Best Lifeeaster Poems

Forever Atlanta

Feel the sun, and enjoy the breeze of spring,
Opening your door to let winter out.
React to the pollen, watching it cling
Everywhere, because of the long drought.
Visit the Easter Bunny at the mall.
Easter eggs are finally in season!
Reach for a stick, then go grab a round ball,
And head towards a field for no reason.
Turner Field is open! So is Six Flags!
Little Five Points is drawing a big crowd!
As Piedmont Park invites all tails to wag,
North, South, East, and West Atlanta get loud.
This is the season. This is the city.
And, ignoring them would be a pity.

What Easter Means To Me

kids with clothes as bright as sun
eggs and chocolate lots of fun
but Easter means much more to me
then all of this frivolity

we condemned cursed sentenced Him
we scourged spit hung Him to a limb
our sins hung nailed Him to a tree
now there is life for you and me

He gave pure love from heaven above
laid down His life this beautiful dove
because He chose the tree you see
you and i can now be free

He did not cry He did not groan
He knew three days He rolls the stone
He did it one time for eternity
conquered death for love for all you see

we no longer hunger no longer thirst
because His love removed the curse
He does not follow He takes the lead
Rejoice, Rejoice, HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Cycle of My Life

The Cycle of my Life
January fifth was the month I lost my wife
February brings Valentines Day
A gift with love I did say.
April seventh is our Anniversary
The month and day she married me.
April brings Easter Sunday
  May brings Mother’s Day.
October thirty first is Halloween
When kids would dress in costumes to be seen.
November brings Thanksgiving and is the fourth Thursday
December eighteen is my wife’s birthday.
December twenty fifth is Christmas Day
It was my wife’s favorite holiday.
January first is New Years
Just another day of maybe no tears.
It starts all over again my cycle of life
Over and over again the pain without my wife.

Seasons

The Easter Bunny has come and gone,
Hippity Hoppity Hoorah
Next it will be Happy Thirty-ninth Birthday to me
Oh what a joyous day that will be
Soon it will be the fourth
Now that is a wonderous night
when the sky lights up with red, blue and white
Then off to Trick or treating we go,
Wearing all those darn pantyhose.
Turkey day will soon appear
Now that is my time of year
Santa isn't far behind,
With blitzen as the last in line

Hope all of your holidays stay safe and warm
So the circle of life continues on

Easter

Extra special part of
April and
Sometimes March
The Easter bunny comes along to give candy, colorful
Eggs , cookies, and other
Rich treats.

Yesterday

While dreaming of tomorrow
We were living for that day
How quickly all these memories,
Through time, will fade away

"Worry" was just another word
We heard our parents use
We had no big decisions,
No choices, we had to choose

We still believed in Santa Claus
And even the Easter bunny
Back when tv was still free
And cartoons were still funny

Our kingdom was our treehouse
We'd pretend we were a king
With a good imagination
We could be most anything

We'd always count our blessings
Like Mama told us to
Giving thanks to God each day
For the things He brought us through

Growing up was easy
Tho, we often thought it hard
The safest place we've ever known
Was in our own backyard

Ain't it funny how things change
When tomorrow becomes today?
I hope our kids can know these joys
Their very own yesterdays
