Premium Member Mileage On My Heart

The thought of seeing you again fills me with dread
I know the day will come; it’s inevitable
Mileage on my heart, feels like a worn out retread
Recycled emotions are undesirable

I know the day will come; it’s inevitable
My spirits sink at the mere mention of your name
Recycled emotions are undesirable
There was once a time your face set my heart aflame

My spirits sink at the mere mention of your name
What happened to those days? You were my special man
There was once a time your face set my heart aflame
This point we’ve reached was surely not in our game plan

What happened to those days? You were my special man
Our spring turned to winter faster than I could blink
This point we’ve reached was surely not in our game plan
Stop the world, let me off; I’m standing on the brink

Our spring turned to winter faster than I could blink
Mileage on my heart, feels like a worn out retread
Stop the world, let me off; I’m standing on the brink
The thought of seeing you again fills me with dread

Premium Member Infinite Flight

Seems I awakened within a dream flying, though staying within
the dream, as an eagle I soared. With wings of immense importance
not to miss a journey, into the great cosmos. I did coast with
consummate ease, where ever it pleased, the nature of my thoughts.
My thoughts were master of my flight in spite, of the area of human
doubts. Past the lunar divide, expansions parallel into the golden waves
and particles of light. Soaring the benefit, of starlit universe around
the milky way, I swayed, a part of the paranormal of it all; then I heard
a rumbling voice as if clearing a throat.

Of this author’s spoken words, I will spurge, some of development within
my dismissal free of any feelings of poor human mind. Human mind laid
aside, within ample bosoms’ peace I did reside, as the absolute testified
having none greater than of infinity's assets to enjoy.

My Host said, ”I am the first and the last, no part of me is of the past,
nor of the future logic of any human project. I have given of myself
to everything, the planets, the stars, the sun and the moon.
My power and beauty is unfettered, secured for, if revered,
for the paranormal expanse of humans who advance by any
 moral degree.”

Furthermore, Host said, “There is coming of the human logic a dread,
where the rubber meets the road, a retread. A recompense of the
offence must be bled, though love regrets to collect it has damages.”

These were encouraging words, "as by my thoughts", an eagle I soared,
through the midnight starlight I steered as my conscience cleared. Eagle
led off, "by my thoughts", to my bed. Quite confident I laid my soul upon
my bed. Although the human mind frayed by this expedience I promise
that I was awake all this time, without any human mistake!

Oh! My Valentine

Lo! What a fine day it is
All the creatures are basking in bliss.

The sunlight has found his essence in the rippling river
Look the way it flows and dance,
Gleaming and singing passionately by making her voice quiver.

Listen! To the buzz of the honey bees,
The Queen has found her mate and the drones, environ them and relish,
Outshine them with golden grains of pollen and scatter nectar all the way for a
royal retread.

Listen! To the breeze cool, calm and composed
Murmuring in its own way, some song for you and me,
heralding the onset of the day of love, which I possess for thou my beloved.
Watch! The leaves are shaking and the flowers pouring upon us from that
teasing tree.

The birds in couples, like cupid stricken,
are flying in harmony, high under the shy sky.

It’s the ambience of love my valentine
And with thy charm and gaze, thrice its size blooms the eglantine.

Let’s inherit all the love of earth, sky and water
And make a dazzling dwelling made solely of love, which amongst all gems
shine and glitter.

Sparrow on a ledge
Needed help but told no one
Vanished overnight
Her smile now missed by neighbors
Lights out again on Park Lane

Foreclosure’s victim
Few ever visited her
Had we known her plight
This senior we might have saved
Elderly and abandoned

Premium Member If We Only Believe

Why are we here on earth,
because the Lord has something for us each to do.
He has not told us what it is,
but it is not to pine over lost love.
It is said he never gives us more then we can handle,
we just need to work at finding our way.
Life can not always be peaches and cream,
we must be ready to take the bad with the good.
Life will not always be what we expect it to be,
we must open our eyes that we may see.
A person should never feel they are not needed,
we need someone and someone needs us.
Though it may not be the person we want it to be,
someone is out there it may just be a matter of time.
To grieve over a lost love one is to be expected,
to go through life alone is not what anyone expects.
We need only to open our eyes and believe...
I am needed ...I am wanted ...by someone.
Someone is out there waiting for me,
a real live human Being...I just need to believe.

When Peace Departs

Peace dwells in mind
Peace is an occurrence of harmony in mind
Where it treads violence retread in fear
Peace is never armed but shields itself in honesty
It it silences conflict behaviors
And ushers in the freedom from fear
Those who adapt peace
It means life today, tomorrow and beyond
Those who ignore her
When she goes they live to regret it
Those who kick her
When she goes they remain wailing
She ensures they see hell live on earth
In her absence murders and massacres show faces
Rapes, pillaging, bloodletting and blood baths ensue
As laments for the dead, and funeral rites parade emotions
Peace watch from a distance waiting for men of senses
To think and recall with purpose or
Else more minds are lost but for the worst.

Muddy Melody

there's a song stuck in my head
ba da da daaaahhh...
not a lot, but a bit of a bar
ba da da deeeee...
spinning 'round my ears too near
never able to get out of there, i fear
it'll never set me free

i can't hear it's lyrical words
the band's name i'm unable to perceive
just burnt bridges 'n' stanza's
is all i got command a
the whole song's impossible to retrieve

i can't recall who sung it
nor can i recall the composer's name*
ba da da da - a few notes is all
i seem to recall but
it's stuck spinning just the same

when i'm looooong gone and dead,
i think i'd rather not hum instead
that darn song 'll still be in my head
to fill my afterlife with dread
bedamned reincarnated melody retread
oh, still that song stuck in my head
it's too hard to make it out - or to believe

* After driving me crazy to the point of poetic
composition, I auditorially searched my extensive
Pat Metheny collection, since I suspected
it was one of his, and finally came upon:
Pat Metheny Group-2002-Speaking Of Now-08-Afternoon
which is a very good song to get stuck in,
if you've gotta get stuck

The Defiance of Eve

and lastly I'd like to thank my agent
Shifty Placard unkempt as they come
nutty as squirrel cheeks at the Ritz
a little like Santa Claus and Nero
Shifty made me walk the line
between the rolling green hills of home
and a great vacuuming nothingness
made me grow extra fingers and toes
to feebly hang on with
Shifty wasn't all bad but
you couldn't love him like a bag of fries
he wanted the whole chinchilla
his little heart a wiggling volcano
yes an eater of souls but hey
souls far too often beg for it
based on observation mind you
we all dance screaming and chanting
clutching our genitalia in holy ardor
a spectacle of the damned if you ask me
they can buy you with smoke and mirrors
and I'll have no part of it
well maybe just a little reflection
I know that wasn't proper
time to take evasion
nothing quite so effective for a life on the run
as a well packed suitcase
that's the entirety of my wisdom
but then there may be
a more appropriate momentary abstraction
so I shifted to a new agent
The Great Mundayne
and have been enjoying an easy retirement
at the Home of the Holy Retread
in a race against senility and publication
and always remember kids to
um I forget
it's the law of the jungle out there
the jungle part is real
the other is a functional if occasional overlay
a sea of hard infrastructure assets which
Mundayne’s assistant Vaselina Nudelman
had in spades undertaker spades
she triggered street lamp photocells
and her lips sparkled when she spoke
too much horsepower for the pavement
I'm going to do you
like I did Mr. President she said
in a voice like honey with ants
needless to say I fell
her spasms were remarkable
she had a bee hive between her legs
and the lights went out all across town
the key is how you got here
your soul is your ability to look inside
it doesn't need will to act
it needs the expectation
of an improved model

Premium Member In the Mood For Love Again

Impulsive were the days of youth,
Nattered all through busy evenings,

Thrived to exaltation, absolutely naive,
Harmonious cheerful charm is now a history,
Extravagant fancy now a great mystery,

Modesty with age took a sharp turn,
Obsession faded, as if never will return,
Over the years gone far more sluggish,
Downswing, could it perpetually stay ?

Forgives itself nothing always is youth,
Overwhelmingly pardoned everything is age,
Retread reminiscence !

Longevity of lust with a vengeance ,
Overbold, badly in need of discipline,
Vacuity sobbed and bawled like sick,
Ebullience soon awakens endurance !

And vigour turns vernal as much again,
Golden moments regain their lost sheen,
Apart from heartbeats' rhyme, souls in unison,
Immaculate passion returns with full punch,
No worries of life, ecstasy takes a hunch !

Premium Member The Ghosts of Altoona

Some daysI feel it's time to move and
live by the sea, especially when the ghosts of
Altoona are haunting me..
Many cities in Pa., so rich in history,

They were hey days in their time.
It's no mystery...
This once-booming railroad town
is still being visited by those now underground..
Home to the infamous Horse Shoe Curve, with
its one-way tunnel that will truly unnerve..
Many unsuspecting drivers attempted to navigate
and met their swift untimely fate...
At 17th Street, a circus train derailed. Again, many
lost their lives as the animals all bailed.
Just like a used tire that manufacturers retread,
some people that die by accident are unaware that they are dead.
Most days I just pray and ask them to kindly move on, for
the ghosts of Altoona, I wave my magic wand.

CRAZINESS OF THIS BLOODY WORLD,
sense of humor gets unfurled ,
brain gets in a whirl ,
sometimes...
My crazed bro wanted to murder me
cos he'd come off the zolof intentionally,
with beer as an appetiser,
is johnson any the wiser,
clean out the rats nest he said,
so we were all to be struck dead
nope - this time Eliza...

Lost Words

Lost Words

It was only later
After seeing him hooked up to a ventilator

That I realized what he had said
And a reflection came that I would later retread

For deep down inside I always knew
That my dad was there for me as I grew

He was harsh and intense on occasion
Some would even call it abrasion

But there was that other side
When we were alone me along for the ride

He did his duty as a father
Bringing home the bacon with little bother

But the lessons taught
Were what I bought

How to strive
To stay alive

To be the best I can be
For all to see

Have kindness for my fellow man
Help wherever I can

Be a father to a son
Be there to protect everyone

Give a care
If you dare

That tomorrow will be a better day
When you get ego out of the way

As I sit here to lament
I recall those lost words he had repent

After waiting all those long years
And though he is long gone they still bring me tears

Those lost words you ask “I love you…”

Embrace Finality, Expand Reality

Life is not finite
We live to live
Not solely to find our place in the limelight
Be and Exist
A tryst must be made to come true
Do not evade and elude
Life is your chance to be you
Shudder at commonality
True vitality is found only in duality, or three-ality
Escape reality and exist where and how you wish
We can only BE
When we see the big picture
Do not accept fixture or fixation
Become a mixture of elation and excitement
Enlighten the mind so that life may not bind you
Instead, retread previous ground
Abound and rejoice in your choice to inspire
Revel in the muck and the mire
It may just wipe clean the stain of wasted time transpired

Bitter Golden Pill

I'm living life stuck in the past
To see the light where I lived only dark
A marathon like a walk in the park
That's my perspective on the past

A wind chime's song in a hurricane
The greatest pleasure from the deepest pain
And crappy times all feel like blasts

It's a bitter little pill
The kind when you don't swallow fast enough
The taste of advil and a blind man's bluff
And leaves you shaking with the chill

Finding meaning where it's all gone wrong
Doesn't mean much when all of these songs
Repeat forever, ever shrill

I'm in a static wonderland
What could I tell you about this whole year
Beyond the fact that I can't shake these fears
That have me grasped within their hand

You know it's bad when I'm calling for her
The kind of death I can't say I'd prefer
Yet at the moment sounds so grand

So does it matter anyway?
Won't I look back on these blurry days
Far in the future with my heart ablaze
And retread this tired old cliche?

And so tell me, when does this all end?
Cursed forever to repeat these trends
And live eternally in gray

I'm falling deep into the sky
Endless waves of green amongst the blue
Forever reaching out for a redo
And retread all my paths as I

To take advantage of the things I've learned
Repair the bridges that may have been burned
And save ourselves the need to cry

Hello there, I'm you from beyond
Tell me, how's this world of solid gold?
What's it like to never have known cold?
Are you treasuring these bonds?

All the things that I want you to know
I couldn't say before I'd have to go
So know, you live for all I've longed.
