I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene. Jesus is too colossal for the pen of phrasemongers, however artful." He further added: "No man can read the gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life...Theseus and other heroes of his type lack the authentic vitality of Jesus. -Albert Einstein

When I die, please don’t cry
Instead, I beg – look to the sky
Where my spirit soars, flying high
A light, a love – this is not goodbye

When I die, don’t mourn the end
Instead, know you were a true friend
Gentle prayers you would always send
A story of hope on which I could depend

When I die, please look to the light
Where my soul lives on, it’s such a sight
Trembling and rising, with all my might
Knowing God’s presence makes it all right

When I die, don’t listen to those tears
They tell the story of doubts and fears
Listen, instead, to the joy through the years
Joy that comes to believers when death nears

When I die, please remember my life
And say a soft thank you for His sacrifice
Because He lived and died, faced the strife
We can know the love that comes in the afterlife

When I die, don’t believe the worry or dread
When she says I’m gone – despite what she said
Know that I’m still alive, even though my body’s dead
I live in the presence of God, eating heaven’s bread

When I die, please don’t weep for me
Just think!!! – I’m finally free
In His presence, you surely agree
I’ll find a bigger love than the largest sea

When I die, don’t grieve for what has been
Heed the light that flows, so serene
Remember I was loved by Him, though He was unseen
Because of His great gift, I’ll always love the Nazarene.

Black Nazarene
Christ of dark brown skin
Miraculous healer
Refuge of the believer
Image replicated from an old burnt homage
Carrier of the cross in pilgrimage
Housed in Quiapo church of the East
Roused the penitents of yearly feast
Savior of the strong and weak
Strength of the devouts that speak

Silent Symphonies of the Nazarene Night

Silent symphonies surrender the Nazarene night,
Where empty hearts splendor within the white…
A child is born amongst ambient Angels alight,
Where all adorn within a manger of starry bright…

The Nativity of the grotto graces gleaming gold,
Holy Spirit does bestow as we wonder & behold…

Where joy and peace spread throughout the land,
Rejoice and release upon the taking of His hand.

The Nazarene

Two sandaled feet
Beginning a pace
That will grant salvation
To the whole human race

One foot, placed on hard sand ground
Being followed by disciples milling around
Believers clustered with Jesus, enthralled
Like leaves of a tree that had refused to fall

They, as a group, on the road made their way
Walking and talking with so much to say
Jerusalem beckons yet still far away
Many miles they must make before end of day

The gates opened wide to the city within
Preparations being made to execute Him
He knew of His fate from His Father above
But entered the gates to adorations of love

The people within strew the path where He rode
With fronds from the Palms and also their robes
They cheered and they sang Hosannas to Him
Knowing not that His young life, would suddenly dim

The Romans could find no fault within
And washed their hands of convicting Him
But the Sanhedrin insisted, Jesus must die
Though blasphemy charges were a total lie

Then Pilate asked the gathering throng
Jesus or Barabbas, which did the most wrong?
Give us Barabbas they shouted as one!
Crucify Jesus for the things He has done

He was nailed to a cross
From His head to His feet
His blood draining away
In Jerusalem's heat

Although He's done nothing but teach and love
His destiny had been planned in Heaven above
But, before He died He raised His face
Asking His Father for one saving grace

Forgive them my Father
They know no what they do
Please raise Me from death
To reside next to You!

Mingled with the rural soil of Nazareth, he laboured
He played with the rustics, who were quarrelsome yet loving.
Farmers, carpenters, ironsmiths, weavers, and the shepherd
These were teachers from whom wisdom, like clear streams, flowed, gushing

He pondered along the coast of the Sea of Galilee.
Where the breeze amalgamated with saline sea scent blew
Where fishermen's strife had been a daily reality
In him, the friendliness of the sea folks, day by day, grew.

He found the philosophies and theologies of books
Put into practice by the Rustics in thoughts, words, and deeds
The affluent, on the other hand, seemed cunning and crooks.
Nature held them all in equipollence, mending their creeds.

Each herb, shrub, plant, tree, bloom, fruit, and weed imparted him wisdom.
He drew, by his love, each creature towards Abba's kingdom.

The Nazarene

Deaf for many years,
when The Nazarene healed him...
they heard his soft tears!
