As My Sad Tears Fall, Its Gown Glows A Fearsome Red

I simply can not write good poetry today
yesterday's ghost haunts me and will not go away,
on its torn black cap and red shoes are jingling bells
in its raging red eyes are high, sea raging swells.
Ruby ringed left hand, holds repugnant staff of wastes
in its right, bucket of blood, begging bitter tastes!

I simply can not write good poetry today
last night's dreams, yesterday's persistent ghost yet stays
replaying scenes that are chosen to break my heart,
screaming, beautiful red roses were torn apart.
As my sad tears fell, its gown glows a fearsome red
casting curses upon lying words I once said.

A Fearsome Man Passing By

A Fearsome Man Passing By
By Roy Merritt

A fearsome man passes by here whenever a storm arrives
A fearsome man with fearsome countenance and fearsome be his eyes
They be a fiery red a red not easily defined
A red that would make you tremble to send a shiver up your spine
And no one ever addresses him no one dare this at all
For he strikes but fear in them and fearful be his pall
And as he moves along the streets casting this and that away
As if some monstrous beast in search of some hapless prey
Most just flee inside, sanctuary they seek
For they know he is evil and evil it is he reeks
They have no idea why when a storm clamors through
Why he wanders this place why this he need to do
They know not if he an omen of portent of ill to form
Or simply some wayward monster lost upon the storm
Perhaps he be a demon perhaps why red his eyes
Perhaps some eager demon keen to exercise
And when it storms he wanders and sallies forth this way
But none of us who see him can ever truly say
But one thing is for certain none shall ever inquire
None will ever ask it of him for the terror he doth inspire
We just watch from our window as he journeys down the path
And pray for the storm to go pray it soon to pass
Pray it go quickly and soon enough to pass

A FEARSOME NOMINEE

If you could only see this breath taking panoramic view from the sky,
Soaring with me in thermals, my eagle eye searching below to dine,
You could tag me whilst flying through contours of clouds up high,
And we’d dive down together to mother earth, spotting a meal fine!

Soaring with me in thermals, my eagle eye searching below to dine,
Let chaos rule beneath, my heart has been bathed in a soothing balm,
And we’d dive down together to mother earth, spotting a meal fine!
Today the Eagle took his mate, 'Take care my beauty' says he 'be calm'.

Let chaos rule beneath, my heart has been bathed in a soothing balm,
For all the animals on earth and birds of the air, have done no wrong!
Today the Eagle took his mate, 'Take care my beauty' says he 'be calm'.
I, His majesty of the skies, fearsome, will stop chaos and lead the strong.

For all the animals on earth and birds of the air, have done no wrong!
You could tag me whilst flying through contours of clouds up high,
I, His majesty of the skies, fearsome, will stop chaos and lead the strong.
If you could only see this breath taking panoramic view from the sky.

Fearsome Feline

basking in the sun,

        idling maned predator,

                    the tawny terror.

No Fearsome Island

I love the island.
Island is no man.
When peace is none.
Beautiful island.
With beach.
And white sand.
Before I don't feel the fear.
Fearsome here.
Fearsome there.
Fearsome tell.
Old business dear.
Trade with with slavery.
That's only history.
Shouldn't happen today.
Tomorrow would be great easy.
No abduction.
Fearsome no more.
I love you peace.
Layag Sug!

Culicidae: a Fearsome Adversary

Haphazardly, yet dastardly
Chaotic but organized, that bastard, he
With vengeance unjust and supersized
In an earthquake, he is the aftershock
You think it’s done, but wait! SURPRISE!
World’s rocked and socks knocked off
You can’t ditch this itch, what a crock!
Some may mock, but he is an iceberg
What you see seems just the average jerk
When underneath is all berserk!
A quirky perk to fool hapless foes
Off guard he throws, keep on your toes
For your weakness he already knows
So goes the life of the thorn in a rose
To impose strife and scorn I suppose
Being born so forlorn your only purpose here
Is to STRIKE FEAR AND MAKE THEM PUCKER
I mean… really just a pesky little bloodsucker
That’s besides the point though.
Since he’s the BEST of the pests in this jest
And will NEVER REST for his quest
He is OBCESSED and full of zest
I can attest since I can hear him buzzing
Because when it comes to push and shoving
This nasty little good for nothing
Will not be content and will not relent
Until he gets under the skin that holds the scent
He will torment! And when he gets the win,
Oh you’ll be sorry as he flies away in VICTORY
Then his epic story will be ….. SMACK.

Hmm… perhaps not so all powerful foe.
Damn mosquito.

Culicidae (Scientific name for mosquito,
and super sneaky secret villain name in this case!)

A Fearsome Light

Where the nail meets the wrist
and the tree tops explode
in a firework of birds,
going off in a wild change of heart

and a murmur of clouds
now gets caught in the light
of the razor-sharp wings
of angels, restored to the sky,

there I stand and I sing,
from the rooftops of hurt
and the ashes of dreams
and the emblems of hope:

in this place of truth,
in this fearsome light,
I must turn to you,
till the end of love and time.

Fearsome

At the bottom core of my soul,
I fear the fate I lead,
I fear the pain and loneliness,
I fear the yet to be.

We all search for our being,
Self worth with acceptance,
Take the world of fear away,
And your left with peaceful presence.

Engraved in our heads,
As young reflecting morals,
To fear every instability,
Always harboring turmoil.

So fear the fear of having fear,
Live life yet not the careful way,
Make the fright a motivation,
And inspire others every day

What Fearsome Burning God

How softly sweetly,gently flowers pose
Carnation,orchid ,daffodil and rose.
Their intricate petals form a shield
Yet bees with much striped force shall make them yield.
Appearances,both natural and contrived,
Mixed with the wiles of human nature thrive.
As, knowing not, we pluck the apple rare
And bite its flesh, with teeth we have to bare.
We too deceive the innocent who pass
Not seeing watchers hid behind the glass.
The windows break,the deep earth quakes;
Seized is the maiden ,he her virtue takes.
Beneath the surface, force and fierceness thrive.
What fearsome, burning God enjoys our lives?

What Fearsome Burning God Enjoys Our Lives

How gently,sweetly softly flowers pose,
Carnation,orchid ,daffodil and rose.
For their intricate petals form a shield
Yet bees with striped force do make them yield.
Appearances,natural or contrived,
Mixed with the wiles of men and women thrive.
As knowing not, we pluck the apple rare
And bite its flesh, with teeth we have to bare.
We too deceive the innocent who pass
Not seeing watchers hid behind the glass.
The windows break,the dark earth quakes;
Seized is the maid and he her virtue takes.
Beneath the surface, force and fierceness thrive.
What fearsome, burning God directs our lives?

Sidney Cat****

Here is another cat in this home’s
trying herd, who wears his fur
with a shiny, pretentious pride (for
which, of course, there is no cautioning word
to hint to him about humility, because
there isn’t a cat alive who’s done more
than nap upon a bible) and
Sidney has his mirror at
the front in his mind,
which keeps Sidney’s mews
a self-admiring sweet and his
chin tipped up ever higher
upon any glance to note his mood or
for all moves to scratch his back.

Sidney Cat can stretch up to quake
every inch, every fiber of
the who he is.
Sidney prizes
his high arch and his hiss,
which he demonstrates
at every jarring surprise
coming within a tail’s reach
to disturb his peace…

But, Sidney will lie out on
a warm day’s patio with
his eyes gathering in all sights.
Strangely, tho, Sidney Cat simply
gazes, staying still, as a speckled
sparrow settles on a nearby stone
to consume wind-blown sunflower seeds…
while Sidney, it seems, restrains
from chasing off any bird, perhaps
because while he exalts his fearsome hiss
and outstanding speed,
he truly has realized
 wonder
for birds’ talent to soundlessly,
instantly fly away
while Sidney prefers to twitch
his superb whiskers…
and watch!

Premium Member Emi Sunshine and the Rain

Flawless
Fifteen
Skin so fit and clean;
The color white seem fragile
Splash of pink stood out in twilight
My spirit smiled
Her fresh voice in comfort of what's right,
I paused and said, "Welcome!"
Oh beautiful for songs she sung
I'm snug with light lyrics floating on zephyr breeze
Each tune melts my heart to hum, as
She sang for the nations
Summer warmth and rain songs.

Yaldabaoth embellished in his shadows

Caliginous eyes
Fearsome face of sickly white
Lion-headed snake
Embellished in his shadows
With flaming orange beneath

Premium Member My Fearsome Five

I don't have one favourite animal
my favourites are the big 5
having been to Africa twice
seen them all real and live

The lion is so majestic
earning it's rightful place of king
the largest and biggest is the elephant
loving the water is their thing

Unpredictable is the buffalo
a lover of good old grass
A rhino loves a diet of vegetables
living for 40 years on mass

Finally we come to the loner
the leopard's never last
with a coat of beauty
and high speed so fast

So there you have my favs
a fearsome five they are
wouldn't want to meet them all at once
without having a fast car
