My Walkabout...The nights were long
and my days seem short
had to do something
so I left my port
A one-way ticket
on a greyhound bus
a compelling journey
inner feeling must trust
first stop,Durango
high in the Rockies
a couple of days hiking
loud thunder was shocking
Next stop,was Gallup
from here,began my walk about
unsure of destination
first step...

How I Got Rich and What Happened ThenWritten in summer of 1976.
I used to eat my lunch with groups
of businessmen from Campbell Soups.
We drank a drink at lunch each day
Of Coca-Cola mixed with hay
And talked of pending corporate plans
And willow-haired orangutans.
I spent a lot of time this way
At doing things that were...

I'Ll Vote My Way, Thanks!I will not be dismissed as a dunce,
lumped together by Gallup or Luntz.
I will get out and vote
without need to emote
and defy every pollster for once....

Limerick
After I Got RichAs from his Book of Rules He read,
“Tsk-tsk tsk-tsk, St. Peter said.
So PICKED up I my bags and left
For that damnéd lower cleft.
I stomped away then turned and paused.
How much fuss had my fib caused?
A pardon'd come if I'd just wait.
Saint Pete just smiled then...

A Come Down World View From On Highsome-tin-can-tan-man

Lost In ThoughtNow who would of thought the thoughts that would truly get the mind lost in fragile thought?
So much on our known life,
about unknown death when we laugh at others but at ourselves we really cry,
in our very own hidden truth lies,
amongst...

Win a lottery ticket but in effort's of taxes is it a single,

The Pony RideTHE PONY RIDE
I'm going for a pony ride
to gallup through the countryside
and if you'd like to ride with me
I'm sure there's bound to be
a pony just for you.
I'm going to the county fair
and we can ride our ponies there
if you'd come to the fair with...

Riding the Air,To My Lady Fair....As I gallup my steed
amongst towering elm and snowy birch
jump hurdle like equestrian
over fallen cedar and trickleling brook
in urgency I ride return
bursts of wind the sod does fly
'neath thundering hoofs from spurred flanks
my hard charger senses my determination
My lady fair, why do I think of you...

Equine LinesShaped by and for wind
the free flowing mane
timetables share in
the horses of the plain
Gallop trot sprint unfold
climbing breezes oblivion
stoney story is told
sculpted in black obsidian
Herds mighty now stampede
on hooves brittle exposed
o’er rocky ground to succeed
the grasses’ tufts unimposed
Crashing prairie like...

Horseback RideThe equestrian climbs
atop the painted colt.
Avoiding a saddles restrictions
she rides the horse bareback
to combine their energies,
making them as one.
The thoroughbred begins to trot.
Gradually increasing the pace.
Each step, each movement
becomes an extension of the rider.
From trot, to canter, to gallup.
As the thoroughbred...

Past LivesMerman in a tide pool
Mermaid of my mind
Gallup me unicorn
Center my centaur
Mysticism in myth
Is it real?
Not now, but maybe before
Once a unicorn
Today I canter
Towards my destiny
Now a maiden
Washing her hate away
In the waves
Roll me tight, ocean ******
Salvation is in...

Not For Me a Gift For YouI am now addicted to poetry soup.
Not because of its comments and
contest,but because of poetry's truth.
I enjoy sharing with you poetry's soup.
In a cold world full of lies and truth.
So every day in poetry soup
i mix peas,carrots,fleshy words,
scallops and on my poetic write
for all of...

Dropping FastRacing the dark from Albuquerque to Flagstaff
old questions trailed behind me
The highway marked with broken dreams
of searchers long ago
As Gallup filled my rearview mirror
the sun reached out and grabbed me
My last horizon dropping fast
