Strive For Greatness

Take a swing and knock it outta the park!
You can do anything you set your mind to!
Love your neighbor and all that jazz!
Those words still hold true today.

Don't cry you can do much better than them!
Today is the 1st day of the rest of your life!
Close your eyes and make a wish, it will come true!
Am I still telling the truth?
Always look out for number one!
He who laughs last laughs best!
You gotta take anything to get ahead in this life!
Now it's looking a little more clear.

I'm not trying to be a downer here, just stating facts.
You can't get anything today unless you want it bad enough.
And wishing is a foolish waste of anyone's time.
And we ain't got much of that left.

And just for the record, everyone is not a winner!
If there were no losers in life, what would be the point?
Competition and the strive for greatness make this world the best!
And I challenge anyone that wants to prove me otherwise!
Some will say that this is an evil way of thinking.
Let them say what they want, doesn't bother me.
Because when it is all said and done they will see.
When i'm at the finish line waiting on them.

Voices In My Head

Silliness reigns in my heart today Need to share it, that's pretty plain Everything seems to be coming my way Must be in the oncoming lane This one seems quite appropriate today Never die for your beliefs There's a good chance you could be wrong It's over, no chance for reprise They say “he who laughs last laughs best” I say that “he” just didn't get it Constipated people just don't give a crap Pretty uptight you could bet on it The sex we had last night was so good Even the neighbours lit a cigarette Now that's so utterly ridiculous my friends Had their ears against the wall, I bet You're just jealous coz those voices I hear Have chosen to speak only to me Happiness is having a very close-knit family Permanently residing in another city Okay enough, is enough, is enough Well just one more, then promise to end it To tell the truth I don't suffer from insanity I enjoy every damn minute of it © Jack Ellison 2013

He Who Laughs Last

Laughter brightens the face
Laughter gladdens the heart
It sure does lightens the mood
It sure does enlightens the spirit.

some delight in making others laugh
Some delight in holding others laughter
Others create avenue for people to laugh
Others always see reason to laugh.

People may seize the opportunity of your laughter
People may create seizure for your laughter
They may really laugh at you sometimes
They may really laugh at you all the time.

Be happy for your season shall surely come
When it is time for your laughter it shall come
Rejoice for your time of laughter shall come
When your laugh comes last you laugh the best.

humour me

not exactly the girl interrupted
not exactly the girl interrupted
said the boy with a promise to repeat
he who laughs last laughs best
laughs best he says
im not sure the joke is on me

Something funny he asks
something funny?
the sense of humour surrounding me
surrounds me

the joke i have become
the joke i have become
you never know what retard is packing a nun

something funny he asks
something funny?
the sense of hilarity surrounding the joke i am

how many shocked sherrifs
shocked sherrifs
does it take to get me
out of this?
wanna take a crack at the answer

The psycho in the bath
complains
humour me
humour me
the sense of humour im among
isn't funny
isn't funny

not exactly the girl interrupted
the girl interrupted he says
with a promise to repeat
never know what retard is packing a nun
packing a nun

if your gonna lay the rail he says
lay the rail
better be ready to ride the train
he who laughs last laughs best he says
laughs best
i'm not sure this joke is on me

In the sexy trees
the sexy trees
i stare into like clouds
i see the tree spirits making love
i see the tree spirits shaking the tree
Practicing to look into the stars
into the stars he keeps rearranging
rearranging to tell me something
tell me something
i didn't before see

the joke that surrounds me
the laughter of everyone
everyone laughing at me
humour me says the psycho in the bath
the psycho in the bath says
humour me

the sexy trees your fifth element
a fifth element
telling me something about the stars
the stars he keeps rearranging
rearranging to tell me something
he who laughs last laughs best he says
laughs best
with a promise to repeat
i don't think this joke is on me
