Best Lost Lovemoon Poems

Though Your Heart Is Aching

Wasted skies and cold sunsets before dark,
A faint moon that used to shine on in my heart,
I’ve come to feel alone and find beauty nowhere else,
I’ve come on my own to think about how I fell,

There was a far away time when we were both happy,
And you were so certain and our hearts were so free,
We played all night until the full moon eventually sank,
Then we’d find ourselves back to where all the trouble began,

Finally, you had to go away to be sure about your path,
While the sun was up, where there was none to hold you back,
You’ve decided and I’m here lost to all the formality,
My hopes lay stranded amidst a never ending sea....
Because we once told ourselves that we’d both be braver
Only now it seems like I’m the only one who remembered,

I breathe out a sigh to what we had together...

Now as the shifting sands of time continues blowing...
I‘ve got to find a way to live still a life that is full,
I need learn to smile though my heart is aching...
And rest knowing that my heart’s still beautiful...

Was It Really You

The stars are shining; the moon is big and so bright, that the light passes through the
scary night.
The air is cold the breeze will freeze; It’s a cold night indeed. My feet are numb my legs
are cold, my hands are numb, fingers blue, ready to freeze.
I see my breath before me, as I walk along this path, a river to my left with freezing
water running fast. The river mist is rising, the moon’s still shining, and the mist is
getting stronger as covers the path a yonder.
The mist never gets closer, it moves as quick as me. I walk that little faster, the mist!
it's like it knows... it knows I want to catch it, it moves a little quicker...
I hear a little noise, a little rustle to might right. I stop and look and see a tree,
tall and strong, damp and cold, bare of leaves and shinning bright as the moon’s rays
bounce of the damp shinny skin...
But what was that noise, I hear it once again... mist all around, the sound of the river
running behind.
I hold my breath to clear my view, and what I see is you.
You look at me with eyes so blue... I breathe again and see you smile; I take your hands
to warm them up, as I do you disappear.
Was you really here, not a word we spoke, just a smile you gave... and once again the cold
I feel...
I best be on my way, the mist has covered the stars so bright and the moon is ready to
say good night....

Contemplating the Depths

Tonight, the girl explores
how the grains of sand retreat
from the harsh steps that her feet
take along deserted shores.
Not so long since eager bride
took a husband by her side
until death?
                  the moon said no.

The water hums and roars
while the winds temper the heat
from the burn of his deceit
and his words down empty shores -
how the passion now had died,
nothing more could she provide.
'did he love me?'
                   the moon said no.

Empty now, the dresser drawers
lying open in defeat
letting his soft smell retreat,
lost forever from these shores.
She wondered: 'if I cried
would the waves or would the tide
even notice?'
                    the moon said no.

Murdering Superman

Rescue me, superman
Can it be you, I see
Or is the bird not for me?

You scooped me up
Into the heavens of the sea
Then alone I was in the dim alley

Is the moon forever so washed-out?
Or does this bird’s ex-ray?
Take the moon into daze

The laughs are heeding from near
Perhaps, the joker…
Or is it just the cape, as the choker?

I left you vulnerable
At the crook of your cage
And just you blubber, in such riddle rage

Now superman’s dead
As disastrously, for good
Maybe, my bird, afterall; is Robin Hood

A Mid-Summer's Night

A warm breeze blows through my hair
As I walk down the well worn path
The moon above illuminates the way
Casting it's light around me
The crickets chirp in the tall grass
Playing their night time melody
Up ahead I can hear the water
Lap against the shore of the lake
The lake where I first met her
The place where I fell in love
As I walk along the beach
The cool sand under my feet
Memories of her come rushing at me
The walks on a mid-summer's night
Holding hands, feeling complete
I walk out onto the wooden pier
Where we shared our first kiss
With the moon and stars above
As our only witness
I close my eyes and can almost hear
The sounds of our laughter
Echoing across the water
A tear slips from my eye
Leaving a salty trail along my cheek
For there is no more laughter in my life
Opening my eyes, I look to the sky
Wondering if she can see me
On this mid-summer's night
For she is with me in my heart

Premium Member Fluttering Moth

Sweeping moon dust from her wings
The moth spirals high into the glow of the moon
I close my eyes and see your face
Wondering if in a distant place
It ever flies for the moon to reach me

Whispers of young lovers
And I walk away remembering
The soft blanket of night that hid our first embrace
You meant the world to me
I reach for the moon to keep you within

Against the still of darkness
I feel comfort by its shade
And into the warmth of black
I keep silent my forlorn desire
The glow of my love's fire within me illuminates

And I swat at the fluttering moth

Phases

each crescent moon that has gone by
found you with your true love
each time I looked at the mocking orb
I could see you there together

silence grows like the moons in between
as it fades into each of its phases
each time I think I have put it to rest
the crescent moon shines down again
