I have a weird sense of humor but just appear luny
In reality, I have a degree in everything including bobbies
Their primary function
To feed their young'uns
And to stop the young laddies from touchy feelies
There was a buzz about the cinema in London 2554
with something brave, something new and outrageous in Cinema World.
The movies had morphed from sight and sound in surround-sound panorama
to the feelies, movies with the sense of touch and feel.
You grabbed the knobs in the hand rests to feel what was on srceen.
Warm, cold, sharp and smooth permeated through your being on cue.
Electronic senses of love and hate, happiness, fear and terror
transmitted via knobs and nerves to brain sensations.
But now two other senses were about to be delivered to the movie goer - Smell and Taste.
Tiny sprays in you headrests delivered squirts of odor into nose and mouth,
on cue with what was happening on the screen.
You could smell the roses, taste the gore, be overwhelmed with smells of war.
You really felt that you were right in there, hearing, seeing, feeling, smelling and tasting.
All five senses, tantalized on cue, really made a difference,
for a Brave New World in Cinema in 2554.
My mother Linda died the other day.
Nobody seemed to care and went away.
Why did I come here with Lenina and Bernard?
What I though would be easy living is now hard
The simple life on the reservation I miss.
There was no rampant carefree promiscuousness.
It seems like everyone is engaged in lust
There’s not a single person here that I trust.
Morals and values seem to be non-existent.
They keep pestering me, and they’re quite persistent.
They poison themselves with those Soma pills.
“Feelies” and other things are where they get their thrills.
They’ve got me ensnared with anxiety and fear.
Not even one person has heard of Shakespeare.
This place is taking its toll on my sanity.
I’m not even sure of my own identity.
This world I now know is full of indecency.
Perhaps in this lighthouse, I’ll find some privacy.
Based on the novel "Brave New World" by the late Aldous Huxley
