Best Sympathise Poems
I am empty of empathy
come sympathise with me
Cue the violins,
or just fiddle
like a bad-tempered Roman
Offer me hope:
bring flamboyant symbols,
cheap gold pendants with wings
Maybe a big gaudy
unflappable albatross
nothing too flash,
mind you!
Take my hand,
lead me towards the edge
it’s time to fledge
Sidle me onward,
watch as I waver
Try not be over-critical
of the albatross
He’s become a hanger-on,
too far gone
and addicted to flattery
If I drag you down
or appear inhumane,
it’s all secondary
I’m merely feeling depressed
by a pouch in my brain
A séance sensed
it was next of kin,
X-rays revealed tiny pleats,
masses of tissue within folds of skin
An exorcist said it’s
my vestigial twin
Google diagnosed
(Visual agnosia)
taking shape from within
Oh! And the indifferent
chatbot I confided in,
has begun self-harming!

Greedy rich hogs a plenty about
guess the fat little toads have figured it out,
in the money trough fore to dip a snout,
moral corruption and lies,
will the Lord perchance sympathise,
born next time Nigeria no doubt,
to be trained as a scammer,
the lout....
the worthless gets pain no surprise:)
Don
you can make dollars till the grave,
a fancy funeral 4 you babe,
but what happens when ya dies,
upon the eternal judgement side,
where you get cursed or blest,
decide:)
be or not a pest,
while alive,
karmas sow n reap the test,
applied...

Ballad
I read, like an open book
All others can see the words written on my pages.
I contain tales, read as secretive,
A hushed whisper that only a handful have seen.
But how many times has this book been checked out?
A sea of white masks, deadpan through the years
So cherished once, now faded, emotionless.
Forgotten both to me, and I to them.
My secrets are secrets no more -
I own my past, without connecting to it.
I am an open book, because who has to connect with a story?
People can project on a tale,
As what better to have in a confidant,
Than a horror story?
Something you can read from the comfort of your bed,
A scary, scarred stream of words that seem otherworldly.
Frankenstein’s monster will never be faced -
So, too, is this failures’ life.
You understand, you say.
You sympathise, you say.
But how can you, when I checked myself out long ago.

I've experienced many things in my life
things went wrong things went right
I didn't grow up rich or in poverty
many people didn't treat me properly
in trouble through a trouble filled childhood
often misunderstood labelled bad more than good
was very much the black sheep of the family
never played the victim in my only known reality
I didn't know any different knew I was different
as a child went to psychology grew up
use psychology to assault
judging body language isn't difficult
if I like I sympathise if I don't I insult
labelled a simple guy easy on the eye
impulsive saying stupid so often felt the pain inside
embarrassed red faced so often embarrassed lost its taste
was always the one when there's always one
not looking for the one but the thought isn't done
people have developed envy and jealousy
when they met me they liked me but things didn't gel you see
alphas try to show dominance I stand tall
I've done that dance I've stood on my own lonesome
don't moan like some been my one and only
been popular been lonely been ganged up on and cornered
mentally tortured thwarted and fallen
got back up before more damage was done
been called dumb forever some think I'm clever
I’m like “whatever” thick skin like leather
back to the ropes had groups out to intimidate frustrate
I can cope I'll take it but I don't need the intimate mate
I can stand alone infinite,
if friends need me I'm in for it,
I've been all by myself but not become selfish,
I don't need easy shots to make myself feel best, I'm selfless,
I leave the petty to the rest, let it be in jest,
life is a gest, get out the nest and experience the quest,
experience each experience because experiences expire,
never wish it away, work retire,
don't fear what existence brings until the fat lady sings,
live life go the distance and find the finer things.

There are lots of ‘normal’ people that you love to meet and greet,
then there’s the ones when they get near, you try to cross the street.
You know their endless rantings will drive you ‘round the bend,
why is it that these type of folk treat everyone as friends
Now I am one of these ***** folk who pester everyone,
but friends oh no, I know the ones who’d rather I be gone.
Why is it then that I insist, to stop you all to talk
and make full sure I’ve had my say before I let you walk.
Is it because I think I know some things that you do not
or because I really feel that you like me a lot.
Maybe my thirst for knowledge is what I have to gain
or hope that you will sympathise with all my earthly pain.
You never know, maybe I think my preaching will get through
to help you lead far better lives in everything you do.
But by your faces I can tell I haven’t got there yet,
I know what you all think or me that I’m a sad old get.
So tell me why I speak to all I meet now every day
and people scatter everywhere when I am on my way.
The answers plain, now don’t you know, it isn’t just a fad,
the reasons clear for all to see…. I’m simply‘Raving Mad!’

Through seventy years of change,
Orb and sceptre in your hands,
Serving your people, young and old,
You have reigned over these lands.
To duty called when you were young,
You took the oath in Edwards chair.
The crown sits well upon that head
That doth its precious weight still bear.
A beacon to your people,
To all your commonwealth,
You show us what devotion means
To something beyond self.
Prime ministers and presidents
Have graced your royal court
Charities from every sphere
Your patronage have sought.
A mother and a grandmother,
A loyal and loving wife.
A Queen with whom the nation
Shared the milestones of your life.
You could not give us any more,
You’re an example to us all.
Of the meaning of self sacrifice
That answer”s duty’s call.
You too have suffered pain and loss,
Part of life’s kaleidoscope.
You empathise, you sympathise,
You bring a nation hope.
You’ve led us in remembrance
At war’s sad and bitter loss,
You’ve shed tears at the cenotaph,
For the fallen and the lost.
You truly are respected
By every generation,
For standing by your people,
For fulfilling your vocation.
Not for ourselves alone are we
Born to this life we’re given
You’ve shown us what can be achieved
If we too are truly driven.
You”re our pride and our identity
Loved and held in great respect.
History will remember you
As our beloved “Lillibet.”
We celebrate these seventy years,
Your Platinum Jubilee.
And I, for one, am glad to be,
A subject of your majesty.

The Soup Is Down
Now is the winter of her discontent
It started since no soup was sent
Off into the ether, gone somewhere
I hope someone somewhere hears my prayer
Return her to her soup I beg
She cannot even get out of bed
her fix is needed straight away
She can’t go on another day
She sympathise with any addict
She is now cold turkey who could predict?
Please, please, she needs the good soup back
Her nourishment I know she lacks
She is wasting away before my eyes
Her family are scared tis no surprise
They cajole and tempt with nourishing things
But her soup is all they need to bring
Return her to it I beg you please
her family need her and off her knees
She will return to normal I know
When the soup returns you she will show.
Get well soon PD
I have just adapted an old poem for David Williams contest The soup is Down" I have changed it from 1st person to second person, he didn't like it I hope you do...

Cristina
the world is full of people
who just don't care
they see you need a ride
and leave you standing there
what's the use of friends
if they don't sympathise
and because of different parties
they don't comprimise
yes people can be mean
when they get upset
they show their ugly feeling
and do not act their best
i'm sorry for being one of those
that acted so unkind
i am so ashamed
i kind of lost my mind
please forgive me
for the nasty thing i've done
if this passes by us
then a victory we have won
but please don't denigh us
a friendship just begun

Pastoral
great leaders sup in style
tete a tete, haute cuisine
attentive servants grovel
perfectly pleased to preen
as common soldiers while away
the quick moments of their lives
until the final stanza
battle screams, widowed wives
bullet sandwich breakfast
shrapnel pie for brunch
body bags for supper
**** and mud for lunch
something on the radio
the leader's can't agree
further talks tomorrow
perhaps yet peace may be
advisers are advising
the innocent are dying
beasts and buddhas sympathise
the leaders can't stop lying
but wait there's been a breakthrough
the deals have all been signed
the oil is in the barrels
the gold and jewels mined
communicate the press release
now sated they do order
glorify the martyr's death
the graveyard is a hoarder
a thousand generations now
one more will it matter
think they one more drop of blood
will make the gold cow fatter
why do they wake the bloody beast
why do they profit from it
blue murder in the name of god
by christ they make me vomit

Friendship means everything to me,
It would be a sad existance without
good friends to care for and spend
quality time with.
Friends make life more bareable when
problems arise they are there to
really show they care and sympathise,
sometimes they may do this and not even
realise, that makes the friendship
more special&meaningful.
It is something to be treasured & valued aswell
as maintained as there is so much more
to gain, not in a selfishway
it is to give that brings the most joy to your heart
when you give of yourself in every part.
It gives a sense of happiness when you give
to help make others lives more full-filling
and happier it enriches and refreshes
and most of all strenghthens and deepens
the friendship bond.
May we show others how much we care
by having a caring attitude and always
available to be there for our friends when
they need us the most a true friend
is something worth the boast.

‘A man cold’
By Stanley Russell Harris
The new mad author
& A Poetry Soup honourably mentioned poet
It started with aches and pains you know.
Yet, no swelling did my limbs show.
But every time I moved in bed!
My brain just laughed and said, not yet!
Then my voice began to croak.
I sounded like a frog.
This is no joke.
No one at me did a finger poke.
Then the sneezing and coughing appeared.
My body heaved from them I fear.
Old operation sites began to say.
‘This we do not like today.’
Then the sweats and still the cough.
My nose ran like a tap, I could not turn off.
Then the chills, I felt so cold.
Was it because I was so old?
Then when I stood on my feet.
The room swayed, would I the floor soon meet?
I mean, would I fall off my feet!
As really I felt so weak.
On day five my voice came back.
Now it’s day six and it I do lack.
Oh, did I not say what’s wrong with me?
I have a man cold, you all could see!
Best not, or you might catch it from me.
At the least I hope that’s what I do have.
You don’t want to share it with me.
But if you do, I will sympathise.
Honest, I will, that is no lie.
Just one question I need the answer to know.
‘When will this blinking man cold go?’

I feel so rustic,
The world being in such a haste
Than my normal pace of existence.
As sparks of thoughts form in my brain,
The time takes a giant leap,
And reflects on my novel thoughts
Calling it gibberish before it is born.
Each time I inhale,
The air I take is already putrefying
With the ills and wills of past,
And when I finally exhale,
My body is cleansed
From the suppressed past.
As my heart completes a single beat,
I see the world no more surviving with emotions,
And I feel like an entity, with a bag full of feelings,
That have lost its legitimacy, its significance.
Where is this time going?
My worn-out mind always wonder,
My old heart always sympathise,
My crumbling soul laments,
Everything changes so fast,
The land, the sky, the air,
Losing its appeal, its uniqueness,
As if it is chasing something,
Something much vital than time,
Something too luxurious,
That the world have chosen to cease
Making moments, creating memories,
Living, experiencing, appreciating,
And relishing the God-given life.

The Old me went,
Just disappeared ,
For a time I found it weird ,
But 3 years on,
And now I see,
This bi7c4 will stay .
She killed old me .
And she dont care, and rarely cries ,
I now see through this b@#hes eyes.
I see most people are dumb or rude ,
Or nasty , crass and very crude .
I see I don't really like much folk ,
I find them twats or just a joke .
I see id rather be alone,
No one to complain no one to moan ,
I see the world through open eyes ,
And most people I now despise ,
But judge me not ,youd sympathise , if you saw through this bi7c4es eyes

My mind cannot be at peace
Too much theories and speculations
Ghosts who never leave
Coupled with every disturbing illusions
Trouble without significance
Labeled without an identity
Yet heartfelt bears its substance
Almost a soulless entity
The lesser I thought was more to think
And the more I think… lesser was felt
Walking without sleeping in a living dream
I need not thread with caution but I need help
To feel without touch
To view without eyes
With pity I care too much
And I sympathise with lies
Compelling yet distasteful
The ghosty he who’ll never leave
Dis-spelling though mindful
A mind never to be at peace

We gave up our unity
With each and every barrier;
Abandoned integrity
Ushers in each disaster.
With our “narrow domestic walls”,
We all live in a cocoon;
Do we ever answer Nature’s call?
How do we expect her boon?
We defiled her to the utmost;
Aye! We love to hate;
With our unpremeditated boast,
We’ve brought in such a state.
We endeavoured to 'modernise'
This world of ours;
Nature will now all traumatise;
No lenience of flowers.
Corona’s raid,
Amphan’s dread
Turns us all afraid;
Once, Nature bled.
It’s time, it’s time,
When we must get unified;
Unity should chime,
Else we’ll get more petrified.
It’s the moment, it’s the moment,
When we all must sympathise;
To get rid of such confinement,
Let’s this earth re-naturalise.
With Pride, Envy, Lust,
We’ve made this earth an inferno;
With Greed, with Disgust,
We do suffer the bleeding blow.
One good deed a day,
At least, if we do,
We’ll keep the storms away;
We’ll feel ever-new.
Let’s renovate each thought;
Let’s renovate our aspect;
Things won’t be brought to naught;
Let’s love, and unite, and respect.
