BUD & GLOW
Think not my silence forgetfulness
my meaning now to you declare,
my resolution to be, all in this
poetry.This diversity of your
favours now,I dare no longer
silent stay.Some observations
I have framed to myself and
relate to you today.My tears,
many for you,to bud &glow
and bear fruit in your soul and
not take their toll, such fruit of
my observations will I’m sure
bless you more and more.I fear
only that I haver omitted some
fitting circumstance,yet you will
pardon my haste and forgive if
my verse is not entirely to your taste.
From George Herbert letters 1,2,3,4,8
9,10,12,13,15

with this heart,that burns as fire;
with my desire,ever nigh.

At my keyboard, I was busy typing away,
when suddenly this face appeared,
with teeth long, and grey.
It said, "Hello I'm Herbert,
and I'm horrible, and mean,
right now I'm munching my way,
right through your machine.
Files, and folders, are what I love to eat,
and you have lots, and yum,
they taste so good, and sweet.
Now I'm done, and I have eaten my fill,
your computer now is nothing but junk,
please don't try to send me the bill."
Frantically I pressed ctrl, alt, and delete,
but nothing happened, and then the cat woke me,
by rubbing against my feet .

HOMAGE TO HERBERT
How warm the sun upon my face
The morning beauty fills my sight;
With creative, expressive grace
Coloured blue,yellow green and white.
A solstice June
Mid-summer tune
Fills heart and mind with pure delight.
*
Look there,do you see the wall of red brick
each upon the other:
leans with great care.
One joined evenly next to the other
bonded together in
equality:
Participating in their purposes
combining ,each their strengths
the load to share:
Weathered with the storms of life on its face
enduring through
eternity:
*
YOUR TRULY
Why oh why did our sweet love die:
My dearest heart
Has another fancy come nigh:
To take my part?
Did good looks, fine words turn your head:
On rebounds hook
Then to another,he so quickly sped:
And thee forsook
Will words of love and this gold ring:
Now make you mine
With promises,to make bells ring:
This troth is thine.
*
Each day remember not, forgive my sin
My Lord,within
In worship as I praise
to You my hands I raise;
and know you as You are,
close up,not from afar
Each day remember not, forgive my sin
My Lord,within
Help me to stop and wait
for guidance,to relate
when on my knees ,I pray
hear better,what You say
Each day remember not, forgive my sin
My Lord,within
*
THE WITNESS
If ever words fall on deaf EARS
If ever FACE is washed with tears
If ever VOICE is expressing fears
Let now my EARS,my FACE,my VOICE
still make Jesus their choice.
Listen to me recite these poems of homage after the style of George Herbert on
