you were with her at lourdes
whilst the sun was shining
two worlds became one
light flickers
from the water edge
bread and wine are your sole ambition
trust in vespers

A Christmas angel of possibilities came into my soul’s mind.
Epitome of goodliness, exuding confidence and joy, she was fine truth.
I recognized her strengths and characteristics of a lovely kind.
She has the qualities of the wonderful Biblical daughter-in-law, Ruth.
I strived to become the best I could be as I watched her lead.
She gave me a plethora of ideas, most of them clear and fine.
Her presence in my slumber tonight planted a giving seed.
Christmas angel of possibilities is welcome in my dreams any time.

Your goodliness and Godliness parades around in my head
and makes me scoff.
I used to be that way too but the devil came by with her enticing ways.
She had such a convincing spiel, I followed her gladly.
Understanding now that the sinner part of me is more fun than not.
Do you want to be stagnant? Stale? Left in the dirt?
An old maid or worse?
Your prissy ways and persnickety attitude
is going to cause you to petrify.
You will never experience the little death if you remain on this track.
Come play with me, hear the pipes? Frolic and dance; the time is ripe.
You deserve to live; eat from the fatted calf, drink some red wine.
Stop standing in the mirror of others, nurture your wanton side.
Lust and love, that’s all there is baby, and money and greed.
Let yourself have a taste of the life you crave, the good life.
They who pressure you into purity are jealous of your youth.
They want you to become moldy, green, yesterday’s bread.
Do not waste your talents, your hunger is vast
You are voluptuous, adventuresome. Taste some life my friend!
Let me help you by leading the way.....

He was a lovely man; I was not a follower
But I was a believer in his Godliness and his goodliness.
His name was Jesus, and I knew he did not deserve to be there.
Nailed to a cross. It was excruciating to watch.
I had known him but a day or so, but he had been kind.
He had taken a moment to listen and to smile.
I was one of the servers at his meal and it was a pleasure to meet him.
He was appreciative and thanked us. Humble, unassuming, sweet.
I asked my mother why such a man would be on a cross.
She was as confused as I was; but we knew better than to ask.
I had to turn away, it was too hard for me to bear.
I prayed for the man, the one many said was God’s son.
I turned back for one last look. There were angels. Their wings had covered him.
I said to my mother “Look!”
She turned. “What am I looking at?” she asked me.
“The angels!” I shrieked. They are covering Jesus.
She put her hand over my mouth to shush me. She knew the laws.
I could have been stoned to death for what I saw.
Pontius Pilate could be listening for all we knew.
I felt better after I saw the angels, knowing Jesus was safe.

Dampen talk in a hesitant time
Uncertainties of a procrastinating hour
Where life goes on … and on...and on
With some obvious happenings of the inevitable
Blemish talk only highlights the stigma of a stagnation
Where neither you nor I are able to be someone
Other than only living in a life of necessity
Those pernicious happenings go on with
the description of a disaster. With a lot of
Repetition of a traverse, repentant mind
Where we are blocked with
A roadblock and a sentry,
Always alternating,
Always calculating
The ingredients of laughter
Ambivalence is a residual reality
of the heavily guarded possibility
Still, there is love, there is a poem,
And there is a visage of heavenly affection
With an astral temptation of life,
Garnishing more and more along with;
Perhaps an enterprise of goodliness. With the
Threatening math multiplying the powerful zero.

Everlastingly, oh Lord.
Thy purity stands.
Unchangeable strength.
Thy right ways endure.
Throughout time, man needed.
For eternity, God has loved.
Forever unfolds its secrets.
Understanding offers hope.
Endurance integrates perfection.
Man becomes an improve soul.
One well-chosen day at a time –
Power to choose right.
Given to each living soul.
Holiness greets goodliness.
Man’s dreams of joy sublime.
Leads him to spiritual places.
The gift from Father,
His only begotten Son.
Altogether lovely,
Forgiveness bestowed.
Exaltation becomes reality.
Everlastingly.

Kneeling before the cross,
A simple sign of faith
A potent symbol of his love
A symbol whose holy shadow
Casts the light of love across the world
I am in the presence of the Lord
I feel His hand on my shoulder
His love in my heart
I find I am at peace
In the presence of the lord
I feel His reassuring presence
The Son of God
The Prince of Peace
Who died upon the cross
Who died on a hill in Calvary
And was born again
I feel the power of His glory
I feel at peace
I feel his Godliness
His Goodliness
He surrounds me with his love
And he comforts me
Making the world a less savage place
