I ponder; and I see
Memories tinted with time
And
Dreams, a kaleidoscope of hope.
Yes, I look into my past
And
See my future beckoning me.
I ponder; and I remember
Dreams, nurtured with time
And
The memories they now offer.
Yes, I look into my past
And
See my future beckoning me.
I dream; and I wonder
Of all that can be
And
Of all that has already been.
Oh, I gaze into my future
And
Hear my past harking back at me.
I dream; and I think
Of what I can achieve
And
Of goals already attained.
Oh, I gaze into my future
And
Hear my past harking back at me.
I dream, I wonder, I ponder, I think
And
I see
Memories tinted with time
Dreams, a kaleidoscope of hope.
a future alone
or a future together
only time will tell
I look out the window as I take to the sky
I just spread my wings because I think I can fly
The darkness surrounding doesn't matter anymore
What the future has in store I'm really not sure.
Up above the clouds is where I think I'm free
Where once I was blind finally I can see
I look out the window but I can't see the ground
I drift through space without making a sound.
The stars are up above me but I can't look up
I start to feel thirst so I drink from the cup
Looking around things are not like before
Things that once mattered simply don't anymore.
I start to lose altitude as I plunge toward the end
I'm never quite certain of the message I send
Sometimes I feel like I'm just a shooting star
I burn up in the atmosphere before I get too far.
All of a sudden I find myself back on the ground
I don't feel so lost with the new friends I've found
I look to the future because it isn't here yet
I just can't believe my whole life rode in a bet.
I walk past the wreckage and it feels like the end
The final result wasn't the message that I send
The candle does flicker representing my hope
Maybe I can wash it away with just a little soap.
The light grows weaker as I begin to have faith
I just need some gravity before drift out in space
I feel as though it all just slips through my hands
Why this happens to me I just don't understand.
Long ago I walked down an aisle
Long ago I held a child
Long ago I lived in dreams
Long ago it all now seems
Long ago I had it all
Long ago threw no curve balls
Long ago I walked a path
Long ago I didn’t look back
Long ago when I was young
Long ago I climbed the rungs
Long ago a safety net
Long ago no future threats
Long ago went by to fast
Long ago I can’t get back
Long ago my future clear
Long ago has disappeared

Ever seen a baby bird fall?
Watching something you know you have no choice in being a part of;
like your unknown future child kissing someone elses unknown future child,
that you wish to stop, but you know you can't be a part of.
...ever think that the world would stop spinning,
if you'd just stand still the whole day,
even though truthfully you know better,
you just want to feel if patience is in you;
in me, while your above falling asleep, but wanting to stay awake, in me.

Do you ever get scared?
Not by a random situation or a outcome,
but by a random thought that you forgot was still there;
residing in your past while you try to walk your present,
and it lingers there making you weary of your future.
Like kicking that stone on the sidewalk
that rolled to the body that was laying on the road,
not dead...ye...but you know they don't want to be alive,
and that creeps begin to crawl on you
as you stare at something not so faraway,
maybe if you'd turned him over, you would see your face.

What makes time?
Is it the man with the hands on his; that never seems to stop caressing.
I would kill him if it where possible, possible to kill a man,
possible to be possible in anyway to s l o w d o w n

The writing on the wall said its time for you to go
I try to act surprised as if I didn’t know
When you recede inside like the oceans tides
You better hang on for it may be a rough ride.
I don’t understand even though I do know
When you stop trying you simply cease to grow
Then you become apprehensive about what the future may show
It’s much like the grass gets deep when you forget to mow.
I try to start anew but I’m haunted by the past
I see a light at the end but how long will it last
It’s like the future been set in the mold that you cast
The sorrow comes as the flag flies at half mast.
I see today how what you do affects everyone around
But it’s hard to get your bearings when you feet aren’t on the ground
The silence creeps up without making a sound
What you say determines the path you are bound.
