a firecrest puffed up
alights
on our smoke tree

BUTTERFLIES RETURN
After the storm azalea perfumes
the lawn yellow., the bay tree
curtseys low,the copper stirs
and a firecrest alights upon
the smoke tree. Butterflies return
to sun,weed covers the pond,here
and there the ceanthus coloured blue
stops the honey bee in its tracks.Ivy
climbs the wall un noticed, the peony
all dressed in white fragrants the air.

weed covers the pond-
a crested grebe
dives for treasure
a puffed up firecrest
alights upon
our smoke tree
a dawn delicacy-
the mistlethrush's
everyday grub
out of the nest-
the fledgling hopes
mother finds a worm

Computers they refer to as progress
but on that I must disagree.
My nerves are in tatters,
as the darned thing clatters,
and silently crashes again.
It isn't the weather nor even the user,
that causes this constant pain.
With broom in hand, I take a stand,
to bash out it's stupid mechanical brain.
Some say it's a virus some say it's got worms.
I get some domestos,
they say it kills 99% of all germs.
We never had these problems with pen and ink,
Which makes me think. PC stands for
"Piggin Confusin"
