Little Girl Grown

little girl you have grown,

little girl you have changed,

little girl you have new fads,

little girl you are still bringing smiles,

little girl don't ever change

little girl you still melt my heart

little girl you have grown,

little girl I wish you a most

happy birthday, from

your papa.

They Forgot To Be

The little girl asked 'Do you love me?"
"Yes," they replied, "now leave us alone!"
The little girl said "You love her more!"
"Now don't be silly, I'm quite busy. Your father's business burned down today, we
have no time for this."
The little girl ran, she was found and dismissed as additional stress.
It passed along as days that were not meant to be.
It continued as coldness that never ends.
And then one day, they grew older, and the little girl came to realize the truth,
that family would never be hers.

Changing Me

I see me now-who I want to be
A girl so strong-a heart so free
A spirit ready to fight without rest
Yet a girl with mercy entwined in her breath
I can see the girl I want to be
But she isn’t the one looking back at me
When I’m gazing in the mirror
Her heart is crippled by her fears-
Her eyes are clouded with the scars of years
Her spirit is confused with whom to fight
And mercy is slipping out of sight
I am not the girl I want to be
Not even sure if I ever could be
But every day I wake renewed once again
And try to make myself into my dream again
And with the help of my Master and Friend
I will sleep a little more like my dream and less like I am

Little Girl Little Girl

Little girl little girl, with imaginations bright
Living in your fairy tale world with joy and delight

Little girl little girl, with a smile so wide
pearly white teeth that never hide

Little girl little girl, please do not cry
one day you too will be able to fly

Little girl little girl, oh how you've grown
Oh how swiftly the time has flown

Little girl little girl when I look i see
the little girl i used to be

The 7 Women

It started with one
The south is where she would grow up
New York is where she would stay
A man she would meet, two girls she would have
New York is where the oldest would grow up
She would move to Baltimore, but at some point, Colorado would become her home
She would have two girls of her own
But would lose one all too soon
New York is where the youngest would grow up
She would try out California, but Colorado would become her home
She would have one girl of her own
She would be born in New York, but Colorado would be her home
And a girl she would have of her own
