Preacher Man

Oh, preacher man,
You whisk away my breath
With your words.
You whisk away my heart
With your lips.
You whisk away my soul
With your touch.
Living each night
Within secret passion,
We hide ourselves away,
Discreetness a must,
For we are sinners
In their tainted eyes.
Yet our love is Godly true.
But from sometime unknown
In our guilty pleasures,
A new life is created,
A new life is born.
And no longer can we live
In our secret bliss,
Madness rises in the crowds,
They chastise us,
They stone me,
And place this letter upon my breast,
For everyone to see my sin.
The time is coming,
Death awaits me,
Oh preacher man,
Lift your eyes to God, and pray,
Rip away this letter
From my breast,
Burn it to ashes,
Then whisk us away
From these God fearing sinners.

Learning From Love

The feeling comes without warning,
Bright, like the sun rising in the morning.
It completely takes over your mind,
As both your futures become twined.

The scent of sweetness,
There is no time for discreetness.
Just take their hand,
And wonder through no man's land.

Without love,you are dying,
And you find yourself constantly sighing.
Because nothing else is as mesmerizing,
And to yourself you don't like lying.

When you felt like you were grasping air,
There was always someone there to care.
And now you are lost without them,
Like a flower without a stem.

So nobody is there to support,
What is in your every thought.
Go running back,
Find the courage that you lack.

And beg for a different ending,
Because you have stopped pretending.
That your life story is written to perfection,
So you are finally walking in a different direction.

Only For a Season

I'm leaving you,
but only for a season.
Against my own heart
have I committed treason.

You are the sun
that shines upon my soul...
The fire that provides
warmth for me in the cold.

You are the rain
that stimulates my growth...
The wind that moves my
waves about the ocean's coast.

However, our time together has drawn nigh
It's only fair that to you I say, "Good-bye."
All good things must come to end, within reason...
But my leave of absence is only for a season.

You are the beat fitting perfectly
to the rhythm of my heart.
Your hands work deftly,
coinciding with my body's every part.

Your lips are my dessert,
revealing to me naughty secrets.
But your eyes the most inert,
Mystery defined in discreetness.

We are destiny's offspring,
the couple of which love beckons.
But as the song of departure I sing,
Remember it's only for a season.
