How A Blue Rose Came to Be

Once upon a time, many years ago,
There was a sweet and lovely - red, red Irish rose,
That was plucked prematurely, from the garden vine;
A budding beauty, taken in her prime.

She was laid to rest, upon the death, of a lovers dream;
Upon a chest of ebony, where lie, his would-be  Queen;
Lowered deep into the depths, of the church yard cemetery;
Her scarlet petals, wilting in the summer breeze.

Then the earth begin to fall, like autumn leaves;
Upon her petals, and the chest of ebony,
From above her tomb, where stood the grieving groom
Weeping , weeping, like a willow tree.

Then the sky begin to disappear, amid that mournful cry,
As tears - from above, fell from that lovers eyes,
And came to rest, like dew drops on that Irish rose,
As she disappeared beneath the earth,
There in his grief below.

In time, he laid a stone of ivory - upon her grave;
Etched deeply - with the promise he had made:
To love his Irish Rose - forever and a day.

The years and all their seasons came and went,
And a million lonely tears were cried and spent,
Upon her grave where everyday he knelt and prayed,
And dreamed of her until his dying day.

The epigram has long since faded on the ivory stone,
That still stands alone upon her grave,
Where from the million tears of love he gave,
A seemingly impossible - blue, blue rose has grown.

There's a place whence children dwell amid fairy stories, popcorn rainbows & candied unicorns, which is fine & dandy except when you're supposed to be a grown-ass adult, some people live 'round La-La landscapes without a hint of reality's woefulness, unable to read skywriting on the cosmos If you believe in miracles or that nothing ever changes and love lasts forever and a day or just say, you got a damn ticket because your unicorn was inconveniently double-parked, rest assured thine meter is delusional

Solitude

Ah! To be adrift upon the boundless sea sailing, sailing, sailing!
Alone with the sea and pristine sky with southerly winds prevailing.
No particular destination in mind as upon the surging sea I plod,
Nor is there another soul in view as I quietly commune with God!

Ah! To be alone at night in the desert pondering, pondering, pondering!
I lie to refresh my weary bones after a day of vagabond wandering,
Savoring the soothing quietude with gentle zephyrs caressing my face,
Gazing heavenward as constellations wink at me from outer space!

Ah! To scale the highest mountain where even eagles dare not fly!
The precious solitude of it all! I can reach out and touch the sky.
Such divine inspiration it brings to this mere mortal's languid soul,
As God's Creation beyond is revealed for me to relish and extol!

Ah! To amble down a forest path when autumn leaves adorn the trees!
Gold and crimson leaves waft about me, stirred by an occasional breeze.
I'm awed by the Master Artist's handiwork no mere artist dare portray.
This priceless solitude and beauty I shall treasure forever and a day!

Ah! To lie 'neath a shade by a rippling stream and dream, dream, dream!
Watching vagabond clouds scudding across the sky in solitude supreme!
I suppose there are folks who prefer to mingle with the multitude,
But I treasure time alone to muse and write in peaceful solitude!

My Angel Got Her Wings

my angel got her wings
one day
and just like that
she flew away
way up in the sky
toward God
seeing the invisible
and praising the Lord
some may ask me
how i feel
because i lost something
really real
my mind will wonder where to go
without her it just doesn't know
my eye's will miss her
they already do
and my ears that listened
they miss her too
and the chair next to me
will be empty for a while
and my words"I Love You"
won't make a sound
pictures will remind me
of your smile
i did get to love you
for a little while
but deep in my heart
that's where you'll stay
forever you'll be
forever and a day

THE END OF SUMMER

At the end of summer as the days light grows shorter,
I’ll pack up the last pains of trouble, and live every tranquil
Moment of splendors warmth that I can!
In the burnet rays of sunshine, I’ll walk serenities beach soaking
Up the sunsets, and drinking them within deeply, the color palate
Array as it splashing against the distant horizon!
Listen dearest friend can you hear the waves lapping, playfully
Snapping at the boulders of the lake, as the rippling white tides,
Seamlessly rush against the sandy shores!
In the city parks the grills sizzle with the smells of masque,
As children’s laughter fills the echoing woods with the sounds
Of childhood frolic, and the smoke of gray deliciousness calls
To their inner scenes of hunger!
Sometimes I’ll go and just watch them, and remember those simpler
Days when I was young myself, what a time of true wonderment that
Was so many years ago, I can almost hear my mother’s voice calling me,
Saying it’s time for dinner, back then in those far faded shadows not
So long ago, but it is the end of summer now!
The Canadian geese are flying south for the winter,
Stopping by for a refuel not far from the many ponds, and lakes
Nearby, how I wish I could join in those led lines so close to heaven,
To behold the magic they’ve seen on their many adventures of flight!
Many leaves begin the slow change of colors, soon autumn will be
Darning a new gown of splendors magnificence, my camera lens
Will shutter and click, to capture the wondrous changes
That Mother Nature exposes to the eyes of humanity!
In my photo album of seasons, I’ll look backwards and
Remember these special times of natural glory,
The quiet walks of solitude through the wilderness,
Those moments of special tranquility in the stilled hush
Just before sunrise!
Listening carefully, I can almost hear the songs of the morning
 Sparrows awakening the birth of a new days dawning,
As it rustles in the forest pines, at the end of summer,
These are the vivid visions I will maintain always!
The chill in the winds tells me it will soon be here,
And the wintery white powder hangs heavy within
The autumn air!
Oh why does summer have to end so quickly?
My heart wishes it would last forever and a day,
But at least I have my pictures of beauty to remind me,
Of those light hearted days gone by, until the next
Year’s warmth caress my face once more.
I’ll sit here in my easy chair of remembrances, turning my
Pages of freeze frames photographs, and tenderly
Drift backwards into thoughts of warmth and laughter,
Enjoying these memories of the end of summer’s reflections!

How I Love You

 I love you as I love the warbling birds of spring
That tones sweet the fragrant hours of day
Just like the Trini flower's soft murmurings
On the sacred fields tender as you lay.

I love you as I love the first smile of the sun
Kissing soft the cherry blossoms by the streams
That like the falling of the dews: mighty spun
Bathing the empty spaces of my dreams.

I love you without knowing the touch and taste
Of beauty's lips plucked from the purest flower
I love you as I love the stars warm embrace
That hugs you in the moonlight hours.

I love you as I love the first ripe fruit of Summer
That sates these poor longing lips of mine
Which holds the last fair kiss of you my flower
By the sweet mountain's dripping pine.

I love you with breath, passion, longing and might
I love you with the deep fire trembling in my veins
I love you till the ends of the unsearchable height
I love you as I love the drumming of the rains.

For I will be your captain till forever and a day
To steer you from the storms, to calm you from the fear
Yet still I love you with the words I fail to say
With every swooning heart beat, with every falling tear!

Ps. This will be my final poem here.

You Take My Breath Away

Seductive verses written with strong attraction, you take my breath away,
lingering kisses beyond Venus, loves distraction, you take my breath away.

Passionate intentions between two loving souls can last forever and a day,
you are my everything and that is only a fraction, you take my breath away.

Unleash my desires swaying to our song, please promise to always stay,
sweep me off my feet, while we create interaction, you take my breath away.

We can create a steamy island with palm trees and become castaways,
intense devotion brought from strong satisfaction, you take my breath away.

My olive skin started glowing under the stars, there are no words to convey,
you long for the treasures in my secret contraction, you take my breath away.

Canyons Cold and Dark

She dwells in deep canyons cold and dark
To ponder a mystery that haunts her soul
That leaves confusion and doubts in heart
The loss of confidence now takes its toll

To ponder a mystery that haunts her soul
That renders sleepless hours through the night
The loss of confidence now takes its toll
A flower slowly dying withers in sunlight

It renders sleepless hours through the night
The days are shortened and she wastes away
A flower slowly dying withers in sunlight
Her sweet fragrance lost, forever and a day

The days are shortened and she wastes away
What could be this wrong which she has caused?
Her sweet fragrance lost, forever and a day
To fully grasp this puzzle she requires pause

What could be this wrong which she has caused?
What pain has she laid upon your heart?
To fully grasp this puzzle she requires pause
She dwells in deep canyons cold and dark

Life After Love

You believe in life after love
You went places I did not go.
I told you it was breaking down.
The  foundation of our Love
You said hold on a minute
I'll be right back.

We needed to fix it then I said
I waited for you to come back.
Forever and a day it seemed
But when I saw your face
My heart lit up like always
And everything else fades away.

Then you'd say to me again
Hold on to this I'll be right back.
I told you, you can't leave, not again.
You said to hold this I'll be right back.
I promise you this time I mean it.
You know I love babe you know I do.

I said but what if I get tired and it falls.
I trust you I know you won't let it.
I said if it shatters on the floor
Then it will be to late to fix it.
And it will be swept away
All that will be left on the floor
Are teardrops where I cried.

Because he cares

Because he cares you will sleep well tonight
Because he cares he will watch over you until the morning Light
Because he cares he will help you every single day
Because he cares he will shelter you from any storms of life that comes your way
Because he cares he will stay by your side forever and a day
Because he cares his love will never wither or fade away
Because he cares on lifes' Journey he will help you get through
Because he cares and especialy because he loves you,

Because he cares, Nothing can ever seperate us from the Love of God, Amen.

the visit

my love came to me
with a song
i played it over and over
all day long
and love reminded me
of memories
memories that have
traveled through
my heart, my mind and soul
showing me things
my eye's can no longer behold
my ears can no longer hear
or my hands grasp
or my tommorows hope for
she showed me love i had
and wished i had
yes indeed i was very glad
my memories today
the best i ever had

thoughts of her
dived in and out of me
changing me like channels
playing me like keys
all my deep emotions
each one as she pleased
my joy, my tears
she vanquished my fears
we spoke and said what we came
to say
that our love
will live forever and a day
i was amazed at how God
let her speak
in his secret and special way
that He and i speak
i know you don't believe
you have to have faith
when i need God the most
He shows me
a little of His face

Hearts and Magic

Candy coated kisses
Candy hearts
Hearts made of paper
Hearts in love
Love is selfless
Love is a mystery
Mystery to solve
Mystery of life
Life is worth living
Life is precious
Precious moments
Precious promises
Promises of devotion
Promises of forever
Forever and ever
Forever and a day
Day is dawning
Day to celebrate
Celebrate true love
Celebrate with flowers
Flowers in a vase
Flowers growing wild
Wild and crazy
Wild about you
You light up my life
You and I
I love you
I love chocolate
Chocolate bonbons
Chocolate kisses
Kisses long and sweet
Kisses on my lips
Lips red with wine
Lips that invite
Invite a smile
Invite to dinner
Dinner for two
Dinner by candlelight
Candlelight flickers
Candlelight whispers
Whispers sweet nothings
Whispers of romance
Romance brings pleasure
Romance is a dream
Dream of me
Dream of magic
Magic weaves a spell
Magic is mysterious

Material Things.

Oceans ebb and flow as do the winds that blow
spinning eddys into whirls dragging the trapped through
  dizzying holes.
Material things are just the same they come and go,
fleeting ,mundane things that do not stay
only obstruct the way to cause delay
of better things to come.

A shadow's here one minute ,gone the next
same as the sun that rises and sets.
  Shifting sands play hide and seek
 the moon itself so often peeks
between the clouds ,knowing all too well
material things stay only for a spell.

Seek that which lasts and never ends
 as we journey on the wings of time,
 attachment to material things
is  surely a  child's pastime.
Store up blessings ,instead of riches,
they last forever and a day, and help you
along the narrow path towards the golden gates.
When you arrive on that happy day
wouldn't you like to hear God say
Peter.... Open up them Pearly gates
my friend has come to stay?

Forever Masquerade

She comes to me impalpable.
A courtesan of crimson red dreams.
Her words fall from her lips in ethereal melodies.
Pulling my twine to seal the seams.
The nature of her existence,
Whispering along the hue of my suspended form.
Her voice becomes substantial to my eyes.
She recreates images of a thunderstorm.
Lightning cracked as she portrayed,
A landscape engulfed by dark clouds with no rain.
Beneath the canopy people danced a masquerade.
The music played on as they stepped their sin.
Entering among them, a mask upon my face,
An aching search ebbing within.
There through the crowd soft brown eyes met my gaze.
She swam through the dancing sea taking my hand.
We began to merge our steps; souls ablaze.
There adrift the violin of the forgotten land.
The reason for our creation became known.
As we held each other in such a caring way.
Something between us had secretly grown.
We would remain dancing together. Forever and a day.

Forever Young

If my flesh should ever wither away
My soul will live on forever and a day.
My good deeds and stains I've made in this world
Will cycle through forever like a washers whirl.
I will live forever...i could never die!!!
My spirit is what you loved
The flesh is for the eye.
You need not mourn nor lament
My flesh will die but my spirit will transcend.
You can enjoy me over and over like a cd or tape
In spirit i will live forever... day by day.

Will You Dance?

Will you dance, if I gently hold your hand?
Lean on me, for I will not let you fall
It's not hard, it's like learning how to stand
Don't be shy, close your eyes and give your all

Will you smile, if I whisper in your ear?
I will tell you the secrets in my heart
It's okay, there's nothing for you to fear
I'm the painter, and you my work of art

Will you love me until the day I die?
I will love you forever and a day
We cannot let this feeling pass us by
It's just funny that love should start this way

Don't be shy, close your eyes my darling wife
Will you dance if I promise you're my life?

Orchard Planting Time

.
When in marriage, life together just begun
       Planned on adding to this wordly estate
Planting an orchard was so much fun
       Foreseeing years of luscious fruit on plate

But all things of this world cycle
       Being brought down to death and decay
Very few of the trees still stand now
       They have gone to other uses_ maybe sleigh

These temples are made of dust and minerals
       They will be put away in the dark earth grave
But there is our soul which is immortal
       It will live forever and a day

I Keep Telling my Father.

I keep telling my father, sure dad I'l be better, I'll get my life together.

He looks at me with a desparte face, "Okay my little one"

I keep telling my father I'll get my life together.

I don't mean to hurt him.... I really mean what I say,

I just get cought up in my old ways!!!

I don't want to be this way.

So I'm saying this prayer for the first time today,

Father in heaven, wash away the years and tears I

flew by in just a couple of days.

I love you Lord . Keep me in your arms forever and a day!

You are my addiction
This I know to be true
At a certain age
A child should be grown
And not think of childish things
I've known this forever and a day
But, still, I can't help but think of you

Eternal Beauty

I can see us kicking around in our old hometown
Where the pylons buzzed crackling with dampness
Into the open cast crust of the iron ground;
And as I recall there was never a time that felt as cool
Or as real and full of youth and life as when I
Would meet you walking home from school;
You were a smile and ponytail vision even then,
The laughing, almond eyes that teased and mock admonished,
Until, on parting, I could hardly wait to see you again;
Even though you barely tip-toed on the erotic verge of womanhood
Even though you had only just turned sixteen,
You shone with the self-assured presence of a life-long beauty queen.

I can still see us hanging around in our old hometown
Where days were as spun gold threads, the weave of months,
When the sun in the endless summer sky shone down;
And as I recall there was never a time that felt quite so fine
As when I kissed your lips and tasted their pinkish dew
And you kissed the fading tobacco of mine;
We seemed to have forever and a day way back when,
And those days and nights seemed so full of meaning,
Immortalised in our minds as if they could never end;
Now, even though it was so long ago and so long past
I see you fresh and clear, and your looks that could almost kill,
For you burned with eternal beauty that fires and haunts me still.

                                                   your love forever is my plea;

                                                     i want to kiss your warm full lips,

                                                     as from your body your love drips;

                                                      to stroke your hair and kiss your breast,

                                                       love you forever is what i attest;

                                                       to put my body close to yours,

                                                       as we make love for many hours;

                                                       so always be right by my side,

                                                       your love from me should never hide;

                                                       stay forever in my life,

                                                       never cause me pain and strife;

I Prayed

 This depression, got me down;
Seems like no one cares, no ones around;

Feeling, sad and so blue;
Seems like, I don't have you;

Lord, I don't have, have you;

I prayed
just prayed
and still
have no way to show for what you have said
so over and over again. . . I pray

I just found out;
I began having doubts;

My mind it's clout? ? ?
What am I doing that's. . . .

what's wrong with you God
Do you hear me calling you, Lord;
What am I to do OH!! so I repent of myself, and just held myself and I, I, just...

I prayed
just prayed
and still
have no way to show for what you have said, what you do or did;
so over and over again. . . I just prayed

All I ever needed is a forgiving someone;
And a love of mine own;
so I stop sheading these tears I'm crying;
Need to stand up and be a Godly man(woman);

so I prayed
just prayed
and still prayed forever and a day
Lord, God I'll let you have your way in my life come here do what you do what's may cause all I want to do is just
Pray

And I fell on my knees;
 And cried out to the Lord please;
Please save me, save me, save me;

so I prayed
just prayed
and still good God almighty I am entitled to pray and stay in the will of His and be one of many child's so I fall on my knees over and o'ver agin and just
Pray

I close my eyes with a sincere heart;
myself bleeds and I stay in His presents;
He embraces me caress me forgiving me He engulfs me in His agape love;

and I prayed
and I prayed
and I prayed and asked for forgiveness
each and every second, minute, hour, morning, noon, night, (always)

and I prayed
just prayed
and I prayed
for the answers
and I prayed for blessings;
and I prayed for longevity;
and I prayed to be with Him, forever in Heaven;
and I prayed for you;
will you pray for me to;
May God bless those that read these words;
so I prayed
for your life
and I prayed
that everything will be alright
and I prayed
for all mankind
and when things get you down
and no one seems to care
just go inside your closet and stay..
just pray
this I pray
and I prayed

Playing Possum Poker

Politics is a cat-and-mouse poker game,
	     Some play it well,
others not so much
Amateurs show their hidden hand,
they got an easy-to-spot tell
But the old pros are the best cons,
selling you wet dreams from a dry well
It’s a two-party poker game in the U.S. of A,
has been like this now forever and a day
	          ... at least it seems that way
There’s a lot of cheese in the budget mouse traps,
and a pack of donor dogs chasing those political cats
There’s a lot of dark scurrying by the greediest rats,
avoiding the crook catchers taking another light nap
				Today, Democrats may be the cat,
		tomorrow, they may be the rat
           Yesterday, Republicans may have been the cat,
                        tomorrow, they may be the rat
Both wanna pocket the money, easy peasy ...
and to the people,
	   they ain’t planning on giving it back
If you ask them where is the stolen sack,
playing possum is how they’re gonna act
Pointing fingers is what they all do best,
then give more campaign promises next
		Saying another election’s coming up,
so just reshuffle the marked deck
Playing possum poker is a grifter’s art,
gotta have a poker face and an empty heart
They love betting the farm, which is money you don’t got
Turning their pockets red to black, when they win the pot
Tip the shady dealer who tipped the hand,
the House always comes up Senate empty
	time and time again
As both parties tell you, they’re gonna catch THOSE rats,
	if you vote THEM in

Our Life

On a blustery sunny Thursday
In December of fifty-four
We stood before a preacher
To pledge our love forever more

We didn't have a tux or gown
A suit and dress were worn
A nervous bride and groom they were
On that cold December morn

She lovely as an angel stood
He, facing her with love
In hopes the union of these two
Were blessed by God above

They then recited all their vows
Till death should do us part
And with a kiss they sealed their love
With a fullness in their hearts

She is my bright and shining star
Sent to me from above
And till the very end of days
Will be my own true love

This love we've shared for many years
Through good times and thru strife
And both remained so much in love
As husband and as wife

You'll see them with each other
Just walking side by side
The love light shining in their eyes
Reflects the husband and his bride

Should God decide just one should go
Before the other's time
My fervent prayer would be to Him
The life you take be mine

Wrapped up in memories so sweet
It could be called divine
What makes the memories so neat?
They'll pass the test of time

I wouldn't want to stay this earth
Without my lovely wife
There'd be no joy, no happiness
An empty shell of life

Should I be first, and she remain
I'll wait upon a cloud
And whisper to the changing winds
In voice so strong and loud

Here comes my wife I've waited for
Her red hair streaked with grey
And hand in hand we'd walk once more
Forever and a day!
