Best Histrionics Poems
Sometimes extraordinary earthquakes radically rearrange the landscape
Sometimes continents collide, violently vying for the same space
Sometimes the savanna becomes a mountain range dividing two valleys
Sometimes your two best friends are a girl and a guy
she likes him
you like her
Sometimes the savanna becomes a mountain range dividing two valleys
sometimes you wander into a romance novel
not ready for
a love triangle
Sometimes continents collide, violently vying for the same space
sometimes relationships shift and you realize
you are not
the best man
Sometimes extraordinary earthquakes radically rearrange the landscape
sometimes your two best friends get married
and you need
new best friends
Be a blessing to everyone
Inflict neither malice nor poisoned chalice on anyone
If you can heal and feel positive for someone
If you should quit the kingdom of wretchedness
Departing from the abode of wickedness
And abandon cordons of stiffneckedness
Opening your arms wide to friendship
Despite the rancor of hostility and hardship
As God bestows on you the stewardship
To bless your foes
To conquer your woes
To handle well your hoes
In circumstances of blurred vision
In distances and instances where derision
Singes and saps your willpower to make the decision
That turns your life around
Despite your chequered background
God sets your feeble feet on gregarious ground
That propels you forward
Sailing you through Harvard frontward
To land into your hands the just reward
You feel your skills hardly deserve
In a setting that saps your energy and synergy reserve
To catapult your destiny into the preserve
You hardly believe possible
Over and above the sieve of the impossible
For which you’re held responsible
Unless you heal and bless the weak
Surging forth to strengthen and hearten the sick
Ensuring no fate, no destiny remains bleak
If within your power
Lies the possibility to tender a fragrant flower
That brings a smile and hope to someone on the hour
Appointed to relieve stress
To go the extra mile and grace
Faces of despair despite their race
Endeavouring to devour despair
Unhappiness and unbelief to repair
As blessings you shower on the brokenhearted a plethora of care
Essential to restore hope
To enlarge and widen the scope
That sows hope beyond histrionics of horoscope and dope.
Historical Histrionics
The past, alas, cannot be deleted
old scars camouflage denial’s guise
history’s mistakes are oft repeated
when reformation seeks a darker prize
erasure of memories, however bleak,
cloaked within the silence of hates roar
drowning out of voices lest they speak
of truths encased within a living core.
The future, alas, cannot be completed
forsaking the sad lessons of the past
nor forgotten enemies defeated
waging battles within self structured castes.
Would we burden our children with such hate
condemn them to relive unchanging fate?

In a world where silence screams,
Attention seeks your every night and day.
Triggers lurk in screens turned white,
Flickering lights an endless sight.
Likes and shares, currency prized,
Validation sought, a dead end road.
In every utterance, a plea unseen,
For hearts and eyes, search endlessly.
Amidst the noise, a whisper groans,
No peace within, where this attention turned.
People, people, think it through,
the world should have ended
according to you.
This climate change hysteria
has you acting insane,
you've tried to convince us
with your crazy campaign.
Of course there are changes
our planet goes thru,
but an apocalyptic end
just doesn't ring true.
So calm down your nerves
and put to rest your fears
the Earth will be just fine
for another million years!
