Best Walk About Poems
I read of the Australian walk-about.
Where, when all out of sorts you walk and walk till you find yourself.
Well, it seems, I have been on a walk-about, for a very long time unable to shout.
One night, unable to sleep at 2am, I went for a stroll feeling unlike myself.
We lived in what some believe was very ancient Indian grounds.
Dating back to the dawn of time.
In amongst the spirits I sensed I felt one making very strange rounds.
this spirit and I felt a kinship, somehow, so I stopped upon a dime.
We shook heads in approval for I now felt I had met myself.
As if an old lost part of my life, stored like a dusty book, was now off the shelf.
Strange though it seems, ever since then, my life has undergone change.
As if I'm discovering new and grander territories through which to range.
You think you have problems, well let me tell me,
To make this story long, it will be best if I end
from the very beginning, so we can forget it all,
Third, I was placed in a circle to make a square,
And the best that I could do came September,
So I sang a song to help me to know my food,
That really helped me to swallow the words,
And me to chew in ones and twos to stay awake,
To count sheep helped me sleep standing up,
In an overcrowded train filled with empty seats,
Dancing off the boat in my double-breasted suit,
I had to swim through amber waves of pine cones,
After I realized my wristwatch was overwater,
I slowly smelled my watch and saw the time and,
I was standing late for work as it was a quarter
past the seventh floor so I gave him two dimes
and nickel, then things started to make cents,
and that's the honest lie, your honor that's how,
she died, so you found your cat--where,
on the roof, yes, dead? yes, and the dog,
he was on the roof too, alive? no dead, in all
this mayhem,--though I'm afraid to ask--where
was your wife, not on your roof?!, No your honor,
I am happy to say. Thank goodness! She's on
my neighbor's roof with my neighbor (Judge) UGH!

I thought I would take a tiny walk about
A field of wild flowers was calling my name.
I sat among the Queen Anne’s lace, enjoying the sun.
She beat upon my shoulders a bit as I gathered violets.
On a whim I began to decorate my hair.
I looped dandelions together and made myself a crown.
I put one under my chin, and knew it would come up butter.
The sun and I laughed as a monarch flittered past.
It’s just you and me I told a brown cow on the other side of the fence.
She was not going anywhere, curious to see what I was about.
I took out a pen and began to write. Then I flopped down on my belly.
Where did all of these flowers go in the winter?
I put a few into my boots, and my boots laughed.
They were in a merry mood now, so I got more carried away.
When I returned home no one said a word.
It is what I do; it is part of being a nature-loving Gemini woman.
I WALK AROUND WITH A BACKPACK FULL OF MEMORIES, DOZENS OF PICTURES, AND MOMENTS CAPTURED IN MY HEART AND MIND.
I WISH I COULD RETURN TO SOME MOMENTS, AND THERE ARE SOME MOMENTS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO EASE FROM EXISTENCE.
MY EXPERIENCES HAVE MADE ME WHO I AM, A UNIQUE, EMOTIONAL, LOVING, AND CARING MAN.
THE BEATINGS THAT I HAVE TAKEN FROM LIFE HAVE MADE ME A STRONGER, VIGILANT INDIVIDUAL.
I WANT EVERYBODY TO KNOW WHO I AM.....
Harold the coffee pot jumped out of the card drawer and went on a walk
A chicken in the kitchen on top of the oven saw him and began to squawk
The coffee pot hushed her by promising her coffee if she would settle down
He was quickly ambushed by an overly inquisitive questioning silver clown.
I just want to take a walk, he told them. I have been in that drawer forever.
A stuffed dog began to follow him, licking his neck, his name was Clever.
Harold ran for his life and got into the drawer where he stayed.
with no desire to leave, which means he never again got lost or strayed.
