Best Imaginationautumn Poems
Dreams like light-waves,
in my memory.
Birds of loneliness,
night-songs,
flowering days,
gone.
Tides,
waves of silence
forced
into daydreams.
The horizon,
verges – dissolving
like far desires.
In the hours of silence,
falls remembrance
like autumn leaves
in an uncertain future.
Dreams remain
like light-waves
in my thoughts.
Behind the rows of aspen trees
The zebras turn to autumn leaves
Beware of tiger symmetry
Almost autumn in the air
Do not wait for me
Almost time to paint the leaves
Do not wait for me
Almost reason to etch this sky
Breathless heart, we meet, again
Almost night this dark wine sea
Do not wait for me
Cold moon
Cherry-black autumn leaves
Fill this abandon grave
Long after
Red autumn ashes,
A Flock of
Origami birds, return
AT 60
For 60 summers, I am
With memories wrinkled
As age has conceived
What time had committed.
And mark the day with a chiffon cake
One sturdy candle at the center
A wish to whisper only once
But no one bothered what was said.
I think now of those decaying decades
Old and dearly friends I hardly meet
Share a bit of the sugarless pieces
Bland to the hardest crisp.
How many faces become vague?
Lowly sounds shrill my ears with daze
How long ago has there been a gift?
And one lonely lamp beside my crib?
Such thoughts remain qualms
Agonizing my spirit
When autumn begins, I shall be
A tiny leaf among the heap
To be raked, ashed and dust off
Hibernate underneath the cold earth
To sprout again, perhaps never
On any spring, thereafter.
Faust and Fay went out to play all alone on autumn day,
in the barn the two would stray and muffle around in golden hay.
Then appeared the Devil himself seeking souls for an empty shelf,
Who ye be faust then said, are ye the Devil all covered in red?
No, not I, he did reply, I like to frequent from the sky!
Leave us be! Fay lashed out, we need no other frequent about!
But I've come to make a magical sale, do you care to hear my tale?
A magical sale you'd like to sell? take a seat and do me tell.
The Devil then sat with a lazy loll, The price you pay shall be your soul.
My soul you say shall be my pay? Then show this magic you sell today!
No! Said Fay, he lies this way, he's only here to do us harm don't
listen to him or his charm! He is the Devil, who is a heel, and all he seeks
is a soul to steal!
Begone ye Devil, Faust then said, remove yourself or we'll remove your head!
Colorful rainbows
Pouring from
This deep rosemary sky
Through grateful hands
This autumn forest
Knowing how bright
To shine her maple leaves
Always sharing nature’s glory
Maple tears
Roll down
Their cheeks of
Red autumn leaves
The wind castles catch up to us
Then swirls you around
In a carousel of
Burgundy red Autumn leaves
The sweet color of
The autumn leaves
That is an
Expression of
Joy beneath
The flesh and
Bone of trees
Burnt toast horizons singe the autumn sky.
Cinnamon swirls smoke the golden hour,
awaiting the drizzled frosting of ashen night.
Pluck the taunt string of barren branch.
Whip the laggard moonlight white.
Bring forth the banshee’s breath.
Scorch the sockets of pumpkin
impaled in fallow fields.
“Gather, Oh come! Ye ghosts
beneath the apple tree."
Late Autumn sky
Brings blue-gray rain clouds
Inside the medicine man’s teepee
sweet mother dear
my spirit is
this ship wreck
without an anchor
without a compass
i cried for weeks
here on my knees
what have i
done with my life
this fallen autumn leaf
I brought you
so much grief
now every minute
in my life
is filled with
change
mother you
give me life
The beautiful years
When spring takes her place,
With the young and
Summer rolls in this red barn,
With a hoot owl, and autumn brings
Her basket full of golden-orange leaves and
Winter makes her smooth ice cream-white snow
