Standing Up For Immigration Rights

In the United States of America, all immigration laws must be in effect at all times. It's
been like that since the Civil War started and the signing of the Declaration of
Independence. But everybody must accept the fact that the people from different countries,
including India, are becoming citizens of the United States. It seems that some people
don't want them in our country because all foreigners will not just take their jobs or
whatever, but commit crimes everywhere they go, including solicitation or whatever. Well,
the last time everybody had checked, the united States of America was called "the land of
opportunity." Now I, for one, am for immigration rights. Just like these people from
Mexico, Haiti, China, or wherever these people are from, they have rights, just like all
of Americans do. Some people like me should make them feel welcome in our country, but
some them are always judging these foreigners by their religions, faiths, and/or beliefs,
background, or whatever. The ones who have always been hateful towards the people who
aren't U.S. citizens since 2006. And some people are ignorant, selfish, and on top of all
that they're a bunch of hypocrites, just like the Ku Klux Klan who've always wanted all of
us African-Americans to go back to our country called Africa. How stupid is that? Okay,
sure, these people from foreign countries may need to pass background checks in order to
become citizens of the United States of America, but the fact of the matter is that day in
and day out these people, from around the world are God's children, and these people
really need to stop being ignorant and arrogant--for once. If I'm going to stand up for
immigration rights, everybody should stand up for the people from around the world,
including Egypt and Afghanistan. And no matter whether he or she is Muslim, Buddhist, or
Catholic, or whatever, we're all an equal and we are all God's children. God bless
America, and the whole wide world.

Toys Are Us

Toys Are Us
By Cody Brandon Turner

Sweating and tired
Heat hovering over my skin
This day has got to stop
The only question I ask is when?
Parched and dehydrated
It’s too much to take
The sun is beating down on me
Like a bully in the sixth grade
My mouth is drying
My skin is getting pale
It’s beginning to drive me crazy
It’s making me want to yell
Damn all this heat
And Damn this dreadful place
All that this place is good for
Is making people hate
Making people hate life
And all it has to offer
This thing people call work
Why do we even bother?
It restricts us from are lives
And chains us like slaves
It’s nothing like when we were kids
When we used to run and play
No responsibilities
No worries, No hate
The only time we were sad
When our parents said we couldn’t play
Laughing and smiling
Without a care in the world
Imagining and dreaming
In our beds we would curl
That time is gone now
Responsibilities are a must
I often look into my closet
And see toys covered with dust
Through all of the years
In my search for my own happiness
My quest to find life’s true joys
Who would have ever thought?
It lay in a box full of toys

Premium Member Clam Digging

I'm one of many people with shovels in the sand.
Some even go digging the crude way by hand.
In the estuaries, it is now low tide.
There are sandbars that the waters hide.
Buried in the sand are those round white shells.
Hunters are hoping that the number swells.
How many recipes for clams do you know?
There is chowder, steamed, fried, and Casino.
Those bivalve mollusks can be served many ways.
Folks go hunting for them during these days.
Many people like them raw out of the shell.
This way, they think clams taste so well.

Green Lady- America Dream

Food in a rag opens to the night air
ireland's kind store aswage and to bear
The people are anxious and families wait
deliver your stories your knowledge your state

The lady in green her might and her care
Call to the people her torch and your share
Come one and come all now again and again
Freedom to all and your bretheren send

Fog on horizon blast of the horn
she pushes us on to new york we are born
Our clothes and our suit cases battered and old
alight and come hither and pavements of gold

There brother and sister and God now awaits
the great and the good and the clever she makes
Progress and colour and hard work be aloud
do well and reward and your fore fathers proud

Here are the masses religion a plate
The thatch of your old home a long gone relate
Home now awaits in this new mixtured land
Through hard toil or wager your new wealth commands

Life On the Road .

LIFE ON THE ROAD

As you head to the air port leaving again.

As you say good bye to your family and friends.

Just wondering when you will see them again.

Life on the road seems to never end.

Trying the best that you can.

And praying to god that they under stand.

Not doing it for you but for the fans.

Feeling the enegry as you come down that ramp.

And to all the people that pack the stands.

Knowing because of them your a different man.

Life on the road can get lonley, but you meet a
lot of great people along the way.

Knowing that they keep you going

and that everythings going to be ok.

Michael Nutter Poem

Michael Nutter is Philadelphia’s
Third African American mayor,
His middle name is Anthony but
Together his name stands for MAN,
He has two children and a wife,
That understands that he has to lay people off until he gets a better plan.
Michael Nutter may be the “man”
But to run a city he needs a lot of hands.
He ran for councilman and became the Chairman.
He went to Wharton business School and learned about the rules.
He is the mayor of Philadelphia and I think that’s cool.
He has closed a lot of library and most of the neighborhood pools.
He replaced John Street and hired someone the people couldn’t fool.
He is the mayor of Philadelphia and he 's always talking about what he wants done to
public schools.
Michael Nutter is the mayor of Philadelphia and he's always on the news.

Arbeit Macht Frei

ARBEIT MACHT FREI *

Each metro station should have this sign.
Descend to the hot abyss, to the line.
Steel monster vomits people to the platform,
Ingests another load, another swarm.

Roar of machines. No protest voice -
Up the Mauthausen quarry steps, no choice.
Silent victims into the Auschwitz chamber -
Tiring, lifeless journey to nowhere.

Crowded metro carriage glass-cage:
Same strangers every day - no gender, no age:
Lost silent souls packed,  almost touch but never  do;
Close-facing, but eyes far-looking through you.

As animals trying to avoid fights but never fleeing,
No one knows or wants to know your inner being,
Your feeling, your thought, your life, your care.
Mechanical hell on wheels going nowhere. **

* Infamous sign on Nazi concentration camp entrance,
translates as "Work will make you free".

**Poem is dedicated to the 2 000 000 people who use the
metro daily in St. Petersburg, Russia.

I Am Alon Dy

I am Alon Dy,
Son of Mila and Tong Dy,
Brother of Kissy and Milton Dy,
Who loves his wife and his family.

	I am a nurse
Who touches the hearts and minds of the patients,
Who stands and fights for what is right,
Who knows his limits as a nurse.

	I am a dreamer
Who has always option one, two, and three.
I never quit, as it is not in my vocabulary.
Just because others  throw their hands up and cry,
Doesn't mean I'll just leave it high and dry.

I feel bad that some people are ignorant,
Talking *****behind your back like this and that
	These people need to realize,
I do not mind and I do not care.

	Backbiting, prejudice and hatred,
These are negative attitudes that need to eliminate.
Trust me, people still change and
Do this now while there is time.
So please, it is not too late.

Once again, I am Alon Dy
Who fears no one except God.
I understand I cannot please everybody.
I admit I make mistakes sometimes.
	I say sorry, but still,
Need to love each and everyone.

I'm aware I have many friends.
I know I select only few.
I understand, yet wonder why I'm like this.
	It's plain and simple,
	Few of them are true.

Hard Work

The unkown is something we haven't expierenced yet,
That's when I like to take new chances
People can either take that path or stay on the easier path.
                                                  Life is unexpected.
Taking the harder way just makes me feel
                                      like I've actually achived something.

Most people are not brave enough to take this path.
There are to many trap doors, road blocks.
Iam brave enough to get stuck
Even if I need a little help.
It will take me further to better things,
In the long this hard work will pay off.

Slackers take the path that is less traveled.
Guiance is key; most people with bad guidance
Are slackers. I have a great support system.
I wish other people that as well.
Working hard is what I always do.
