Premium Member Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti

“Throw Kindness around like confetti” (motto attributed to Kate Spade)

Throw kindness around like confetti.
Find chances wherever you go.
There's no act of kindness that’s petty
when light of your love you let show.

Confetti at parties and weddings
is celebratory and fun.
Let’s celebrate life in all settings -
from morning until the day’s done.

While driving to work on the freeway -
let cars in your lane! At the store,
be patient as well. Make somebody’s day.
Be cheerful and smile; hold open a door!

It isn’t so hard to simply be nice,
so wherever you happen to be,
try it once, try it twice, then try it thrice.
Happier faces you’ll start to see.

So take my advice and throw kindness around,
for the more acts of kindness you show,
the more will the ripples of sweet love be found
affecting the world with confetti-like glow.

Challe

Virgen de Guadalupe
scrape her roses from the floor
The lighted path shimmers
in the mountains
as we walk like goats
surefooted and into high
places
Lofty dreams encompass
the transitions
and splendor shakes a tail feather
peacocked into cries for
water, light and love
Challe in the toilet stall
Hands clenched, mouth moving
She could not shout
Shall the world let her fall?
Offer her soothing
Help through this bout?
Shall we notice at all?
Her sad self loathing
Draped in self doubt
Challe head against the wall
Her mind is roving
Confused, distraught
Challe
Orphaned child
Witnessed mother’s murder
Never able to cry
Numb
La Pieta
hold open her new door
The best is yet to come
We whisper as we
stick our fingers down
her throat
Virgen de Guadalupe
scrape her roses from the floor
holding her slashed wrists
until the ambulance arrives
and extracts
her overdosed pills and
her nightmares
into visions
of the ever present gift
that even murderers
could not take away
Rocking her like
a baby we sing
to her of a new
day and a new
song where she
will cry no more
and we assure her
with our lips to hers
that we will breathe
for her for a while
until she births her
new self all green
and rare like a
butterfly thought
extinct suddenly
appeared

An End of the Age of Innocence Part Iii

In our fast paced twentieth century world..,

We oft' have neglected to stop to smell the roses,
Oft' we used to bow our heads silently to pray,
As we reflect back to the sixties is had launched a pad to rebellion !
With a vast amount of liberal bias and thinking,

No wonder why our nation is sinking..,

Sinking amidst a cuss pool of mere morality..,
For now it is a quite different time,
A very unique but different type of day..,
An end of the age of innocence,

One hath been enlightened..,

From seeking truth,
Some fresh out of a garbage can..,
Yet for Gods' sake,
He hath such an amazing plan !

Hence, to shun the broad road,

Yet to seek to venture in the narrow..,
Such as a distant bird in flight !
You might see this creature venture out at night ?
Of the Eagle nor the Sparrow..,

It used to mean something to have a sense of common courteous..,
To hold open the door for your neighbor ?
Yet for the time being we relent and waiver..,
Would you prefer another taste of a certain ice cream flavor ?

To ponder we must be content with who we are in the inside..,

Nor, a mere fancy suit or blazing sport's car,
Life is a roller coaster..,
In what you do while busy making other plans..,
Finding solace among the height of nature.,

Such to think at what is quite simple,
As a young child reflects on his or her poster board,
Playing with their magic crayons..,
For in eternity it is such a very long time !

Take heed in what you do,

Now is the expectant hour !
What will one choose to do ?
There can be no place nor need for any compromise,
Within it's vast perpetual spectrum !

One just can't put a price tag on a genuine but unique heart !

Hence, with honest integrity..,
The time for change is today !

Love Your Neighbor

Love Your Neighbor

Jesus said it best but many of us disagree his humble plea
Shades of red, white & blue but nothing knew
It used to be customary to hold open then door but I guess that's too Studio 64
In times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me speaking words of wisdom,

Learn to love like ever before lest I simply implore
The turning of the tide yet we want to run away & hide
To hide behind the false hidden garb of compromise no surprise
Let us dig deeper then ever before to shower the people with love

This kind was crafted & created from heaven up above
Love your neighbor as you would yourself
There's no use in putting that book back on it's shelf
Many hide behind a mask cause their to afraid to reveal their true selves

Thank the good Lord from above with his love
As a brightened rainbow with filtered colors of rich red, yellow & blue
High above the sky we all whisper it's nothing knew
Shelter lies dormant amidst it's beckoning plow

As a beacon of light to a much hurting world in need
Many outside having viscous fangs that bite watch as you bleed
Sullen promise made in the dark have now come to it's fullest of light
Wave your banners high for all to see & light the flame to sweet victory !

A Call For Morality

A Call For Morality

It used to mean something to hold open a door for your neighbor
Old school principles have been long forgotten now it's just hate
We looked up to hero's such as Roy Rogers & John Wayne
Values have been swept under the rug not to be appeared again
Such as helping out at your local soup kitchen & church
We base our morality today on what hollywood says to do
Perhaps we have bitten off far more then we could chew
Put the toilet seat down for the ladies in the house
Have the cap fastened tight on the toothpaste
Little things still mean a lot yet there fading away
Talk to your children of morality & ethical principles
Search for the hidden treasures in the scriptures
We can be a voice as a beacon of hope to a hurting world
Keep the golden your to love your neighbor as you would your self
Remember to love & obey your parents
Help the widow then come to the orphans in there distress
You can make a big difference in life by shining your light bright
Pray for the inner boldness to help make the big difference
There is many things you can do to show your faith in action
The ultimate choice is up to you to practice these basics principles
Search for truth with all your might cause you have every right to know

I had a love, but it flew like a bird
out of the cage but never heard.

I had a voice that spoke with tenderness,
rendered softly, but now I digress.

I had a charm that melted like butter.
Now it's forming artery clutter.

I had ballooned lungs that clung to your air,
but your absence left a pulmonary tear.

I had wide eyes indulged with your beauty,
but they can't relay what a heart can see.

I had a heart like a tender, ripe plum,
but it's been chewed like shoe-stuck gum.

I had honey dance in my playful mouth.
Now it's tasted onion, hard to brush out.

I had a belly that held butterflies.
Now they've come out like powdered lies.

I had tickled ears filled with your melody.
They pranced like deer... into a tree.

I had pennies wasted on vain wishes.
Now they're poisoning the fishes.

I had a nose filled with rose's scent,
but it blew with the breeze, a memory spent.

I had smooth arms secure in your care.
Now they're free, yet lonely, bare.

I had soft hands, interlocked with yours.
Now they hold open their own doors.

I had silken legs you loved to caress.
I keep them neatly under my dress.

I had eyebrows raised with arousal.
Now they're abased, full of sorrow.

I had a smile like a child's for cake.
I still wear one, but it's a fake.

I had instincts, but I let them go
like a rambling tongue for ego's show.

I had a notion that this would end,
but remained devoted like an owing friend.

I had regrets of yesterday's crime,
but they've been bleached like toilet grime.

I had cavernous wounds, dripping with blood,
with prints that followed like galoshes of mud.

I had a self, differently sorted,
once vibrantly alive, now aborted.

Premium Member The 2nd Remembrance - In Memory of Me

Remember me well as I give thanks to each mother.
You women of this world …are simply like no other!
Right from conception to those dreaded contractions.
The thought of our well-being dictated your actions.
You labour at birth for a labour of love,
The pain is immense as you push and you shove.
Through age of ‘innocence’, puberty and adolescence.
With loving and patience, gave succour and guidance.
The angst that we brought was not what you sought
But you gave that no thought in a ‘battle’ well-fought.
From stroppy-boy teen, to the big ‘drama queen’.
Gave a shoulder to lean, as you dealt with the scene.
Get lumbered with nan, as you coped with the clan.
Laid out the best plan, as you do all you can.
Most men would implore, “I beg you, no more!!!”
So applaud you for sure; “Encore, plus encore”
How do I thank you? I can't match this feat!
To even things up: How do I compete?

This gender inequity has no parity; For when is your task ever complete?
The cry for equality is absurdity. Your strength alone makes it obsolete.

….please allow me to….
Offer up my seat - while you rest your feet.
Hold open that door - you replenish your store.
Keep watch as you sleep - and so earn my keep.
Protect you from harm - by wiles or by charm.

When I put you 'first’, I’m just trying my best.
When I buy treats and snacks, it’s my way of saying ‘thanks’.
When I pay for a meal, it's still no big deal.
When I show you respect - it's the least you'd expect.

So many tributes have been written, but with your tenacity, I am smitten.
So be it mother or mama - or mummy or mater ...it matters not one iota...
The world's most arduous occupation ....with little or no reparation.
Retirement is never an option; but the 'bond of love' ...always the best 'pension'.

......so, finally I say this, dearest mother:
'You are a Princess, from the Heavens, borrowed.
Never shall you be, by this Earth, sorrowed'.

Hold Me Too Tight

I could sleep here if my heart would slow,
Breathing you in, savouring this embrace,
Can't help smiling wrapped in you,
I'm drawn to your eyes as I stare at your face,

You ask me what I'm looking at,
Wide mischievous eyes beam right back into mine,
Kisses erase the need for explanation,
Light fades outside as we intertwine,

This room defines you, love when
I see private toilet rolls piled up by the door,
In the kitchen, solely bread to eat
But video games in stacks on the floor,

Then you, headphones dangling from
Inside whichever casual shirt,
Either ripped or skinny jeans and
Converse improved by time and dirt,

Walk me to your flat and back,
You hold open doors and take my hand,
You don't say it, but neither do I,
Assume that we both understand,

Confused, elated, beautiful,
Feelings are overloading me,
So hold me too tight and kiss me goodbye,
And maybe you'll smother my inadequacy.

Love Will Keep Us Together

Love Will Keep Us Together

Since the fall of 1989 I have written poems
For some people it may touch a more spiritual side or awakening
While others it may reflect a vivid reminder to tap into the mind
With all my heart I firmly believe that we should never hide it
Whether you have a talent for cooking, sewing or teaching others
I firmly believe that you should let your beacon of light shine forth
God has put it on my heart to write poetry to the mass population
At times I feel as though he might be distant from me
However it isn't God that has moved it's me that has chosen to
In this inner struggle called life we are perplexed to las out in anger
Perhaps for not providing for our own selfish needs
There is a direct correlation between trusting & obeying
The simple matter of it is that in our own stregnth we are powerless
People perceive that what they do is who they are
This is indeed so far from the truth from within
Love is the true essence of my existence from the resistance
We make sand castles at the beach so far out of reach
To substitute love for that of lust in a world in such a rush
Let's look inside to mend the fences to begin to fix the trenches
Stay humble enough after the fall share a smile to the know it all
Each of us has been given a unique talent from above
Shaped brilliant colors out of the sky as a unique passerby
Hold open the door for a neighbor it may be an angel in disguise
Share a smile cause it's contagious so pass it on to a friend
Sew seeds of kinds to your fellow brother for we all must live to shine !

I Just Want More

Why did he take my friend away
I really thought that she would stay
I couldn't imagine a life without
Her words of wisdom, always about
She'd never miss when I needed her most
A call, a text a little note .
I feel like I took for granted her love
Never around for her as much, as she was
I know it didn't matter to her
She knew my heart she was true blue
I miss her now so much I cry
The tears they fall each from an eye
I know she's touched others the same
Kim Lori's an angel now, that is her name
I reach for the tablet to send her a note
But I'm reminded she's left far and remote
I wish time restarted and we were healthy again
Able to travel with much time to spend
For always and forever I'll never find
Someone as loving and loyal and kind
I miss you Kim Lori, Bug , my dear friend
Hold open the door, candle burning till the end .

Smile Is Contagious

Smile Is Contagious

let's love one another brother stop all the hate going around
be proud of who you are on the inside & choose
to become a beacon of light to a hurting world in need of love
love is the mere essence of the fabric of my existence
don't ever try to join up in its resistance
we can move mountains of evil in our way
those that never confide to bow the knee to pray
but is there another way ?
faceless victims with viscous fangs that bite dripping blood off side
yet I seek for comfort in a higher power
my very soul permeates with a reason to share such love
from a candle light vigil to passing the torch
we are living in a land so very mean
Smile is contagious so pass yours on
sing a lively tune or a love song
the vibrance of lost exploits from a time ago
having so much fun with a tender hope that it would last
the get togethers at the beach
trying to catch that frisbee way out of reach
walking hand in hand along the shore
never felt like this before for you were all I was searching for
kicking the tin can in the street
the ice cream man came by with a heavenly treat
back the it used to mean something to hold open your door for your neighbor
wearing your finest at the mall with the gell in your hair
for i shed a single tear cause you were never there
to bask in the vast expanse of rich tender love
coupled with a heart filled with gold
mark the one willing to explore
so much more with a smile
cause you knew all the great while
it was there all the time what I had been searching for
so today tell somebody there special never forget them
there is always a great lesson the more you keep on confessing
like a rainbow in the dark you lit the inner spark to what is is I'm searching for
when your smiling the whole world smiles with you
when your dancing truly dancing the sun keeps shining through
but when your laughing truly laughing the rain won't fall on you
learn to share with one another the treasure of love

Premium Member Not Fragile

I measure time now in heartbeats
When I hold open a door, I treasure the smile
Humanity, me or all of you, I do not know
I know I am walking the last mile

So now knife in hand
I cut a hole in my heart
Crimson blood flows like ink
To empty pages below

Yes I write with blood
Of tales long gone
Dreams yet to be
Of travels longed overseas

This crazy heart
Drained of life and bodily fluids
Black and deadened
Ugly as the sins once committed

Once I was crazy on you
When sunny days seemed round the bend
Now my thoughts linger, caressed along a sleek pen
A poets thoughts, drowned in his own blood

Part One of They Made Love Uninterrupted As the Monsoon Thundered and Volcanoes Erupted

From across the world
And against all odds
Their prayers were heard
By a Love-struck God.

He heard each's mirrored plea
For someone who brings out the best in me
A caring heart to fill my aching abyss
With passionate lips and Loving kiss.

Trapped and caged in their own unique ways
Yet their desired freedoms were exactly the same
In sweetest of dreams we meet, please remember my name
The mountains rejoiced as the rains swiftly came.

In a far flung corner of cyberspace
I Red your words, my heart did race
We're in the calm amid the eye of a storm
I gave her my heart, I know she'll keep it warm.

I got to know her through her verse
I fell in Love with her through her words
The many ways she teaches me
So many ways she reaches me.

Mutual captivation when our eyes first met
Loyal aspirations to nurture and protect
Such beauty as yours I've never beholden
I see our future gently unfolding.

Those yearning eyes that flutter
In seductive winks
Heart's a churning molten butter
Eye can't resist you, dare not blink.

Your eyes entrance me
my luck says "Chance me
And hold open your arms and heart"
Your loving smile cuts my worries in half.

Like a sun peaking over a mountaintops gradients
She shimmers with a warming inner radiance
With a beauty so deep
It could barely be reached.

She could have five eyes or no nose
And hardly any teeth
Her beauties not only out on show
It's surpassed by the tenderness underneath.

Everything she does never fails to amaze
With cinnamon shades and the highest of grades
I'm madly in Love with a crazy maniac
Maybe that can cure these star-crossed insomniacs

Let Me Tell You I Get No Respect

Let Me Tell You I Get No Respect

What's wrong with society today let me say
It's not fashionable anymore to hold open the door
You just nod your heads and claim that was so 1964
Through field and stream were living in the land of mean
Snap shot moments of celebrity's in their prime
It was the 80's and everyone was dropping and doing a line
Let me tell you I get no respect said the famed of Rodney D,
Flip flops were all the rage with hair spray in the ladies braids
Regarding those times we would often stand in line
The high gas prices & hostages being held in Iran
We waited for somebody with a voice to stand
Waiting in the sidelines for a fitting master plan
Graves were being dug many people in the trenches
I called suicide pevention & they put me on hold
Now you will do as you are told until the rights to you are sold
Theatres being filled with the likes of Jaws & Star Wars,
People were getting busy while on the dance floor at Studio 54
Warhol had his campbell soup cans one man with a plan
Let me tell you I get no respect in a new wave culture in a mess
Shattered dreams filtered through the scene filled with evil schemes
The likes of Frank Sinatra was still the thrill of us all
Back then all the heads stayed put at their local mall
Take me back to those days of the past so much fun that it would last

Days Gone By

She stands upon the castle tower,
long ebon locks caught by a playful wind.
Green eyes gaze across the court yard,
at the first fingers of dawn touching the horizon.
She espies two small clouds of dust,
one from the east and the other from the west,
growing larger as they draw near the castle.
Even now she can see her two suitors approach.
One ,wearing all black,a void
stealing all the light ,
as a thief might take the rays of the sun.
She smiles ,and the other,
Dressed in the purest silver,
agleam in the suns rays.
The Black Knight will ask for her hand.
He will stay out with the boys at the pub drinking,
then wenching, beat her,and never treat her as a lady.
The Silver Knight will ask for her hand.
He will hold open doors for her,
bring flowers to her,show kindness,
and treat her like a princess.
Once again she smiles ,
this is no decision.
She will choose her Silver prince,
to be treated as a lady ,as any woman would wish.
She runs to the stairs leading down, her last thoughts
why would any woman not wish to be treated as a lady?
Why would any man mistreat one of God's greatest gifts?

Where have the days of chivalry gone.
