Charly Dinton Said

Charley Dinton said
that everyone has a secret name.
A bad person’s name
might be long and segmented
like chopped jellied eels,
or spat out in gobs like phlegm.

He was old when I was young.
I paid him little heed,

yet it was said of him

that he had a special sight.
Grownups listened to him

when he spoke of certain things.

He would sit in father’s chair,
and dad didn’t even complain
but offered tea and biscuits,
as if mum had forgotten how.

Halfway through a story
he chuckled at a thought:

'Jer know wha e cawl imself?

He was talking of a person we knew of
who’d been jailed for rape.

E cawl imself, ‘Jack the Rabbit’..ty old bugger!
I saw eaz weal moniker mine you
Saw it in is mauff clear as dayligh.
People got all sort ov idden names,
some names
wou make yer bleedin air curl.
Devils turds I cawls em.

That’s what Charley Dinton said.

Windsurfing Whales

windswept windsurfing wallabies warbling whales wailing................................................................................

A pink fish travelling with a tea towel is neither in a rush or dirty. Gridlocked gorillas getting grapes gracefully glide. Seafront mystery in windswept hair carrying a carrot, a jar of mustard, and ten grains of multicoloured rocks. A tambourine on a sponge cake can be beating but not beaten. And a lamb cawl is not a call nor a front crawl so place the gate and door at a sixty degree angle. Many custard cups play hockey with wildebeests in tutus. In a fingerless glove place nine toes, and in a pocket watch place a turning tubular pin. The frost from a llamas horn is neither stagnant or perfumed, it is merely a tidal wave of porridge. Hahaha magniloquent magnolia magnitude making monkfish moussaka. Hahaha equality equals equipment eveningwear xxxxxxx hospitalities Z z Z z Z

A Love Everlasting

There are stars
in my soul,
there are scars
in my eye's

Leaving you
was the hardest thing
I'll ever do,
for I love you still

And always.

A million moments passed
then shafts of sorrow,
pierced the illusion
I'd summoned at our end

Adorations birth took time
and the feelings I cherish,
grew from a seed of hate
into an everlasting love

This faith I hold dear
is mine and mine alone,
you see through a cawl
contempt with dislike

but when I leave this place,

I will show them stars
I gathered from our love
And I will show them life
devoid of your loved warmth,
as I've lived as half a whole

I will search a thousand lives
keeping constant pace,
until I see light we gathered
shining from your face

My love I miss your touch
with every single breath,
even though I'm forgotten
I'll never forget our days

I miss your face.
