Premium Member Insouciance

Diuretics and laxatives have been purging dysmorphic creatures

As they stage their grim delusion for glamour with anorexic features

They call it passion for fashion and yet walk in emperor’s clothes

Nearly naked and some in lines adorned from cocaine shred noses

Present fake breasts bum implants shrivelled Egos and botoxed faces

Like stick insect role models they struggle to portray any humanoid traces

The melt from the spotlight yet the crowd revels in mere bones and skin

A designer declares that ‘with those costumes you’ll look just as thin’

And so audiences worldwide dream of false beauty and are committed

To believe that without external appearances love won’t be requited

They purchase like sheep to the slaughter and starve for undying looks

And fail to notice the mercurial charade of the industry’s criminal crooks

Pill Pusher

Pushing some narcotics,
of yellow, red and green.
A rainbow of biotic’s,
to match the color scheme.

I have an abundance of diuretics
all different shapes and sizes.
An organized aesthetic
for commercial enterprises.

Breath of Life

when the flow is low
and you have no go
with only a pint of air
and no energy to spare
that’s no county fair

filling up with daily meds
daily weight wearing Teds
puffing uphill doesn’t fit the bill
surgical scars from going thru the mill
getting frequent flyer miles wasn’t a thrill

can’t get into a cruising gear
sluggish and sputter every year
no overdrive, most often will idle
potent diuretics act like a tidal
pacing is set, my heart has a bridle

ignition will turn and plugs will fire
but can’t seem to get out of the mire
a rebuilt engine would spice up the body
fine tuning precision that’s not shoddy
now for the throttle cough, Oh lordy!

Premium Member Doc, These Pills Are Killin' Me

Seems each time I visit my doc he recommends more pills for my health!

I'm not sure they're effective but this I know, they're depletin' my wealth!

And with all the side effects, I'm really concerned about my early doom!

"He expired from excessive medications!" might aptly be etched upon my tomb!

The list is endless - Diuretics, Beta Blockers, Nexium, Advil and Tylenol,

Alpha Blockers, Vitamin D, Zantac, Zocor, Micardis and a bit of Timolol,

Carisoprodol, Hydrocholorothiazide, Alphagan, Moltrin and Fosamax,

Hydroxyzine, Caltrate, Phillips Milk of Magnesia and some Atarax!

The black-box warnings say I could suffer everything from dehydration,

To blurred vision, dizziness, diahrea and a serious case of constipation!

My Pa seldom saw a doc and lived to the ripe old age of ninety-four!

He survived by sippin' SSS Blood Tonic and usin' horse linamint for

His aches and pains and other such stuff peddled by the Watkins Man!

I may toss the bottles and use his home-remedies to increase life's span!
