Notes About The Poem

Forever and a Day

Jesus, use me – please
Use me to open a heart,
To silence the dark,
To restore someone’s hope.
Use me to hear a soul,
To gentle the worst doubt,
To stir up a fire, your spirit.
Use me to pray and praise,
Throughout all my days,
With this grace who’ll amaze.

Jesus, use me
To move another to love,
To sing your song, euphonious
To offer grace, as you have done.
Use me to hear your advice,
To understand, even the strife,
To believe, accept, delight…
In the beauty that You provide,
The music you play inside,
The joy of knowing Your light!

Jesus, use me
To relieve someone’s grief,
To inspire a moment to breath,
To send faith to those in need.
Use me to carry a burden for a friend,
To color the days in gentleness,
To praise the Lord with everything within,
To abide in the love that You send,
To refuse to give up or give in,
To know You because You were sent…

To end all my fears,
To abolish my tears,
To be with me through the years…

Forever, You are the presence who brings
Peace without end,
Thank You, dear Jesus,
For loving me more than I can comprehend.
You’re the purpose of my praise
And You never fail to amaze.

I love You today and every day
