Best Harmless Poems
Harmless guest
Underneath Zoom chair
Some small creature fleeing in confusion
Ah ha, a brown lizard, harmless four-legged guest
Hiding and scared, aren’t you?
So am I
Please do not visit me in bed tonight
Mi-casa-su-casa
prey on insects and spiders all you want
and Thank you
for house cleaning service
Mi-casa-su-casa
Enjoy this big playground
hanging out in small covered spaces
under any couches, chairs, desks, bookshelves, or tables in the house
Closets, vents, baseboards, cushions, and potted plants
unlimited places to hide
One early morning
A two-legged guest picks up his underpants
Surprise!
A four-legged guest skydive dropping onto the ground
fleeing in amusement

A Harmless Creature is the Ant,
Until it crawls inside your pant,
Or invites itself to your picnic table,
Intending your little picnic to disable.
And of course, there's always the kitchen floor
That it ruins in waves of "zillions more."
Yes, a harmless creature is the ant,
---As harmless as a nuclear power plant.

You promised me the days we sung and cooked and danced, painting each others nails would come back someday
You promised me, so i sat restless, watching the pass of everyday, pass me by, memories souring as the clock ran
Harmless illusions wipe away as i realize what i had been surrounded by, with each spent sunday i realised i was lucky when you ran away
Harmful children come from hazardus playgrounds,i was raised to bring pain, i know a million ways that i can
You promised, something so insignificant, you are someone who should never have been given a second thought, so why do i feel this way
You promised something so small, years later something that didn’t matter yet my mind still paints you a con-man
Harmless was never really a word i’d have thought to use for you unless in a singular action like today
Harmful even when you don’t realise i guess your the same in one way, you were a liar before our relationship began

Limerick : Once a Poet used an harmless Word
for Andrea D. & Catie L.
Once a Poet used an harmless Word
Word over-use connotes slicing Sword
Sword decapitates sense:
Poet’s sauna incense
Now Word’s Wraith rants on Kerouac Road.

I’m an unwitting symbol of fear
just on Halloween night every year.
I’m a pet, someone’s lovely black cat--
not a goblin, a ghoul, or a bat!

Light Verse
-Quiet voices with low decibels are taken with offense. Preconceived notions, spoken words without thought, inserting smileys to disclaim. Invertebrate personas can be seen evaporating from the skin, with the naked eye. Forming a resin that keeps building up over time. Labeling you with defects of character. Beating around the bush, hiding from problems; loose ends form. Texts twist the dough sprinkled with good intentions. Life's a *****, it hurts, don't it? Untied shoes are today's special, featuring potential failure. Intentional lack of preparation. Detached from the lanyard of civilization. Eyes disconnect; declining their calls. Reading the texts with disregard. Getting notifications and silencing alarms. Misdirected; free-falling off the imaginary edge of fictional beliefs. Playing a new version of make believe. Pretending with the help of it's big brother assumption, the answers we do not know. Taking offense to the actions committed with good intent. Overthinking the simple things in life. Misinterpretations of the harmless innuendos.

Prose Poetry
An ocean, a calm vibrant ocean
The moon resting until it's his time to wake once more
and give light to night
No tides, no illustrious tides nor waves
to hinder the calm of this ocean
to disturb the depths of the sea floor nor the creatures it holds
It is there, there summons a shark
a silent shark, a small basking shark
mulling about, pacing back and forth in between it's giant walls
at first for thought, at first for a purpose, at first for a reason
but as time passes the moment is lost
the reason is gone and sits this shark with the ability
to swim like lightning
sits this threatening shark who is just as harmless as a starfish
fighting for control
trying to remember what purpose it has
trying to remember anything
anything short term but there it runs
an undersea rabbit as fast as it can be
and somehow the shark, sits a tortoise wanting to do something
but just sinks further and further hitting the bottom floor
A dark abyss, a darkness only lit by the sun fading ever so slowly...
'What's the point? ' he says frustratingly as he closes his eyes
What's the point...what's the point...

I never thought the pain could make me feel this way
Getting over you will take some time I hear them say
I thought that I’d forget you, control my life and make
The memory of your sweet love, a harmless heartache
I was not brand new to love, I’d had a round or two
But no one ever made me feel the way you always do
It’s not a harmless heartache when it burns you deep inside
This heart feels every memory and knows the tears I’ve cried
If I could bring her back again I’d never let her go
I’d treat her like a queen now that I know the things I know
You’re playing with the hottest fire, you think your heart won’t break
Then you’ll see you can’t escape the harmless heartache
Just a harmless heartache, I’m feeling here tonight
You’d still be here with me, and we’d hold each other tight
But you say I’ll be better off, and so just for my sake
You left me here alone to bear my harmless heartache

Lyric
There is no place for a harmless heart to hide
Like bruises on her skin the pain is on the outside
No refuge for the shadows within her eyes
No mask could ever be a fitting disguise
Where can a homeless heart go
Should it sit in the gutter, be on show
There should be a haven safe from further pain
When tears like raindrops fall to mirror flooding rain
Harmless or homeless the heart is lost in space
For there is no soft and warm welcoming place
The only place that is safe and true
Is the strength and fire within you

Attraction of the force of gravity
Prevents us from falling out into space
What will prevent we mankind
From falling into evils
Education maybe
Religion maybe
Our conscience maybe
Maybe we're born innocent and harmless
And we gradually pick up evils because of greeds and temptations
Maybe we're born a saint
But finally lost in the fight against evils
Whatever it's
A salvation by the almighty God is needed
Just like the enormous force of gravity

Hurgle-y, Gurgle-y
Gastrointestinal
Silly sounds stomachs make:
Borborgymi!
Reflux and GERD both see
Hyperacidity,
Heartburn and stomach aches:
More Tums for me!

Note to self: Double Dactyl, somewhat akin to a limerick… A dactyl is a three syllable word with the emphasis on the first syllable.
This one opens with a nonsense double dactyl, then must use a 6 syllable word on line 2, then another double dactyl, closing out with a dactyl + 1.
A second stanza has the same format. The two stanzas are to be related, and their 4th lines should rhyme.
I'm a little unclear on the naming convention, so I phrased it as something that could be answered by reading the two stanzas
So that’s my first effort, not terribly sure if it was successful...

A harmless old geezer who loves everybody
It's the creed I live by, the cream of the croppy
It's my lot in life
A secret device
Used since forever, I learned from my Poppy
