A Memorable Person

On a train going south on business
For what seemed an eternity,
I chanced upon a memorable man
Who changed the path of my destiny

He was itinerant to look at
With tatty coat and shabby shoes,
An unshaven face, his hair unkempt
And string, as a belt on his ‘trews’

He boarded the train, peoples heads dropped
For fear that his gaze they’d meet
He walked down the aisle, disappointed,
As no-one would give up a seat

I offered the seat beside me
He thanked me for making the space
I replied with a sincere ‘you’re welcome’
And a smile warmed his weathered face

He asked me about my journey
And I asked of his in return
I felt in my heart, that by talking to him
There was much about life I could learn

I bought us both refreshments
As he told of his life’s history,
Once in a while I would interject
With a small anecdote about me

Behind the shabby persona,
Was a man of intelligent mind
He’d lived on the edge in finance,
Made his fortune, left it behind

As his bank account grew he’d lost everything
His family, his friends, his wife
He’d found out, too late, and at great cost
That there was so much more to life

‘You have to stop and smell the roses,
Make some time for those you hold dear’
And as he spoke, down his rugged cheek
I saw the track of a small, salty tear
As we reached the end of our journey
He clasped my hand at our time to part,
He thanked me for my company
And told me I had a good heart

When I got to my lonely hotel room,
I called my daughters on the phone
And told them ‘we’ll be together soon
I’m taking some time off when I get home.’

Sometimes it takes a chance meeting
To give your whole life a shake
I felt I had met my ‘Hermes’
And now had decisions to make

When I got home, I made a decision
The missed years with my girls I’d amend,
My life took a different direction
All down to my indigent friend

You can’t judge a man on appearance
But if you look in their eyes you can,
I knew in the instant I gave up the seat
I had met a remarkable man.

Riding For Independence

We have been riding for ever so long;
Now our search for our freedom seems to be gone.
We only took; of that which we need;
And we had no tricks; hidden there up our sleeve.

For me it began when the banker came round;
And my daddy's ranch; was burned to the ground.
We were all wanted, with a price on our heads;
And we hoped if they found us, we’d fight till we're dead.

We lived life as outlaws, with weapons at hand;
And if time comes for hanging, we'll die like a man.
But we’re not alone, there are others around;
They're not hard to notice, they’re wearing a frown.

So they're building our gallows, nail by nail;
And we think hard about it, here in this jail.
But we made our choices; and then we got caught;
Yet we lived life as free men, never owned never bought.

From the view out the window, it's people I see;
They're tipping their hats; and smiling at me.
We may be convicted, but we're not disgraced;
And you won't see a tear, running down from our face.
.
So they plan to kill us, but our kind will not end;
There's cowboy’s now out there; who'll ride once again.
Me and the boys, we ran out of time;
But there will be others that come down the line.

So To all of you worms; who crawl in the dung;
You'll never stop hearing, the songs that we've sung.
You're hoping to change us, or get rid of us all;
But if we all ride as free men, perhaps you will fall.

Premium Member Arrogance

What open display of arrogance!
Only fools would dare to chance
Do we know what tomorrow brings,
Just around and beyond the bend?
This desperation blinds you so,
And your mind in need of a mend
Such wasted time spent scavenging
The personal lives of others
Diligently searching for rotten fodder!

So much joy and pleasure you've found,
In this insatiable hunger for hate
Too far advanced that it'll not dissipate!
Self destruction, the path you are on,
Always conveyed by a toxic attraction
Darkness, misery your proud domain
But a house of dead fruit.. my disdain
Like children, playing games at being wise
You will learn, life tames and cuts to size!

So, show your "beautiful" colors,
Your elegant garb for the world to see
By day or night, light pierces the dark,
Truth is alive and forever will be!
A life of delusion is not worth a dime
The trail you leave is indicative by slime
Never far behind, there it goes! Watch it spew!
The name tag you wear plainly for all to view

Premium Member The Girl With the Golden Eye

The Girl with the Golden Eye
often looks upward to the sky
She likes to watch the moon
She dances to a song of her own choosing.

She peers into dark shadows
She basks in the early morning sun
She dives deep into the depths
Where she knows the deepest currents run.

She lives her life for all the seasons
She loves both the present and the past
She holds on to all life's moments
She treasures every golden breath.

She knows life is but an inhale, an exhale,
A single blinking of an eye
Brief as the flickering of a candle
Fast as the clouds chasing the sky.

Let Me Introduce Myself

Let me introduce myself,
to you and only you.
I have dreams,
but none of them have been told.
I have thoughts,
but none of them have been said.
I have feelings,
but they are trapped away,
under lock and key; were they will stay.

I want more,
out of the life I live.
I want to learn,
and gain the knowledge to be a success.
I want to feel all the emotions,
that life has to give;
hatred, sadness, happiness and love.
I want to be,
hated, mourned, rejoiced, and loved.
I want to be seen,
and be present.
I want not to be unseen,
standing by the sidelines, feeling un-content.

I need to know, what my purpose is.
But who am I to say what I need,
demand what I want?
What makes me better than anyone else?
What makes you better than me?
Questions, questions,
with no answer’s.
Still I ask myself everyday,
when will I introduce myself,
to the world, in this way?

We Are All of a Simile

In this world, we encounter things in which we realize.
In this world, what lies within us, is only the facts of life.

Within this world, we are to overcome our fears and factualization.
And from within this world, I've have overcome the painful rifes:

My mother is like a psychiatric person who had stopped taking their medication
Because every time, she seems to be able to kill every day with her own self-frustration.

My father is like a hypocritical liar who cannot stick to one statement at a time
Because everything he says he will do to make everything better always just does the same
thing like my mother; another senseless crime.

My sister is like a prudent princess who has her ups and downs.
Because she is strong in what she believes in, along with the fact that she expects a lot out of
me and from all around.

My best friend is like a lost animal being driven away from the current of the sea,
Because she and I are no longer the best of friends we used to be.

My nephew is like the little angel that gave all his light to the earth
Because ever since he had shown his light, he had been called back Home to watch the
miracles rebirth.

My nephew's little brother is like a bundle of joy that constantly reminds me of his older
brother in respect and honor,
Because everything he did, every little laugh that came out of his little mouth, was as
inspiring as his older brother's voice that always pondered.

My friends are like those caffeine products that exceed excitement
Because every time I seem to have fallen down, they are always the ones to be my
enlightenment.

My enemies are like those prying voices that seem to try to break through my mind
Because with all their might they try to fill my life with echoing lies tend to become entwined.

My life is like a roller coaster that has its ups, downs, and also its broken stops from
dysfunction
Because of all the tragic twist and turns of events that are attracted to my distinction.

My reflection of my own self is like those lying mirrors found in a fun house,  created to lie;
Because from things that I have been influenced with; lying comes very easily to me with no
one even bothering to ask why.

Life Isn'T Fair

Life isn't fair when other people make it big

But I'm happy where I am,living my life how it is.

Life isn't fair when somebody else rides for free.

Well, some lucky and some aint, that's the way that I see it.

life isn't fair when your wife leaves you for your friend

Well, that's okay,I knew that the marriage was gonna end.

Life isn't fair when your best friend die.

Well,he stole my wife and shot my dog with a nine.

Life isn't fair when burglars break into your house.

Well, that's okay I was going to throw everything out.

Why Oh Why don't you care that the world aint fair?

It's not the world who aint fair or the world who don't care.
It's the people who don't care and the people who aint fair.

Premium Member All Creatures Great and Small

All creatures great and small,
from the smallest microbe to the largest animal of all.
Our living planet provides life for a mass variety of species.
Marine life is full of massive numbers of species of great diversity.
Bacteria, crustaceans, fishes, mammals, amphibians and also jellies.
Land dwelling life also has many life specie variations
Bacteria, Insects, reptiles, birds, worms
and among the mammals are us humans,
and the last variety of other life species that are also important to mention
exist beneath our deepest oceans and seas
as well as far as on land one can see.
The millions of different species of vegetation.
We may think ourselves the specie most superior
but no life is worth more or less than any other.
All creatures great and small
have an unalienable right
to their one and only life
however great or small.

Forest Gump

Forrest Gump

No simpler a life and greater a voice,
one who struggled with stigma,
learned by other’s choice.
Held simple words to heart, made sense when others not,
never wavered in fear,
was patient to a fault.
Kindness was all, he felt all the time.
He whispered her name,
time after time.
His heart on his sleeve so innocent and true
no greater words,
than his Momma knew.
Believed in his job a soldier so proud
Saved all his men ,
a hero not proud.
With Bubba his friend, his life he went on
Loved all he could,
with empty arms.
All his life lessons, he knew way before
emotional intelligence
right to the core.
He ran through his life, on a road traveled by few
A hero, successful,
a heart pure and true.
And though we may bother with status and flair
He showed us the way,
to handle life’s cares.
No moaning and groaning or pity and hate
Momma always said,
“Life’s like a box of chocolates
never know what you get.”

Premium Member I Dont Want To Fight

I don’t want to fight
Please just do what’s right

This is not the life we expected
But what it is can’t be rejected

It’s about more than you and I
Each mistake we make results in Her cry

This was not Her choice
We never heard Her voice

This unfortunate situation
Has resulted in visitation

Her life revolved around both you and me
Why is this so difficult for you to see?

Hurting me hurts Her too
In the end, the only one losing is you

She may be too young to understand
But, one day She’ll know what it means to be a man

She will know what you have done
And that daddy’s not always “FUN”

She will look back and realize
That daddy did tell lies

She knows right from wrong
You and I both taught her that song

She loves you unconditionally
So let’s please do things peacefully

Think of Her needs before your own
Try your best not to moan and groan

Let Her happiness be your guide
And she will forever be by your side

This is our one and only chance to get it right
Let Her life be our light

My only request; please see the light
I promise you; I don’t want to fight!
For her sake; let’s just get it right!

Constantin Brancusi's "the Column Without End"

There once was a man who talked to the stone
Calming down all its fears of being alone
They spent all his life synchronized into shape
At one point - both realized there was no escape

"I'll turn you into a "Bird", "A Silent Muse"and a "Kiss"
and so many sculptures..." - the artist promised -
"I'll give you myself "... So he used all his talent
Thus carving immortality - "The Column Without End"

Erected in Romania - reminder of his roots
The cycle of life in rhombuses salutes
The Heavens from which Brancusi looks down
At his "Gate", "Silent Table" and his old, native town.

A Hand From Me...

Songs of a lullaby. Sound of a cry.
Parts of my life are whole, others I try to fill before I die.
Why do we feel like we'll always be alone when we pass up the last love?
Why don't we see that we have hope all around us sent from above?
Why do people not love their neighbor as they used to?
Why do most of us feel a little used and see through?
Reach out your hand and I'll hold on.
If I reach out mine will you hold strong?
Reach out to the person beside you.
They may be dying inside.
Let them know that life is worth the ride.
If our hands touch the world will be connected.
With love every person will be infected.
Maybe that's what we should do.
Here's a hand from me to you.

The Under Cover Cop

He is a special breed, for a special deed
You would never know by the way that he looks
He has nerves of steel. heart becomes cold
But his goal is a special deed
A renegade, can't always do it by the book'
His life is always on hold

He dress he dresses like a out law, still inside the law
He has to blend in and not be found out
No matter what kind of crime, he has to talk the talk
Make them think that he is out law
No room for any doubt
He is dead if he can't walk the walk

Gets down in their cesspool
Smells the same smell that they do
Walking a tight rope all the time
No room for any kind of fool
Not the regular man in blue
But he knows how to get the slime

The thing that they hate the most is a :snitch"
If found out he could get blown away
In my book they are the cream of the crop
He loves to tell a criminal in cuffs,"Yeah life is a b...tch
You could not get me to do that on his pay
Thank God for the under cover cop

Existence

Waiting for the last drop of the sun to be evaporated,
And the last bus of my day to pack me away to…
Home,
My eyelashes fluttered from piles of human to piles of human
 Wriggling …
A girl with eyes bended over mobile and spreading pink flushed cheeks.
Had someone just told that she was the last beautiful girl alive in the earth?
A middle-aged man frowning furiously with floating head.
Who stole his happiness?
An octogenarian woman oscillating like an octopus.
How life was draining away from her!
A crooked nose with sunken eyes eyeing me up made me tighten my face.
Did he somewhere in his life dream of an unpolluted soul?
On the other…
A boy busily took his gaze away when mine happened to meet his.
How was he designed to disbelief?
A restless kid pouring the pinks and yellows of the sunrise.
Where is life going to land him?
Oh! Never will I know!
Perhaps the answer will remain untouched forever.
How many unknown faces I meet every day!
Do they even exist when they are not covered by my eyesight?
Is it so mandatory for these piles of human to flood into one quoted part of my life?
And stay just for a while and float away?

Through Others Eyes

Through Others Eyes

I often see him sitting there as I wander through the park. Always on the same bench, staring at the scene before him. His face mostly without expression, never smiling or acknowledging a ventured wave or nod. I wonder what thoughts and experiences are hidden behind the dark lenses that always cloak his eyes.

Today I stop and take a seat beside him. I am startled by his hello. I return his greeting and remark on the beauty of the day. He agrees and relates how much he enjoys the smell of the lilacs and the sound of the trees stirring in the breeze.

He likes to hear the traffic on the nearby street, and the voices that surround him as
they pass him by. He comments on the pigeons that scurry around our feet, looking for the next handout. I usually bring some bread crumbs he says as I know they will be waiting

I ask him if he lives nearby. He says no, he must take the bus to come here. A small price to pay to experience the life that lingers in the park he says. The days are ever changing and the sights and sounds do not repeat themselves. Life moves through here with bold steps he says. Much can be learned if we just sit and observe.

I must admit you see much more then me, I say. Much of what you see I pass by without cognizance. It is refreshing to observe things through others eyes.

I see the first sign of a smile Just a slight curling at the corners of his mouth. He rises and says he must be going. From his pocket, he withdraws a folded white cane and opens it to its fullest.

He turns in my direction, thanks me for the visit and says “I hope to see you again”.
Then with a muted tap, tap, tap, he slowly walks away.
