Premium Member Awakening - the Inn of My Heart Part I

The inn of my Heart
has many rooms;
I thought I knew them all.
They were peopled with
husband, children,
  family and friends.
    Even God had a room,
and I visited them all frequently.
I really didn't think
there were any more rooms;
Until one day,
while walking through my Inn,
I discovered a suite of rooms
unoccupied.
"Who is this for?"
I loudly asked,
"And why have not these rooms
been used?"

No one could tell me who,
and no one could tell me why.
So I stumbled around the rooms
exclaiming over the things
that I found there.
But as surely as day must dawn
the realization slowly came,
and with such a sense of discovery,
I stood there in awe
wondering what I would do.
For I had entered the rooms
filled with the essence of me.
There were all the hopes,
  and dreams,
    and feelings,
of one human soul.
And when I looked with understanding,
I saw that even the ugly things
had not been forgotten here.

It was a fearful thing
  to be confronted with myself,
to see so clearly all the things
      I had long ignored.
You see, the things we ignore,
hoping they'll go away,
simply move into our rooms
and wait for rediscovery.

Your turn will come,
  if it hasn't already,
to enter your suite of rooms
      and be confronted
with all the essence of you.
What will you do?
And, what am I going to do now?
Escape and close the door?
  Lock it?
Build a wall in front of it?
Try to forget the things I found
        in my suite of rooms?
          Put my blinders back on?
Or will I have the courage
to move into my rooms;
to become familiar with those intangibles
that exist in all of us;
To learn to live with
  the ugly things,
    and not be defeated by them;
To sort out the useable
  from all the rest,
    and use it with enthusiasm;
To know that what I found here
won't always suit those around me,
But acknowledge it anyway.
I stand now in the doorway,
   looking out, looking in,
       wondering . . .

The Inn

Sshh…
I can see it
Creeping behind the wounded paper
Fabricated in the surface of the wall
The wall. Yes the wall.
Countless stains embedded
Thousand images magnified during midnights
Raindrop stains transformed into wars
Inkblots turned into murder scenes
A dot of blood resurrected into a horrible monster
And the monster lives in the wall.
Now it’s peeking
Its mocking eyes met mine
Staring at me as if I have murdered millions
I suddenly felt numb
Yet I desired to crush it till it turns to a single dust.
I stepped closer
My body trembled
It didn’t move neither did it show an act of resistance
But instead, its red eyes glowed
And opened wider and bigger.
I closed my eyes hoping it would vanish.
I reached for a hanging portion of the torn wallpaper,
I tore it forcefully—
Mirror!

Premium Member When Santa Visited the Elf Inn

When Santa visited The Elf Inn.
He was taken quite aback.
The landlord said 'Leave now you're barred
And don't ever come back.'

Santa said 'What is the reason for the ban?'
Came the reply 'Last time you were here
You drank my sherry and ate the mince pies
Then you had the cheek to criticise my beer'

Santa said 'To be fair in my defense
I only did what a ticker should do
And I was really generous
Giving that rank ale a two.

But the landlord became annoyed
And threw Santa out on the street
Where he fell upon his bum
In the wintery rain and sleet.

So Santa went to the Snowman Arms
Where his welcome was cheery and warm
He even received a kiss on the lips
From regular All In Sean.

Angels Inn

A restaurant on a beautiful island for kids
Remy from ratatouille is the chef of my restaurant
An expert in making boundless perfect blends
Cute kids can urge him anything they want

Seven dwarfs from snow white are the servers
Spider man and bat man will join them in occasions
They organise games to entertain the customers
I also hired some of the Disney princesses

Cindrella,Rapunzel,Snow white,Jasmine,
 Aurora,Belle,Milan,Ariel and her sisters
Sing, dance and eat with the children.
Kids can also swing in Rapunzel's hair

Menu contains the healthy food of all nations
Since it is only for kids,I named it as Angels Inn
The best part is,I don't charge any fees
But I certainly need hugs and kisses

Premium Member Pretty Seaside Inn

Sparkles dance on water as the sunset leaves it's glow
The rhythmic sounds are soothing as the waves all ebb and flow
Lulled by ocean magic, in sleep she sails away
Till early morning seagulls call to greet another day
She sips upon her coffee at this pretty seaside Inn
Then dons her hat and heads on out to meet him for a swim

No Room At the Inn

Is there room in your heart for Jesus?
Is He welcome in your home today?
He, who is the Lord of Glory, and king of kings,
Wants to dwell with you today and always.

Premium Member Family Reunion At Oinkington Inn

Let’s stay at Oinkington Inn the easily pleased relative said.
Her husband looked at brochure and said I’d rather be dead.
The pigs are lovely, she replied. There is nothing to dread.
He told her to go to her family reunion with her cousin Ned.

The sows and hogs were truly placated and fine.
We visited them near an old abandoned crystal mine.
You should come next time to the reunion, she said.
Best part is, a sow ran off with my mean cousin Ned.

Dew Drop Inn

There was a place called Dew Drop Inn
In that place, you could find many a friend
As long as you drank beer, wine, whiskey or gin
There was always some-one surrounding you
Happily obliging to join in with you
Dancing and singing often off key
Didn’t matter to the barkeep
He was always as pleased as can be
Especially when customers spent more than fifty
When time to close before he would turn the key
He would state "Thank you for coming friends
To the Dew Drop Inn, Please Do Drop in Again"

Premium Member Days Inn

I read that they sold,
the Days Inn now.
Each day that I pass by
I am reminded
it was the last place
that my father stayed
before he died.

I remember sitting by the pool
and releasing the differences
of over fifty years.

All parties to the new project
seemed to be ecstatic!
It would bring new life
to that part of town.
Extensive renovation,
even a Bocce Ball court is planed.

Each day that I pass by
I see the changes
and the landmarks gone
and the impermanance
of memory.

Premium Member The Old Victorian Inn

Every day on my shore walk, I walk by a beautiful old dilapidated Victorian Inn
It’s been vacant for many years since a rumored double murder happened within
Today, oddly, I notice a light on inside as I cautiously walk to the front door
I enter the inn and see the ghost of an old Sea Captain, as I pass out on the floor
I come to, feeling foolish, as a fluffy tom cat starts purring and licking my face
Until I hear the old Sea Captain tell me my room is ready to stay at his place

Premium Member The Inn

Driving down a lonely road out in the west
Twilight was approaching and I needed rest
In the distance I saw the lights of the town
I would stay there till dawn came around
When I finally reached, a woman came out to greet
me, her hair was black, her voice was sweet

Then she showed me to my room
 In this rustic inn
"No smoking" she said, "I cant stand the fumes"
Then she gave me a bottle of gin

But when I took the first sip
 My head began to spin
I fell to the floor and busted my lip
It seemed my nightmare was about to begin

When I finally came to, I was still on the floor
I got up quickly and headed for the door
As I was trying to find the exit the lady said to me
Once you've checked in, never again will you be free

Today's Inn

Every night, a train passes by my house
To pick up that day's memories

Tonight, I watched the train approach
With its pure white smoke

A stop, a door opens, light emerges from within
I enter to place my treasures, wishing I can run back to today's inn
