NATIONAL IRONY
All hail the giant of Africa,
Giant of bribery and corruption
Giant of poverty and wailing
Giant in the face of frustration
and hunger.
What Giant is in the soul of Tyrant?
'We are here to serve the masses'
But they serve their personal interest
and enrich thief selfish pocket.
Your money is soaked with the
bitter tears of the poor!
'A descent life for all '
But they impoverish our helpless heart,
Look unto our street and see thousands of descent citizen.
'Health care service for all'
But they refuse to honour the
pulse of medical practitioner,
They cause falseful close down
of our health centers.
Their promise should have been fulfilled
If only we have vaccines in our
hospitals not even an atom of antibiotics.
'Police is your friend, Bail is free'
Why are innocents going through
the pain of the crime they commit not?
But your falseful fine could feed
a whole nation three times.
'Kick against indiscipline K.A.I'
But they kick against public fund,
Kicked against human right,
Kicked against our democracy,
Kicked against National growth.
'Security For all'
But they loot our defence money
They cause 'Boko' to waste life's
Your actions caused our abducted
Skirt homeless and hopeless.
'Equality before the law'
Why are you depriving good
standard of living from us?
You steal trillions of money
to impoverish your brothers
and sisters of the soil.
'Reduce the rate of poverty'
But your policies leads to inflation
We Now wear rag for cloth
While your clothing allowance
can shelter thousand heads.
'Reduce crime rate'
But look into our schools,
cultism is highly ubiquitous
Graduate turn robbers,
Kidnaping here and there
All happened due to your
actions and inaction.
I don't know where the future
of this country is moving to,
Everything is now getting worst
'Things are now falling apart'
Whose fault is it that such
has befallen us?

‘Out’-discipline!
“Teacher, beaten by student.” “Student stabs another in squabble.”
“Teachers found without Lesson Plan.” “Noise level unbearable.”
Unfortunately, these would only be a few of the sordid headlines;
To duly ‘captivate’ readers, if every school had its own newsletter.
The very fabric of our beloved society has become deteriorated;
Because our homes and schools have failed to function effectively.
The consequences of this failure are dramatic and far-reaching.
Therefore, immediate redress for this chaos, we should be seeking,
Teachers frequently liming; the nation’s youths, we not educating.
Usually unprepared: for work, at work; and, not completing work.
The students are not: studying, doing home-work, nor assignments.
All busy; yet, finding time for gambling, hustling, surfing ****, etc...
The school surroundings depicting ‘pollution party;’ absolutely nasty.
Manners no longer, “maketh man...” nor woman, much-less children.
This is every school’s catastrophe; total, complete, present-day anomie.
Bending/breaking rules, norms, morals or ethics - ‘perfect’ indiscipline.
Indiscipline! Everyone fed-up: teachers, students; even the parents.
Who is now responsible? Corrective measures must make statements.
‘Heads must roll’ for incompetence; ‘butts should burn’ for laziness.
Neither students nor teachers must be ‘late for school,’ or ‘bussing a lime’.
Punishment must definitely be meted out for disrespect to teachers.
Actions must be taken for insubordination, and also for instigation.
Indiscipline must be addressed immediately and harshly, to redress...
We fed-up! We taking absolutely drastic measures to ‘iron-out’ this mess.

Narrative
Thorns of liberty,
Street of massive enmity.
Pinnacle of unseen threat,
Nausal,chronic and offensive pets.
Path to menace
Solace!
Cat feed on cat; happy hour.
Wealth varies to poverty tower.
Deflowered road,heightened corruption,depression,
Economic degradation,death,sheol,recession.
Inhuman,omission,partisan jingoism,
Imperialism,racism,colonialism and all 'ism',
Insanity,antisemitism,lethargy,
Symphonic,alienation,kinky absurdity,
Neo colonialism,post colonialism,Africanism,
Beggy beggy-lism,olosho-lism,maxism,
Indiscipline,indecision,invasion in our axis;
Gives us solace!; Oh our solace!

Political Verse
Kick against indiscipline; they say,
But they kick against our income;
Kick against the youth's progress,
Kick against the future of our futures,
Kick against the heart that tend good
Rather than kicking against indiscipline.
We still have prostitutes in our streets,
We still have drunkards languishing
Right in the gutters of our streets;
We still have gamblers right beside my nose,
We still have armed robbers parading
And hurting people with their guns and nobody
Is kicking against them in their operations.
What are they kicking against here?
What are they made to kick against there?
We still have boys that have their trousers
Put on their waists, and their pants showing.
We still have fraudsters in their cyber world,
We still have 'YAHOO' boys and girls;
A foregone culture that needs a re-visit.
The gods of our land still weep for a
Change of identities by their children.
Once a glorious country has turned into a dump
Of great nuisance from the animal kingdom.
They Kick against indiscipline but they don't
kick against their pockets that are full of
money which where exploited from us.
They arrest every youth on the street selling,
And jobs are never seen for them to do.
We still have kidnappers right on our doors,
We still have corrupt leaders barking behind,
We still have ritualists with their ego so high;
Are we not in the end time?
Who is deceiving who here in the country?
Men still beat their wives, and, children
Still insult their parents without looking back.
Our education is dead of cultism and cheating,
Sex trade and child abuse are still rampard here,
What are you kicking against, yourself?
Marital problems still blind many of us,
Churches still burn their members and
Some are deceived to perish in hell.
What are you kicking against, friend?

Blank verse
I doubt ,God is there,
Inspecting every atmosphere's layer;
Wrong people have something to dare,
Getting the right one is rare,
Corrupt acquiring the king's chair,
Good ones are paying wrong deed's fare;
Sons are forgetting parental care,
It's difficult to search lifelong pair;
Indiscipline , riots are like silent killer,
Sitting what are you doing fortune writer;
Selfishness is the main cause,
Cutting the money from person's jaws;
In GITA you told you will be there in good people's side,
When the wrong things are in roller coaster's ride;
We all need some of your beatings in dose,
Punish us to stand in toes;
Your existence now need a proof,
Don't just watch from sky's roof;
Communalism is at its best,
Your action are required to pass the test;
Give us the light for the right path,
Showering in Ganges won't perish devil's bath;
You are the Supreme Commander of all,
Stop all this nonsense and daily wars;
We need you now, we need you a lot,
See how we have been caught here.

Dear Student
I have made it a task
to motion my thoughts
and my fingers to type.
Striking at every letter
that could carve words in your mind
As I hope you can have a sombre reflection.
I have rummaged through
the bookshelf of human profanity;
injustice, inhumane, complexity,
indiscipline, insincerity, callousness
and absence of academic wits
are book titles that adorn its walls.
I learnt of the pills of unhappiness
you force through others throats
I am aware of how you have
made it a must to grow
cornfield of downtrodden students
while you bask in the euphoria of supremacy.
I feel sad
when your name
pops-up in the school's search engine
as a notorious class bully
I feel sad
when you pass-by
and the weak in your class
in their timid voices
call you "Mr Oppressor"
For how long will you continue
to swim in the sea of infamy?
Your classmates cry silently
they wish they never met you.
Those who yearned to have a voice
you annoyingly silenced them,
calling them names in class
while you make a mockery of them.
When will you learn to grow
and respect the other man?
It is never too late
to make an amend
to right yesterday's wrong.
It is never too late
for you to give that pat on the back
and help your mates to get out of their shells
It is never too late
to grease your mind with soothing words
It is never too late
to regain your good name
from this untold shame.
From your concerned teacher
the one you called "Mr Preacher."

Nigeria we hail thee !!!
Nasty things everywhere
Indiscipline here and there
Giants looting nation to bleed
Everyday corruption thrives
Recycling of old looting gang
Ineptitude from head to toe
All angels fall none to praise.
What manner of leadership is this?
Even in God’s houses money flies.
How long shall we bind our mouths?
And see our wealth going down the drain
If only we could bark and bite a bit
Looting will cease and nation will grow.
Today we should all begin to talk
Heaven helps those who help themselves
Except something is urgently done
Every saint will perish only rogues will live

KITTEN HATER
To help address the mouse problem
With which the world is smitten
(God knows, we have enough of them)
My cat has just produced another kitten.
The indiscipline of kittens is not welcome -
They won’t soon catch a mouse,
The curtain climbing, table walking, and then some -
They just don’t care about the rules of the house.
And it’s like catching a pin cushion.
When they jump on me from the stairs in the hall.
It’s then I sometimes get a notion :
I wonder if mice are really so bad after all?

OH!
You punched holes in my system
Now, I am incontinent
I can't hold water for a second
You blame it on indiscipline
You licked my mind
Now , I am permeable
I can't sieve immigrant thoughts
You blame it on gullibility
You dragged my true self
Now, I am a masquerader
I can't meet the world without the mask
You blame it on cowardice
You attack every step of mine
Now, I am calculative
I can't choose expediently
You blame it on Indecision
Oh Society !!!

Free verse
Anarchy is witnessed,
Strategy is called for,
Youthfulness is called upon,
Execution is on the roll.
Motivated by materialism,
The conscience is sold out
Indiscipline rules willfully, and
Fear is the air to breathe.
Scenes of violence all over
Generated by the “gods”
Yes, the "gods"and barbarians of the “science of power”
Leaving nothing but an eyesore
Venoms of influence are pryingly invited and spat out
Igniting a scene of social unrest, and
They sit in the comfort of their abode. Whilst,
Observation becomes the ally of their misdeed.
Horror is witnessed
Sorrow is the bitter taste.
Terrorism yet to be invited and
Saboteurs, oh yes, Political Saboteurs pry in their abode
Rationality conflated with conviction is consulted
Options are laid nakedly on the table
Complex is the choice to be made
Yet, a decision must be made.
Let them be combatant of their own combat.

Personification
Funny how we speak with two tongues
How we sing two tunes to the same song
We claim that all things God made are good
Yet, we condemn when they're not understood
Marijuana, the herb is not of itself, bad
It is man’s greed and indiscipline that is sad
I bet, the corporate drug lords will now lobby the hill
In the rush to enlarge their bank accounts, still
Soon the old, sick and depressed in some states
Will have to pay triple! Yes, that is their fate
There has to be more research, new laws on the books
To cut off the street gangs, pushers and such folks
Make a difference in the crime rate, clean up the streets
If buying cigarette with carcinogens is legal
Makes no sense, for all the fuss, let’s be real
Left as is, soon more twelve year olds will sell!
Did you say, ‘Not in my hood?! Wait! What's that smell?!

BE BRAVE
Arrogance, squabble in perplexing plight
Public in anger, aggression only to fight.
Incorrigible incredible chaotic crisis.
Notorious nefarious nastiness needs Nemesis.
Outrageous turmoil ignites blunder.
Come on soldier not to surrender.
Noisy nuisance indiscipline to recur
Malice mischief mended in massacre.
Pandemonium prevailing amidst of devils
Prime time to eradicate crimes and evils.
Oh Warrior! Slash smash tormentors: Be bold.
Be merciless, ruthless to unsheathe your sword.

Like an ant inside
honey,hungry!
How can this be?
For this I frown.
Where there is
abundant wheat
many people go to bed
without bread,
~this I frown.
the soil is fertile and
rich,
yet,food and farm
products are elusive,
~this I frown.
I frown at gluttons
enriching their bellies
with resources meant
for all,
usurping power from
the weak,
This is a familiar
quagmire.
Babies crying for
mothers`s milk
mother`s milk is dry for
mummy is on
compulsory fasting,
~this I frown.
Vibrant youths become
useless,
No cold water to quench
their thirst,
No admission;No
Job;this I detest.
The Rock oozes out
dark golden liquid,
which is sought by
many nations,
but the rock owners
are famished,
For this! I frown.
Honours were bestowed
on 'Dubious' and Honest
leaders,
for mismanagement and
indiscipline,
~this I frown.
I have headache and
high fever,
As my heart tinged and
tinged deeply with
sorrow,
As many swim in
poverty in the midst of
plenty,
~this I frown.

Free verse
Night comes,
Day looms and goes,
I become older
And older
And a little bit older
With the
Hope
Of maybe, maybe
Less pace of my aging –
Of loosing the dreams,
Romance, indiscipline and so on –
Thinking,
Like a lost sailor,
Putting the hat down
After so many years in the sea,
Where –
Where I am
Going;
No destination, mere –
Destiny?
Asking himself,
Why?
Dark clouds and the
Same moon,
And those stars –
Where are we all going?
Together or
Discrete?
Vow of silence
Comes
With Shear
Consciousness-
But tickling of eyes
Fade away.
Morning comes
To go by soon.
Forgetting his uncertainty
Sailor hopes again –
Maybe,
Maybe there’s something,
Eternal;
Separate
or together with him
with less pace till
the last step
towards the destination
or destiny.
Bestow innocence,
And sincerity-
unto me.
Explode my heart,
once more and again.
Saturate me;
With ache-
and farce.
Give charm,
on everyone
And also glee;
Reward innocence-
and sincerity
unto me.
