Shall I forget "Don't Forget Things Street",
Where stealing increases body heat
And items get lost from 7.00pm:
Wealth outside owners forget to claim?
"Don't forget" might stop recording theft,
If owners stopped treating things as left,
When the long and short hands of clocks
Had balanced on Twelve and Seven, gaped locks...
"Don't forget street" yet to house burglars
But could soon have them from her stragglers
A street pleading that we remember
Or, else, get set to lose a member!

Burglars and robbers! He declared in an absolute way.
Or squirrels and crows, she said. Ready to play.
You are weird he told her.
I know she said. Flash of fur.
A squirrel ran past carrying his wallet that day.
Gave it to a crow who latched on and soon flew away.

Burglars came to get my stuff, but there was nothing to steal.
So I made them into friends and we went to other people’s houses.
Making them into friends.
The burglars stopped their stealing ways,
and became kind and happy.
People loved the burglars, and they began hiring them to clean and cook,
And fix their cars, insulate their attics, babysit their children,
and groom their fussy cats.
The burglars are all legitimate workers now,
making money in a legal way.
Not stealing, not cheating, not lying.
Changed into upstanding citizens.
They never bring home things they did not pay for themselves anymore.
I am confident when other burglars break into my friends, the
Former burglar’s houses, they will make them into friends and go to other
People’s houses, knowing what they have to do.

A young Soul, Naive and intrigued
A rebellious side waiting to be seen
In the shadow of night, Demons exposed
Change In his face an evil glow
In his mind, a planned Mission
Cold, dark criminal vision
Into the house, silent and Empty
Valuable items all so tempting
Like a wild scavenger nothing is missed
Feet moving carefully, gentle and swift
Off into the night with the prize possessions
A guilt riddled mind, threatening confession
A situation which once seemed distant
On a path now destined for Prison
