- "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free." -
Michelangelo

Among crimson flowers
and sunsets in brushed calendulas
My imagination will not be denied
even though I am scared and alone
among the fallen ribbons
Where grief is a heavy chain
Iron reflects on innocent earth

Weep - silent tears at the grave
- set the angels free

An angel chiseled in shining white marble
Characterized by silence
Weep as a thin veil,
otherworldly beauty in a blessed resting place
Seeking comfort under own wings
A divine place for tears and prayer
which brings sanity back to normal level

Weep - a weight from the past
- set the angels free

Oh, how you fill me with unbridled glee, as you do

Colorful calendulas cheerfully quaking in the breeze

This captivatingly wondrous birth month of mine kicks off

Oktoberfest, Food Day, Halloween, just to name a few

Beautifully bright colors of autumn ever so vivid as...

Earth turns refreshingly cool, softly sighing in...

Red and gold Maple leaves. I love thee, October!

Garden

Looking out of the window
I see nothing.
View to eastern hills,
Blocked by lorries, carrying soldiers
In combat-fatigues,
My town looks like a fortress.

In my room,
Cramped with books and history,
Surrounded by dusty calendars,
I wage a war for freedom
From captivity,
Wishing for a breath of green air.

In this prison of thoughts,
I close my eyes and remember
Golden calendulas, cactuses with tiny red blooms,
Whispering orchids and giggling ferns
You once tendered in distant time,
In a faraway garden.

Thus I ignore the walls.

Disappointing Year For Flowers

It was a disappointing year for flowers
seeds were planted in the Spring,
I was hoping for lots of colour
assorted lilies, calendulas and everything.

Beetles ate my assorted lilies
caterpillars attacked the apple trees,
my heart was breaking in two
when there was nothing sweet for the bees.

I hope next year will be better
my assorted lilies, I'd love to smell,
see more apples grow on the trees
who knows? Only God can tell.

I planted many different flower seeds this year and it was truly disappointing when I ended up having a lot less than a quarter of flowers pop from the seeds I planted. I planted double marigolds and they all went right to seed during the Summer.
