Today's The Day

There are those in England
who put 'something special' away
just for a rainy day
if only they
took the time it would allow
to look out the window
perhaps they would see
somehow
as cats and dogs
are coming down in buckets
that day is here and now

Rain

Raindrops splashing – puddles fill the terrain;
Cloudbursts of downpours - springtime in the rain;
For oceans, steep hillsides - on flat terrain –
Soaked by liquid sunshine - showers of rain;
Rides summer thunder – pelting, pounding rain;
Coming down in buckets on the smooth plain;
Party for umbrellas – fancy and plain;
Drought welcomes rainstorms again and again;
Rain for fall in cities – on the mountain;
Music of winter on rain chains again.
