Best Lose It Poems
find. keep. love.
some like to chase.
capture.
then chase away.
some enjoy the chase.
some chasers become the chasee.
Find love. Lose it.
chastity kept none safe— really.
for the target matters not— flesh or no.
But the mind and all
it’s manifestations of love
permeates, even the thickly girded heart.
when the chasers intent is to
find and keep love.
GOD HAS GIVEN US GIFTS TO USE
DON'T HOLD BACK AND REFUSE
SOMETIMES ITS NOT EASY TO COME FORTH TO USE IT
HOWEVER, IF YOU DON'T, YOU WILL LOSE IT.
HAVE THE FAITH TO KNOW GOD WANTS TO USE YOU
HE WILL OPEN THE DOORS NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO
EVEN WHEN IT SEEMS SO HARD FOR ME AND YOU TOO
CAUSE IF YOU DON'T USE IT YOU WILL LOSE IT.
OUR TALENTS COME FROM GOD WHETHER BIG OR SMALL
HE LOVES US, PROTECTS US, COMFORT US ALL
CONFESS IT, BELIEVE IT, DON'T DOUBT IT, RECEIVE IT,
CAUSE IF YOU DON'T USE IT YOU WILL LOSE IT.
The dirty laundry
of democracy
Near impossible
to clean
You bask in freedom
until it’s gone
Whose nightmare kills
the dream
Warts and pimples
in plain view
Perfection
for the sage
To govern
as the Lord decrees
Our liberty
uncaged
To make those choices
for yourself
And pay the price
be damned
Instead of letting
tyrants rule
To serve
— at their command

When you exercise
Don’t be surprised! Sweat is
Just your fat crying
Move it or lose it
Was his favourite
And he used it often
You see it fitted his lifestyle
When you meet a crowd
Negotiating your way through
It was a utilitarian saying
And it served him well.

Time to pour out my heart once again
To you, my darling sweet lady
I'm over the moon as I sing love's tune
I think of our sweet love daily
Maybe it's age, but love's Number One
Visit there every single day
Images of hugging and kissing my sweetie
Thoughts just blow me away
Figured I'd be over the craving by now
I'll never lose it, I'm afraid
So if you thought that was gonna happen
It's a feeling I'd never trade
Testosterone is taking over once again
But I can take it or leave it any time
Now really that's not exactly the truth
Ever seen a grown man cry?
Figured I'd be over the craving by now
I'm never ever gonna lose it!

Walking very rigid with a slight unsteady gait
As I walk I'll often veer from side to side
Although by this I could appear to some as being drunk
I feel totally disorientated and utterly defunct
My left arm is just hanging there, not moving from my side
For it's no longer swinging as it should
My mind it has stopped working
Feels solidified with fear
Oh please don’t say that word
The word I do not want to hear
Falls just lately, I’ve had many
Though I’m unsure why I’ve had any
Breaking bones and grazing knees
What on earth is happening to me
I sit alone in the waiting room
My left arm is starting to tremor
With my anxiety rising
Well it isn’t surprising
Waiting for my diagnosis
On this frightening dilemma
I am called to the room
Where a Neurologist is sitting
And she asks me to walk to the window
Without further ado she looks into my eyes
Saying, ‘Parkinson’s Disease I can see it in your walk'
I was numb and in shock and I could not even talk
It was not what I wanted to hear
But had been on my mind for a year
Then I heard a voice saying over and over
Are you sure
Are you sure
Are you sure
I’m a widow on my own
There is no one else at home
Only me
Only me
Only me
The first few days in total shock
And all I did was cry a lot
But gradually accepting it, I really had no choice
Then deep inside my soul I heard a soft and gentle voice
It said…
‘It’s neither Cancer nor Alzheimer’s, but Parkinson’s disease
Yes I know it is degenerative, don’t mean to sound insensitive
But Parkinson’s you have, so keeping active is imperative
For the many hills and mountains that you will need to climb
As your symptoms start to worsen, as you go into decline’
So on waking up each morning
As a bright new day is dawning
My mantra ‘I must use it or I’ll lose it”
For although I do not want it
I accept that I have got it
So Parkinson’s my friend
I will fight you to the end
Time to pour out my heart once again
To you, my darling sweet lady
I'm over the moon as I sing love's tune
I think of our sweet love daily
Maybe it's age, but love's Number One
Visit there every single day
Images of hugging and kissing my sweetie
Thoughts just blow me away
Figured I'd be over the craving by now
I'll never lose it, I'm afraid
So if you thought that was gonna happen
It's a feeling I'd never trade
Testosterone seems to be taking over again
But I can take it or leave it any time
Now really that's not exactly the truth
Ever seen a grown man cry?
Figured I'd be over the craving by now
I'm never ever gonna lose it!

Make no mistakes?
Endure no strife?…Then my friend…
You will not live life!
If ghosts are real, what have we done?
The skeleton inside of me, taste like blood
The shadows are speaking to me, like stones in my pockets
Told you about my birthday, but you forgot about it
In a city of angels, I smell the bonfire smoke
Creatures in the woods, wear a dark green cloak
Sliced like crops in a field, with a scythe
More sour than, my lemon juice lies
This distorted love, is a lie in the dark
My midnight conversations, are like Medusas touch
Every piece of my soul, is against my better judgment
If I give you my heart, please don’t lose it
