'God forbid', Life permits!!
When the pastors could no longer pastor
When the preacher could no longer preach
When the crusader could no longer crusade
When the Evangelist could no longer evangelise
When the dancers could no longer dance because
Their legs were weak and dishonest with them
When the doctors could no longer treat
When the plane could no longer fly and we watch
The ship sink into the ocean without any help
When the journey is no longer sweet to further
Mosquitoes and bedbugs suck more of our blood
Hell becomes closer than before to us
When the children are left naked and sinful
When all the trees are crook and none is standing
When the legs could no longer be raised
When the sand becomes hotter and desperate to kill
When the stream calls for soul to swallow
When the oceans are more reddish and horrible
When millions shall die at once in an ailment
When the earth becomes mountain and no one could climb
Can you still stand in sweet joy?
Can you still tend the farmland?
'God forbid' but life permit,
Life sometimes permit what God forbids.
(C) John Chizoba Vincent
SHE IS HELL’S ROUTE
Begotten from the loins of Gods-Law,
With a life span longer than death
She bit off her mother’s breast after infancy,
Denied her siblings of that gracious taste, then,
Whatever she fed them with was delicious.
Not so pretty but, her manners seduced the world
Her theistic robe earned her more reverence,
Then her rule above simple-faith began.
She convinced Jews that Jesus never came once,
Planted holy hypocrisy in the Vatican,
Caused China to misjudge the quest of Buddha, and
Arab hurriedly misunderstood Mohammed’s mission.
These frustrations inspired America to
Pave way for the free-mason, yet no harmony.
Now the world sees through her eyes and walks by her feet,
Thinks from her mind and speaks with her tongue,
We have been spiritually and philosophically misled.
She is a friend of temples’ but still God’s enemy
Admires power, yet despises knowledge
Campaigns for good, but won’t let go of evil.
Religion is the pain behind the world’s hurt,
Nothing but love can make us whole again.
But mind you, she will evangelise till eternity
Flee from her path, she is hell’s route.
Spread the good news
By any means you choose
Pass on the news to all
Herald it with clarion call
And drummers drumming
The Street Angels are coming
A host of angels on the beat
Where the folk of Woking meet
Armed only with Gods light
To illuminate those in plight
But not to preach or evangelise
Nor to judge or chastise
But to listen with sympathetic ears
Offer a tissue to stem the tears
Have a Christian heart to care
And make a difference there
For road weary travellers
And over enthusiastic revellers
The intoxicated and the incapable
The distressed and the vulnerable
And for the impromptu shoeless
And the temporarily clueless
They have sensible Flip flops
And sugar boosting Lollipops
So spread the good news
By any means you choose
Pass on the news to all
Herald it with clarion call
And drummers drumming
The Street Angels are coming
And their blessed presence on the street
Shows that God is on his feet
Finally, love in human guise,
The God-like form and angel eyes,
Unspoken words unto the wise,
A gospel to evangelise.
And in such seeing weaved the spell
Of starry night and wishing well,
Hypnotised into the swell,
Emotion freed, I tripped and fell.
Love perceived as love could be,
A superhuman symphony
To captivate the heart of me,
That you were love, finally.
