Moral Decay
(A Tom Wright opinion)
1-3-2020
Our country is now mired in moral decay,
By the actions of many, being coddled today.
Attitudes are bad and our skins are too thin,
And its all come about because of mankind’s sin.
Two words I hear bandied are racist and bully,
I wonder if many grasp their meaning fully.
Or do they just fit the narrative which they allege,
Some spend each day attempting to drive this wedge.
Social media allows speech not said face to face,
This cowardly behavior is an outright disgrace.
Some nitpick and whine over words in a speech,
Indoctrinating minds with things we can’t unteach.
“what is morally wrong cannot be politically right”
William Gladstone

Good Old Boys
Written: By Miracle Man

Our country is presently run by “good old boys,”
We’re inundated daily with incessant noise.
Their primary focus, is on accumulating wealth,
And spinning the media to keep matters stealth.
There’s only one remedy to rectify this matter,
Vote in term limits and watch “good old boys” scatter.
But change won’t happen for it requires them to fix,
They were born with the smarts, and see us as just hicks.
One thing is perplexing and definitely isn’t funny,
Is the way they choose to spend the tax payer’s money.
All the time, from lobbyist pockets, they’re busy gleaning,
Causing egotism to take on an entirely new meaning.
“What is morally wrong
Cannot be politically right”
William Gladstone

Oh, yes, I have been up since 3 a.m. which means I got 6.5 hours of sleep.
Hooray! Great Day! Wonderful to get to be happy, and not even a tiny weep.
I am going to a fabulous church I attended last week, to build myself up, and they did.
It's in another town, another state, it's a bit of a drive, in the middle of Gladstone, Mid.
My heart leaps with joy, at the thought of this upbeat congregation that fits me like a glove.
I like going to a place that's upright and positive, and concentrates on God is Love.
We don't talk about wars or strife, or famines or Lot's Wife at this church, a magnificent community.
Can you guess where and which church I am going?
Who knows?
You?
Okay. You then?
No one?
I'm going to Unity.
