Conquerers Poems

Premium MemberSuffering For Christ -2 Corinthians 12: 10

To follow Christ is to bear hardship
being insulted persecuted feeling weak
suffer calamities among other things
in the midst of this we remain meek

In all of this we are content
living for Christ for our savour's sake
being willing to follow Him
bearing His cross we gladly take

In all of this we're more than conquerers
realising that Jesus paid our price
taking all of our sin on His body
this accomplished by our Lord Jesus Christ

What is such suffering on this earth?
for our short time here
when our future is eternally secure
being strong in Christ abiding near

AUTHOR NOTES: 'For the sake of Christ, then I am content with weaknesses,
insults, hardships, persecutions and calamities. For when I am weak then I am
strong.' 2 Corinthians 12 v. 10

More Than Conquerers

Life blasting past; too hard to see
Almost web of insanity!

Try to be human - don't conk my brain
Oooh - to just imagine the pain!

To be worrried about a scream
Rather have some ice-cream!

Growing up... not quite sure how
Pat my back and give God a bow!

The heart of a man thrives wholly
with the respect of a woman whose nurturing
soul is not threatened by his strength
but finds comfort in his protective care.

The love of a woman is won completely
by a man willing to lay bare his vulnerability
at the mere sight of her approving smile
or the touch of her healing hands.

And neither is threatened by the role of the other,
but are wise in the ways of their creator,
in whose infinite wisdom
endowed each with opposite strengths

so they may be equal partners
walking forth solidly hand in hand
as co-conquerers of challenge
and liberators of love.
