HOLIDAY HOTEL
Oh you can talk of Ritz and Claridge
And of restaurants wax lyrical
Never even a beetle or midge
A fly in the soup’s an empirical miracle
But the finest stay in a hostelry
Somewhere between Cairo and Teheran
Doubtless without a hint of rivalry
The finest room, food and divan
Was to be found in a hot desert place
Where water was green but delicious.
When the sun went down apace
The remnant food was nutritious.
Night temperature two degree decrease
Sleep was a luxury to count on
And four hours of delight and peace
Once the ants were gone
