In fleeting amusement, hair of sunlight
and brown cinnamon, powder scent soft skin,
rosy cheeks and freckles on her little nose;
runs round and round, behind curtains
and furniture, knocking down pictures;
chased after by her hound in waves of laughter.

A faithful and constant companion,
