A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single stride,
Time dances swiftly, feels like yesterday’s tide,
When I first set foot on this school’s sacred ground,
Hope in my heart, innocence all around.
I remember the prayers, the anticipation so grand,
Wrestling with angels, like Jacob, I’d stand,
“God, if You don’t do it, no one else can,”
Pouring my heart out, like a desperate man.
Sleepless nights echoed with fervent pleas,
Disturbing the peace, bringing Jiri to her knees,
“Shut it down,” she would say, but only I could see,
What I sought from the heavens, my fervent decree.
It was a do-or-die affair, I couldn’t relent,
Longing to be a student, my heart was intent,
High school movies danced in my mind’s eye,
Unaware of the stakes, the truth cloaked in lie.
Not all that glitters is diamond, I’ve come to find,
I wish I had known, had prepared my mind,
Should I say I wasn’t ready? The answer’s unclear,
But the journey unfolds, and I’ll face what’s near.
My classroom is like an entertainment box,
There are performers who never stop,
I teach them with care and love,
And they learn rapidly with fun...
One is an ace of acting and pretending,
Another one is always attentive,
One is so innocent and naive,
Another one's confidence is really high...
We keep interacting and participating on screen,
I feel teacher and students are becoming buddies,
See, we're saving time of going and coming,
I'm glad that we're not lagging behind in studies...
Classroom connects us though we are miles away,
Distance cannot be an obstacle in our progressive way,
You will grow & develop your skills,
My students are like the lions on the highest hills...
From amazing speeches, group discussions to wonderful stories,
From playing roles, debating and writing theories,
Criticism and appreciation need to compile,
We chat, cheer and share smiles...
I feel grateful to have our enthusiastic team,
Keep growing, build confidence and your self-esteem,
You all will always be a part of my classroom,
May you always blissfully bloom...!

Mosquito Beaters Luncheon
Class of '64
By Franklin Price
03/17/2022
It was only just a week ago
That we met at Island Time
Older now and maybe wiser
Than when young and in our prime
The faces looked familiar
As the years were wiped away
We were the class of '64
Who had come to lunch that day
I exchanged hugs with ladies
With a light kiss on the cheek
Put my arm around the men folk
Shook their hands, I'm not a geek
We enjoyed each others' company
It had been too long, too far
Reminisced a lot of history
Got a few beers from the bar
When the lunch was over
And we went our separate ways
We had smiles on all our faces
From remembering the days
The fun we had,formulated individualism
We had lots of those
The focus we had,formulated maturity
We achieved it
What a unique class
The endless laughter
Lead to the enjoyment of the year
The naughtiness
Lead to the togetherness
A class to be remembered
I do not see further meaning
behind the choice of word
To analyze this is demeaning
I think it is absurd
Whoever decided to write this
must of been high as a kite
If you want this class to be treacherous
stab me to make it a fair fight
The only thing less moving than poetry
is the clock up on the wall
Time is is no hurry
to set me free into the hall
My teacher tries to no avail
perhaps I’m unable to learn
Or maybe all poets are evil
and just want the world to burn
Doing is Happening
There are imaginary lines to mark locations in a map
Horizontal parallel layti are latitude lines.
Vertical khari lambi are longitude lines.
Four directions to go
The time is now.
Note.Maps can only guide readers.
Lesson. The marker of imagination is an important ingredient.
It is hot!
I cannot get cool,
I have drunk so much water and juice,
I think ill just take my shoes off,
In addition, I just want to sit around in the shade
It is hot!
My clothes is sticking onto me
The sweat rolls down my chin
I think I will take my clothes off
Moreover, just sit around in my skin.
It is hot!
I have tried so many things from eating ice to electric fans
And is nothing working
I think I will take my skin off
And sit around in my bones
Even then, I will still be hot.
I remember
so well
the friends
that I made
when childhood
was wrapped
in blue sky
but I cannot
remember
the last time
we played
- and whether
we all said
goodbye.
heart snapped off hearing the news of my friend's unforeseen scarring mishap
Disclaimer: This unpredicted incident happened in the year 2009 when I was in 9th grade. My friend Vivek met with frightening tragedy while he was riding bike along with his cousin sitting behind.Unfortunately,
his brother died on spot and my friend was mercifully rescued.Attaining deep injuries was in a state of coma.
A major shock to his family and us(classmates and teachers).Striken by grief we held him in our faith & prayers every single day for his progress & arrival.
In a month or two we heard he was normal but had required rest for few months.
We were all excited to meet him once he came back to school though felt bitter looking at his scars everyday. Now he is perfectly all right and blissful young man.
Recalling his mishap evokes trembling tears in my eyes even today..!!

Class of 2002,
this year is at it's end.
Juniors we will be next year,
while keeping our Sophomore friends.
Although I will be leaving soon,
I take a part of this school with me,
Knowing next year will be a newer place,
where you'll no longer be.
I take each memory shared by us,
the good, the bad, just them all.
Through each day I'll think of you,
our bonds standing me up tall.
We'll think our time is getting near,
we'll be so happy and proud.
But when the time is actually here,
tears will fall in a cloud.
No matter where I go,
I'll be with all of you.
As you'll be a class of Seniors one day,
So will I, just with someone new.
Dedicated to: Roane County High School, Class of "2002"
Sucks I had to move away.
Tassels are turned, and caps are in the air,
High school ends just like that with a handshake.
This is a day we’ve been waiting to share
But now, everybody’s health is at stake.
With no parties, no way to celebrate,
How do we mark our great accomplishments?
Maybe by summer, we’ll see our classmates,
But then it’s on to college assignments.
Pack up, move out, now your life’s in a dorm.
Usually there are some hugs and tears.
First day of class is not the high school norm,
But we quickly find friends among new peers.
Corona, you’ve seized prom, graduation...
Please don’t touch our college education.
Khamisa Class
A class made up of combination of different students
Ranging from serious students to crazy students
Including both sleeping students and playful students
But Interestingly, they are all my fellow students!
I don't know if at all they should be called students
Cos learning is the characteristic of any student
Of which I see not in these Khamisa Students
But that doesn't mean they are poor students
Look, they pass their exams like no other students!
Just that jamia has made them this kind of students
I'm privileged to have them as my fellow students
Cos they mean more to me, than being fellow students!
Mighty behind desk and beak,
teaching chemistry earrings.
Glass rims speak of test--
new eyes flame begins.
Some books peek with hearings,
some hide their giggle as best,
while others lean out to confess
the test they'd like to take.
Your name is Dawn.
I know you hate my nose!
And I have mother-of-pearl
Snaps
On my clothes,
But truth is,
Seven months I have been waiting,
To ask you out!
(Don’t know for sure ‘f your folks
Will welcome dating)
BUT
I haven’t got a Chance
Of forgetting you,
So, if you think, ‘no’,
Just… before you do,
Remember,
I am not all that I seem.
I think of you,
And float into a dream
I see your eyes, as green
As unripe, exotic wood,
And wonder whether you feel seen,
Feel understood
I look at you,
And Have to catch my breath!
I admit, I have hope fluttering in my heart!
You smiled at me,
My heart wrenched right
(And that’s no shibboleth)
Okay, I hope that helps… that you have heard,
And will respond by saying ‘yes’!
Heartfully Signed,
And hoping to be undeferred
Andy
