spooky girls three went everywhere together
in rain, sleet or snow, any kind of Midwest weather
they were named Hortense, Helena and Holly Heather
Sisters? We were unsure, said my brother, Merriweather.
Almost acting as if cojoined, these three were rather creepy,
If one cried, the other two wailed and got unbelievably weepy.
They liked October, it seemed to be their favorite month of all.
I always got frightened when they appeared in the fall.
They transmogrified out of mushrooms or tree stumps or moss.
Appearing before our eyes, it was weird, said my cousin Hoss.
spooky girls three sometimes put spells on us too.
This is how they banished our friend Linda Sue Lou.
You have been to me a brother
I do not have to give a bother
Flesh and blood we are not
Cojoined like a siamese twin
We had own shares of dreams on
a platter
Circumstances have not made the
issues better
Brotherly are we, cojoined by our souls
No mortal can ever separate our sail
Brotherly are we,
brotherly shall we be
not by flesh or blood.

Mr and Mrs Lattimore are not unlike conjoined twins
they go everywhere together
store, movie, restaurant, doctor’s, dentist,
it is as if they share a spinal column or a breast plate
prior to marriage they had separate names
separate lives
separate friends
separate relatives
they might as well sell their second car
it has not been used since their wedding twelve years ago
one of them is a relative
it might as well be both
they sit together at a table
answer questions directed to the other
if you call, you are put on speaker
speaking to both, never just one
I wonder if they use the same public restroom?
