Right Hand

Right Hand

Every quarter moon my
pale right hand splits in
two. Inside are
tap parts of
different small sizes who
whisper about
how wonderful it is
that my blood type is
Z.
Too they whisper about
many wicked things.

Three Cheers

No, no
It’s not any
Premature celebration,
But just some fun,
When everyone’s so sick
Of this pandemic.
So, ‘What are the cheers for?’
You may rightly ask.
But then, isn’t it a task
To stand in such
Disciplined way-
Braving not only the heat,
But also freak
Thunderstorms of May
Oh yes, I’m talking of
India’s frontline warriors
Sloshed and soggy
Saving the ‘tottering’ economy
After all, government's empty coffers
Have to be replenished
And, they must buy their bottle
Before the stocks get finished
In this war
Let help pour
From every ‘quarter’
Every ‘pint'
I hope
You get the hint
It’s time to
Come out ‘all mouths reeking'
Some sober, some tipsy, some puking
It’s this fighting ‘spirit’
Which will eventually overcome Covid
Hence, can we please
Stop our jeers
And instead
Raise a toast
To all the tipplers out there-
‘Three Cheers'.

Super Moon So Mesmerizing

Super Moon so mesmerizing
Extra-terrestrials
Aliens
Do they wonder who’s on Earth
Come greet Earth's homo-sapiens

You captivate me from above
I thank you and
I send you love
Your beam of light
shines through the night
Super Moon so luminescent

Your ever changing girth
Every quarter a rebirth
Culminates in all your glory
Super Moon so transitory

Gazing skywards so enticing
Gently lure me in
Hypnotizing
Tantalising
Super Moon so mesmerizing

Aces, Braces, Faces and Laces In Wintry Watersheds

Life lost in saline streams
Straining to see
Possibilities in reams and streams
Crane to love me

Although I desire nothing unproven
In the world I grapple to save
From madness and sadness woven
In webs only the brave

Dare to challenge
In the open where nerves
Bent on revenge
Achieve rubbish that serves

No useful purposes
In improving prospects
For souls that befriend porpoises
Upon finding at their detriment suspects

Aren’t always guilty
Despite evidence claiming the world gets better
Now that the mighty
Grow less bitter

Engaging concerns
Thrown to back pages
For too long in urns
Where they rot for ages

Hoping dreams come true
For creatures great and small
Whose wisdom and freedom glue
Souls who can play ball

In efforts to fraternize
Erstwhile enemies
And modernize to incentivize
The growth economies

Need to plant sesame seeds
To grow goodwill
Through daring deeds
Whose efficient effects spill

To the general populace
Who longs for shelter
As technologies race
Forth to implement the letter

That signifies happiness
Flying into every quarter
Where it jettisons sadness
Drowning it into wintry water.

The Rising Sun

the rising sun walks quietly in sky
then lowers her lips down
whispers to birds; “wake up”
tells cockerels; “crow loudly”
and intimates the lazy; “sleep on,
time is unfair, sleep on”
then the world bursts into noise
sounds, cries and singing echoes
in every quarter there is activity
with the sun watching and wondering
“I woke up a few creatures but
the whole world has responded!”
then wise sun smiles and vanishes

Pity Party

How can I feel so tired?
I've slept for most of the day,
Being in constant pain,
Is causing me dismay.
It's not just my knee,
I have cervicalgia to put up with too,
My right side is shot to ****,
What the bloody hell am I to do?
I'm taking tramadol and gabapentin,
With amitriptyline and co-codamol on top,
I'm surprised I'm not rattling,
I just want this pain to stop.
I have vitamin D supplements,
B12 injections every quarter,
My medications dry out my mouth,
I spend all day drinking water.
I can't sleep due to the pain,
Oh dear, woe is me,
If it's not that keeping me awake,
It's the many times I have to get up to pee.
I think I'll give myself up for scrap,
Not that I've got many working parts,
And seeing as I've had curry for tea,
They certainly won't want me with farts.
So, I'll just sit here and wallow,
Taking strong painkillers is a swine,
Beer and spirits are off limits,
I can't even have a glass of wine.
But, hey I'm still smiling,
If I don't I'll break down and cry,
It's time to take my tablets,
Zombified time is nigh.

If

If i could steal the love from all of the hearts on earth.
It wouldnt amount to a fraction of what you deserve.
If i made a million dollars tomorrow, you could have every cent.
Every quarter, kniccle, and dime i ever make, you can get.
If i had a say-so, you'd be happy for life.
If i could make you fall in love, it'd happen on sight.
If i ruled the world, i'd place it at your feet.
Every cloud, mountain, body of water, and every tree.
If i could live without my heart, i'd place it in your hands.
If i could die for you, i'd give up my breath in advance.
If i could touch you now, we'd get lost in ecstacy.
You and me, naked, all night, love's spicy recipe.
If i could read your mind, i'd always do the right thing.
If i could see the future, you could dodge trouble life brings.
If i had a genie, and a if was a wish.
If a if was a if was a if was a if....

Grandfather Clock

Tick tock tick tock goes your clock
time passes and passes my time
tick tock, tick tock goes my life time
Quarter hour you sing a song
Every quarter you sing away the time
Chimes and ding dong on the hour
My power is fading with the sun set
Sing me a lullaby all the night long
Nightmares of phantoms stealing my life
Singing a lullaby while tightening my noose.

There's Little Doubt of the Outcome

There’s Little Doubt of the Outcome

By Elton Camp

When fighting one more powerful than you
To succeed there is practically nothing to do
Very soon you’ll be lying flat of your face
Beaten, bruised and in complete disgrace

And that’s the way it is with our Uncle Sam
When his rules & regulations he wants to ram
An agency that delights to tell us what to do
Is called the Department of Internal Revenue

With what it says, we are required to comply
Resistance is futile, so there’s no need to try
On your return you make some innocent mistake
Then they can threaten a complete audit to take

They seem to think we should so plainly see
The need for Schedules they call X, Y and Z
If it’s possible to put things in a complex way
Then that exactly what the IRS is going to say

Unless we pay our income tax before it is due
Next year, every quarter it will come from you
“We see that of taxes you didn’t pay enough.
That your income increased is just too tough.”

Most citizens don’t mind paying their share
But it would be easier with tax laws more fair
That fat cats who are rolling in so much dough
May get by with little, makes us feel it isn’t so

Every

every minute of every hour
every heartbeat, every thought
every dawn that reaches across
every quarter of every moon
every tide that ebbs then flows
every whisper, every song
every feeling ever known
every single evening prayer
every dream is always you
