Leaf's Dance

Leaf's dance as the night's breeze begins to cool the air.
Stumble towards a sudden warmth, wondering was it you I saw standing there.
Echo's from a distant train jar my attention as it runs down it's lonely tracks.
The loneliness that follows me and has always been there behind my back.
Peering stars also follow me, and are watching my every move.
Aware of chatter from a nearby stream and the smile from a fingernail moon.
The places that I've been, so many things that I've seen.
My thoughts sometime scramble, as my mind let's out it's silent scream.
Where's the voice that calms me down, and begins to ease the pain.
Like the soothing waters that fall from a warm summers rain.
My hands begin searching, reaching for a certain touch.
Looking for the piece of a puzzle I know I've missed so much.
Leaf's dance as the nights breeze begins to cool the air.
Stumble towards sudden warmth, wondering was it you I saw standing there.

Deeper Than Blue

Deeper than blue,I have journeyed
All the while,honesty has held the door...

open

No need for guesswork,or follow the numbers
I have danced,between lines and still I remained...

naked

Yet your hurtful ways have dressed me
In a cloak of tattered silence
Afraid to move,I just might break
Threads of once my very finest

It seems my dance of colours
Has faded and lost it's two step shine
I'll never forget the faltered beat
But I will forgive...in time

Deeper than blue,you have sent me
Still...
honesty holds the door

I'll always dance naked between the lines
One day,you'll hurt me no more

Secrets

that hidden place where secrets go
a tiny room only lovers know
latent time where I have no will
a memory that is hard to kill

we dance the dance and sing a tune
off kilter and a bit off key
in the next life maybe we get it right
for a while it served its need

you scratch a heart into a dead tree
initials there for you and me
and if no one is in the forest
are there sound waves when it bleeds

Fading With the Past

Sifting through the mounds of ash that once was a marriage;
Found are little tokens of the past untouched by the fire
And together they look to see if there is a memory they can build on;
But it’s only a sea shell and it bares no real significance.

He having shed the garb worn while in morning;
Now sifts through the rubble in some soon to be disposable attire
But she; she remains in wifely appearances vocalizing often;
I am your wife; you are my husband and I love you” keep trying”

And the search goes on as requested; but there seems little hope;
And it bares a familiarity much like ashes from a crematorium
And regrets are overwhelmed only by futility and the disregard for common sense;
And he wishes he could dig a hole; and bury the whole mess; with her in it.

No one really knows though; so he keeps searching and waiting;
Waiting for that make it or break it time; where the choice is live or die.
Then it will be all over; and no one can accuse him of giving up.
And she doesn’t even realize all that digging caused her infections slow to heal.

He only hopes it doesn’t take so long he’ll miss his chance to dance again;
He has his beacon on and hopefully it will attract someone that’s searching;
Someone to sit with him at the sea of love; breathing the fresh air of new life;
And at night they’ll hold each other close and dance by the light of the moon

Once the Dance Is Done

I am not sorry baby
don't you ever think that
there isn't anything I would change
nothing I would take back
when my dreams come
they are still of sand and sea
the footsteps we left
on a smooth, moonlit beach

don’t you worry 'bout me baby
I'll get by somehow
but the music isn't the same
once the dance is done

the clouds move by
the breeze blows the same
the sun still shines
the moon rises high
I still think of you
and tiles from a game
sometimes wondering if
you ever think of me

don’t you worry 'bout me baby
I'll get by somehow
but the music isn't the same
once the dance is done
