When Tom Understood Jerry

I hated him,
fought with him,
threw words sharp enough to cut.

I called him a psycho,
as if he was
and he—
he just nodded,
as if guilt was his to bear.

He took my beatings,
my storms,
without a single strike back.

And when I broke,
when tears came like floodwater,
he didn’t turn away.
He pulled me close,
patted my hair,
and whispered,

“It’s okay… I will be with you.”

That was the moment,
like Tom understanding Jerry,
we stopped being enemies—
and became something more.

Her Body, The Battleground

she screamed into the camera
and became a voice of millions
someone called her a child of wealth
while someone called her fury fake

it all came from the mouth of an ill man
who would sit on his porch, almost at the death door
for how long should a fool ignore, the capitalism and greed?
he lost his shame when he started talking about her body

can a woman do something without being sexualized?
she sailed through the ocean to confess her anger
maybe the world needs more angry women
since a men can only talk about sex

when the floodwater rises, so does his fists
when the drought hits, his anger reaches peak
he needs someone weak to prove he is still a man
thus hiding violence under cover of crisis

Not a Hoax

"the oceans are becoming more salty
our planet is turning into a complete gas chamber"-
to someone i sound like i am a case of immediate help
who needs serious knowledge on what a religious text has to say

you see the more the merrier is not the right saying
when it is breaking the natural balance
oceans are turning salty, trapping more devilish gases
coral reefs are dying that harbors most of marine life

climate change is as real as the death and not a hoax
its real as houses burning down from forest fire
its real as your world getting flood by floodwater
or rising sea levels that will soon reach your door

High Hells

Drag along the prophet?
Oracle, break the grip.
Tools of iron and Tophet!
Let the heavens rip!

Flippered horrors on the crawl?
Subterranean tour.
High hells? Hand in overhaul.
Liquid has its lure.

Dour the towers in late spring?
Rim of crater wide.
Drench the world, O undying!
Ocean, loose thy tide!

Grim the gambrel gangrel?
Volcano, downward run.
Belladonna, bell and spell!
Young and yellow dun.

Coals a-glow, infernal life?
Dance upon my knife!
Demon-sultan, play thy fife.
Rampant round and rife...

Strife, goals. Remotest controls?
Lost as ancient souls.
Broken, are ye, golden bowls?
Doldrums, dole and tolls.

Holes producing matter?
Apogee, twist with pain...
Night upon the latter?
Floodwater, course from main...

Time-Tested Man Stands Under the Heaven

T-ime-tested man stands under the heaven,
E-ven during the strong and surging storm;
S-eptember sixteenth above the blue lanes
S-tops the cold chilling rain in brightest form.
I-ll-fated man without faith falls from grace, hitting hard the ground in sudden impact;
E-ver valiant man makes the decisions, difficult but resolve remains intact.

A-ge-tested man stands under the heaven,
L-ooking at the blessings beyond the cloud;
G-lorious promises of the Almighty
A-re conveying God's message clear and loud.
B-ravest of men stands under the heaven,
E-nemies fail to take the shining crown;
R-aging floodwater may be threatening, but it will not bring the great warrior down.

M-an of courage stands under the heaven,
A-lthough the devil's deceits try to trick;
N-ot for a moment will the trust trickle,
L-arge amounts of nerve and guts truly click.
A-s long as the earth spins on its axis,
N-o chance for the hope and love to weaken;
G-od's enduring and obedient servant
I-s time-tested man who stands under
T-he heaven.
