I know that life shouldn't be this way
but my day doesn't start till I see your face

Your eyes tell me everything I need to know

My old guitar never cheated, or ever done me wrong
It did help me shed a tear, from a happy cry
It was there keeping company, when the night got to long
And even made my family smile, when daddy died
This old guitar makes me warm, when I get cold

My old guitar helped me find, my beautiful lovely wife
The night I was playing it, in a local bar
It helped me find true love, for the rest of my life
It even helped me get the money, to buy a brand new car
