salt
on potatoes
livening them up

salt on the road
melting black ice

salt in a block
feeding deer

are you worth your salt?
like potatoes and black ice?

do you enjoy your salt
like the deer?

Distance

Between you and me,
Distance is gravity,
A Distance makes you moon,
And me sun, Your beauty,
Is nothing but from a distance,
Life is only the a status of,
Being at distance from death,
Things are things from a
Specific distance,
Love is distance from hate.
Who made the world
By the distance, or,
By the God,
Who made the God?
By the distance!
Who made distance ?
By the God?

Sleep

The unknown only I know,
Where I find joy and peace.
A world of mine,
Every single thing glow.
All it takes is my eyes closed and I'll sleep.
Then I'll have a world so devine.
Blossom Monyei

My pen bleeds

My pen bleeds by Blossom Monyei

My pen will bleed till forever,
Staining the minds of those that'll even glance.

Words that flow from my heart's endeavor,
Leaving marks that won't fade fast.

My voice will echo, a lasting sound,
In memories that will always be found.

The ink will spread, a dark stain,
Staining hearts with every line.

A permanent mark, a memory gained,
A testament to what I've said.

Bleed, my pen, and let the words be read,
Forever marking those who see.

The bleeding Pen.

Premium MemberSafari Samantha

Samantha sensed another safari was in her very near future
the summer was not over yet, so she ran to Africa, the Congo
Mosquitoes, Covid, Typhoid and fruit flies did not bother her
Her maps were worn out so she winged it, and loved it so…

Premium MemberSmall Sneeze from my Closet

I heard a small sneeze from my closet
knew it was the gremlin who hides in there
he is usually more cautious, silent but deadly
another sneeze; he must be sick

I got out my Vicks and my Therma flu
grabbed him by the ears and dragged him out
he was horrified, thinking he had been a secret
think again buddy, I was a mother once

he was kicking, biting and scratching me
I barely felt it, due to his small size and tiny teeth
cut it out, I told him I am trying to save your life
he does not speak English, a whisper said

I looked up and saw yellow eyes
It was a vampire bat
Just another monster living in my closet
I did not even know about this one

I pushed the gremlin and Vicks back in and slammed the door
what about that Therma Flu asked the bat?
Crap. An intelligent vampire bat.
There really are monsters in my closet!

No Damage Done

No Damage Done
The storm approached suddenly
And the wind blew fiercely
But the tree fell slowly
It landed softly
Trying not to disturb the gentle plants and trees around it
The animals in the forest
Watched it fall
It would have been a cozy home
For me and my family
Said the squirrel
The perfect place for a nest
Said the robin
Its nuts would have given me food for winter
Said the chipmunk
It was a nice shady spot for napping
Said the bear
It landed softly, no damage done
Said the man
The animals of the forest agreed
The man will never know
The value of a tree

An Old Italian Proverb

If you can't live longer, live deeper.

An Old English Proverb

Enough is as good as a feast.

Catching Constellations Like Fireflies

If I could
catch the stars
in a mason jar would
it be enough to
prove myself?

I
don't
want
to
be
here
anymore.

I want to be up in space
where all of the fireflies reside.

They
don't
care
if
I'm
not
good
enough.

Court Jester

You joined the Navy.
I joined the circus.
I was always a clown,
and you were always
so serious.

Circus Squeals

I am a circus freak—

collar popped,
polka dots.

You throw apples
and boo;
I hate all of
you too.

I’m not bothered,
though.

One day, I’ll
start a revolution
and set fire to this
whole place.

You see me as a freak;
I see myself as one of
you elites—

three-piece suit,
walking cane.

I’m going to
dismantle
the aristocracy
internally.

Join the cause
or die.

impermanence

Among the sky,
Among the earth,
Among the sand,
Among the dirt,
Among the sleet,
Among the snow—

Rests impermanence,
our only home.

WHATS UP THE WORLD

Our journey began like a joke in 2016,
Things seemed to be moving upside down,
We had miss on to complete before 2019,
We are glad to be wearing crowns,
What's up the world!

Coming from zero to hero,
Was a dream currently coming true,
Our brain weighs more than a kilo,
Displine and respect it is our favorite shoe,
What's up the world!

Congrat to me and my fellow students,
We are aiming the highest target,
We want to use knowledge to make cents,
Our eyes focused on the of right,
What's up the world!

Lamentation

I feel maybe I hadn't chosen
My dream of studying abroad
with lots of sacrifices and restless body
I still end up being miserable

Abroad makes you thirsty for money
Where you quench it by slowly
Killing your health and body

Is it possible to go back ?
My heart always plead me
I smile gently and say
It's no worth of going back

I don't feel this place happy anymore
Neither I want to go back
What I want?
Still this question is pause in my mind

May be I have to adapt slowly
My mind says that
But my heart says
Please take me back
I want to be happy again

Stuck in middle of mind and heart
I pause for second
Anyway I have to continue this life
So I started my journey again
