"Life is like a boat tossed on the deep sea
To journey through sunshine and stormy waves." By author

                                               A Lonely Soul

I have strolled alone in the Ganges plains
walked alone in weird wild wilderness
ascended steep hills laid with thorns
                                      trodden alone dense forests
                                         gulped pills of bitterness
                                             waged uphill battles
                                              all through my life
                                                   up till now
                                                       alone
                                                         as
                                                          I
                                                       am a
                                                   lonely soul
                                                sailing my boat
                                             in midst of the sea
                                        braving the stormy waves
at mercy of the wild winds
with only the Lord as my guide
to steer my boat to the rightful port
towards end of my perilous journey.

We Strolled the Broken Sidewalks

We strolled the broken sidewalks
Of a little chilly lake town
Caught between mountains
Talking about art and money
Smelling curiously of aged wood
About who cared anymore for culture
And stopped in to lunch at
A corner cafe where two meals
Cost us twenty because we were hungry
I snapped a photo of the storybook
Book store's curlicue gingerbread
For a moment we were sculpture
Frozen, captured, cast in time
No one important was around to see us
Only a robot Santa and a traffic cop

Eventide Strolled Down the Hills

Dolefully the eventide strolled

Down the hills leaving

Scintilla of hues on horizon

Then yielding to night's decree

 owls hooted in unison

Forlorn fowls sought refuge in groves,

Stray dogs tired of full day's gambolling

searched for shelter,

Gophers still sauntered in far off farms

Groping for grains unaware of the wild cats

Awaiting them in perfidious furrows-

A lone beggar on footpath ate crumbs of bread

He got in alms

Thus the busy day

Its varied opulance

In night's loving lap did lay

Free Cee As I Strolled Past the Past

AS I STROLLED PAST THE PAST

I saw a soul so seductive
A wild woman with wile
Meeting her would have been counter-productive
Because I am a fool given to guile

She strolled by me with a stimulating smile
Yet I simply frowned in response
My life wouldn’t become hers to defile
For I am akin to a candle searching for a sconce

I am a candle being burned at both ends
As the flame heads for the center of wax
I have too many enemies but precious few friends
And love is something reality redundantly redacts

I watched the woman walk wondrously by
But I’ve known too many ladies who lie
They voice falsehoods and then say “goodbye”
As weariness and woefulness grow nigh

They come nearer to me than I need them to be
While the seductive tempt me with a grin
I don’t want to know why they want to know me
Because only a fool would want the scurrilous to begin

You strolled in smiling like a thousand blooms,
My life-breath forgot to breathe for a while;
Cracked creaked desert-like thousand era dooms,
Gleamed and glowed like the smart summer sun's smile.

Our thoughts, like lilies, immaculate, chaste!
Words and deeds like crystal, vivid and clear;
Sharing and caring, like nectar, we taste!
Like celestials, to no danger, we fear!

Don't go away from me, my Love! My Life!
Let love last as long as long length could be!
Finding real joy and hope, be our strife,
Let's stand stern and all changing seasons see!

What if heaven and earth face their fast ends?
Our love for each other to no threat bends!
