My first doll
smelled like chocolate
and her skin
just as dark
I adored her

Innocent as I was
I could have
never imagined
anyone remotely
resembling
my precious doll
could have been
committing
the equivalent of a crime
punishable
by the worst
kind of persecution
and abuse

Whoever bought
me that beautiful doll
was making damn sure
there would be
one less dirty bigot
in this bizarre world
we live in

Ever so proudly
as I clenched to my heart
my best little friend
I was blissfully unaware
I was making a statement
back in dark days of 1962

Is science an everchanging paradigm
akin to poetry’s everchanging rhyme

interpreted by those who never write
yet keep a dark thesaurus out of sight

and so when I place paper beneath pen
I seldom rate the outcome “lose or win”.

One breakthrough gave the surgeons laughing fits
when told, “between your cutting - wash your mitts”

as poets play the game of “almost rhymes”
comparing it to misdemeanor crimes

not punishable with a failing grade
a shallow grave filled in without a spade.

As poets who doctor soul with wit
ramble on and don’t know when to quit

science will not learn the lessons taught
folded within the dust of crumpled thought.

Witchology 101

When pilgrims first arrived upon Plymouth’s shores,
They were wary of Indian customs and things they didn’t know-
Suspect of the Indians having powers from the devil, and more,
The belief of witches inside their own colonies did grow-

Witchcraft suspicions weren't confined to one colony alone,
Many believed Satan himself could possess both body and soul-
Behavior was questioned - whether outside or inside a home,
And accusations towards those disliked - sometimes a personal goal-

In 1642, Connecticut made witchcraft punishable by death,
And for 108 years it remained as a capital crime-
Twelve executed before 1692 crying “innocent” until their last breath,
Witch-hunts became more prolific, right after this time-

Witch trials are a period of dark history for us,
Mass hysteria flourished in Massachusetts, Salem town-
When eight girls ate rye fungus then acted odd and made a fuss,
“BEWITCHED” the doctor said, for no cause of illness could be found-

Initially only three accused, but the list grew as time went on,
Until thirty were identified as witches by the end-
Both men and women were named and it didn’t take long,
For the infamous Salem Witch Trials to begin-

Nineteen women were hanged on Gallows Hill in 1692,
And a man not answering charges, was pressed to death by stones-
Fifty more died in prison awaiting trial for witchcraft review,
The court would convict on verbal testimony alone-

Only one of the eight trial judges had a conscientious reaction,
Presiding Judge Samuel Sewall, publicly apologized five years later-
For his condemnations, he felt a tremendous dissatisfaction,
Begging for forgiveness, his remorse couldn’t have been greater-

In 1750, witchcraft was removed as a crime in our colonial society,
The Puritans who had fled the grasps of England’s persecuting hand-
And tasted freedom had gained some bad notoriety,
When they persecuted those different, on their new American land-

Year 2423

I was born in the year 2423,
gestated in an artificial womb successfully
I drank the nutri-milk
from the dangling nubs on the synthetic tendril teat
I ate the petri-flesh
from the germ-free, sterile laboratory grown meat
My mother and father was the State,
my sister and brother was the corporate Company
I was trained in the art of industrial security,
because it’s a dangerous world
in the year 2443

I don’t have a name, but I got a number
I have a sure aim at anyone who wanders
onto Company property —
a crime punishable by death,
executed by me
I am the judge and the jury
It’s a very dangerous world, you see,
in the year 2453

Got sent on secret mission to the Wasteland,
where the mutated live underground,
beneath the irradiated sand
Went searching for #050279X
She stole a proprietary cure
for anyone stricken with the malware virus,
electronically transmitted by virtual sex
Had my cover blown, now they’re hunting me
It’s an uber dangerous world indeed,
as I fight for my survival
in the year 2463

I got cut off from Mother for the first time,
by a massive surge in solar neutrino energy
It’s strange living without direction,
no automated voice to help guide me
My internal logic neural circuits
suggests a disturbing probability
That I was sent on a ghost mission,
(with no chance of success theoretically,)
to die in the field with honor, most nobly
I am self-aware now,
in the year 2473

The tenth year of living dangerously
has become very familiar to me ...
as I drift through the Wasteland
living mind-control free
After forty years of active service,
I understand now that I had become obsolete
An expendable Company soldier,
born a slave of the State in 2423

Got freed when I got older,
by a quirk in celestial mechanics unpredictability
And now I understand with brilliant luminosity —
living free is the best danger there can ever be

What Makes Friendship

What makes distance so touchable,
What makes arm wrestling physical,
What makes fun a thing for two,
What makes tears of missing you,
What makes secrets last, insiders,
What makes smiles, to be tear-wipers,
What makes fighting, ugh, forgivable,
What makes forgiving unbearable,
What makes oops somewhat culpable,
What makes cleanup punishable,
What makes laughs, the one-legged wins,
What makes others say, "Not twins?",
What makes saying goodbye really hard,
What makes memories my field of regard.

Cynicism With a Capital Sin

Cynicism with a Capital Sin.
Nothing breaking in the news today just reruns of another school shooting and gay/gun rights.
Black lives matter but Death knows no prejudice.
Gun control? I thought it was people who killed people.
Murder has become some sort of fad every one wants a pair.
And as always I am out of style.

I never thought I'd see the day when the world would fiend for hope like it was dope. "Hey Man, you know where I can score some positivity?"

I was even incarcerated for not committing a crime.
Kindness: If found guilty. 1 year plus fines and court cost.
Helpfulness: 25 to life.
Humanity: Punishable by death.

This man killed a classroom full of kids. Where's police brutality when you need it?

It's funny how advanced we are in our primitivity.
Yes you can buy a scope with the crucifixion of Christ as your cross hairs.
One day tragedy will be so common that happiness will make the headlines.
It's so subtle that you'll never notice the world is spinning backwards.

Premium Member Dainty Ladybug Sandwich

She gives me a sassy knowing dare me grin as she begins to devour her ladybug sandwich.
I watch her crown nod up and down in rhythmic quiet as she eats in gargantuous bites.
In fascinated horror, I try to imagine taking my turn, and pretending a normalness.
I know what will happen if I balk in any way, even a blink, at partaking of the country’s delicacy.
I dare not offend, knowing I had better gobble mine down in gloriously grateful gulps.
The others in the hall have stopped eating to watch me, they are nearly silent now.
We all listen to the queen’s exaggerated chomping and gulping, meant to bully, and they do.
It would be a giant mistake to insult her majesty with close-minded ways. It is only a lady bug sandwich.
She gives me an almost imperceptible nod. It is my turn to make this dish look enormously delicious.
The masses are watching. Retching would be the largest insult, maybe punishable by death.
Not wanting to add a second of insult to their culture’s delicacy, I pick up my sandwich, picturing potato chips.
Salty, delicious, tiny bits of potato chips, I tell my mind. Only potato chips. And lady bugs! My mind yells.
I stop chomping, suddenly fearful. My mind is betraying me. I already have acid reflux. I wait in horror
As my delicious sandwich begins to rise, suddenly, and with a horrible feeling of dread.
The guards move forward with their machetes, waiting.

Infertility

Infertility
Is it a communicable disease?
Is it a blemish to the family?
Is it a detestable status?
Is it an inferior sort?
Is it a shameful disability?
Is it an imperfect position?
Is it a non-human prototype?
Is it a punishable crime?
Is it a reason to be isolated?
Is it a divine curse?
Is it an unholy living?
Is it an immoral sin?
Is it an incomplete existence?
Isn't it a blessing to become an adoptive parent?

Spontaneous Stigmata Surfacing

Spontaneous sulfurous stigmata sinisterly surfacing
Membranous molecules meticulously masterfully marshaling
Tangible tempestuous tears tangling thoughts
Radical revelation revealing ruinous rots
Pious priests patronize punishable penance
Impious illusions intrigue impacting independence
Narcotizing nefarious noxious naves navigate
Prioritizing pains portal pandemic perpetrate
False fixation fumigates fragmental fatal fury
Defaults determine damaged destructive demons dreary

Able and Cannot

They say, in the end, that family will always be there.
I have learned that this is a lie...
If for Any reason you are NOT ABLE,
	Then FOREVER you cannot.
They say that family is unbreakable,
If you ever need help, they're dependable.
		Family is valuable.
		Family is reliable.
They say that family is where you can be comfortable.
		Family Love is durable.
I have learned that Family Love is changeable.
		It can be debatable.
If for Any reason you are NOT ABLE,
	THEN FOREVER YOU CANNOT.
They no longer consider you valuable.
Their forgiveness is unattainable.
Their Love was not unconditional.
Their Love was not unchangeable.
	Because I once was unable
		I became unforgivable.
			dispensable.
		punishable, forgettable.
And now because of Family
			It is completely un-fixable.

Poet's Notes:
Are you a Christian?
(1) Matthew 9:13 - [Then he added, "Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: 'I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.' For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.]
(2) John 8:7 [Then they reminded Jesus that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Jesus thought for a moment and then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.”]
(3) 1 John 4:20-21 [20 If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21 And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.]
(4) Matthew 9:14 [Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."]
Proverbs 31: [Paraphrase: A good woman may be a man's helper, but she is never his possession!]

Embezzlement

Bad people, who're less fortunate that the others, would do anything to get their hands on
the money, and one of them is stealing. People who built their big businesses and small
businesses from the ground-up suspect that their money's been stolen. It's been like that
since the beginning, especially when these so-called "partners" started working together.
Those greedy individuals, who are stealing money from his or her built-up companies for
selfish needs, will have been arrested for embezzlement. These people should realize that
they're stealing money from their employers.Everybody knows that embezzlement is a felony
offense, which is punishable up to 18 to either 20 or 30 years in prison. All of the
business owners must be the first ones to know that their so-called "good employers" are
taking a large sum of money from their built-up companies, including a fashion store, and
stuff. All hard-working people must notice if these bad people are stealing to support
themselves. It makes everybody sick just thinking about it. Now that all of the business
owners know that their employers have been taking their hard-earned money to either
support their families or themselves and/or for his or her selfish needs, they're going to
prison for embezzlement, grand larceny, and grand theft. All types of stealing have got to
stop because if it doesn't there's no telling what bad thing might happen next.
