Best Emergent Poems
And yes, she will rise and conquer
She is queen of her own destiny
Her spirit is indomitable
Her eyes aflame with passion
Her warrior heart beats to its own drum
She will not just survive-
(let the world take note)
but thrive
*Dedicated to all warrior princesses, wherever they may be found

How can one man find
More faith in a crevasse of Siula Grande,
Than most will ever know,
Sitting beneath a pulpit on Sunday?
Dulling the truth to grow the census,
Merchants and cowards comfort the carnal ear.
Marketing Christ’s love without his conviction,
Left willful in sin with nothing to fear.
In half doctrines and custom alter calls,
Prostituting the truth with all forms of prosperity.
Akin to seeding hookers in the chambers of Heaven.
Deceived to death twice by hand and blasphemy.
Feeding wolves from among your own flocks.
In the banquets of ancient mystics and bride Blavatsky,
Word of Faith gorging on their mammon,
Left choking in an insatiable eternity.
A culture’s blue concessions are gone,
Giving more choices leaving Paul’s letters unread.
No church discipline or discernment left,
Testaments of burning flesh that once bled.
Refusing to submit to be broken.
Fading old blessings from past obedience.
Confusing favor with common grace,
Hypocrisy’s retribution birthed decadence.
Millions claiming the found life of the few,
In every eulogy and requiem,
Lukewarm afterthoughts of the Son,
Losing everything by never knowing him.
Despising the light of the living truth,
Lobotomizing guilt with the scalpel of ignorance.
Finding solace in the darkness of mystery.
Death marches infectious rainbows of tolerance.
Redefining roles and covenants in hemorrhaging lies
Under the pretense of the modern states,
Illusions of enlightenment killing somatic slaves.
Relativism’s heart courting the things he hates.
Enticed by the delusions of utopias,
Bound in the fables of autonomy.
Throats upon The two-edged sword,
In this American tragedy

This poem attempts to capture the Fundamentalist view on certain issues with other movements within Christianity. Also, the man in the crevasse, chose a different kind of faith than you may have assumed.

What lives deep within?
Which thoughts, what vitality?
For from these must we emerge,
As there is little without
Except the baleful wind
Whining across bleached dunes.
Death is a void of expression
Stark, barren, arid.
Mere rocks scoured by flash flood
Twisted and gnarled;
Gravestones of salt extrusion
From emergent times.
What life there is in Death Valley
Lives underground and waits
For night or brief rain;
But then it must express
Whatever it is, for death
Is to fail to come forth.
There are two deaths
In Death Valley:
The first is not to emerge
When that moment comes,
The second is that there is
Nothing to emerge.

9 billion years is nothing if not but a beginning
For the virus is in disguise
Not quite alive, almost life, a prototype
Lives in a mask, a husk, inanimate, parasitic
Growth of the emergent proto life forged in the void
Viruses can not live on their own
A host is necessary in empty places
Even is the depths of outer space
Bacteria swim in colonies of millions
Stream as one cell organisms
Disease is a way to get attention
They live. Some are infectious
The virus kills but not on purpose
Some protect us from ourselves
A shell of what could have been
If they were something else in this existence

The rain falls in a cascade,
myriad droplets dancing—
a lilt of rain slithers,
serpentine around my skin—
a whisper of hope in the dusk.
In the garden,
the lunar sky still shines.
Through the nebula’s haze,
a new star is born,
a spark of phosphorus glowing,
guiding a way out of the dirt,
like the spark in my own heart.

Quatrain #25:
EMERGENT
Words shape the gaze of thoughts that surge,
Voice weaves the maze of vivid urge;
Poise frees the craze where echoes flood,
Buzz thrills the daze that hurl and merge.

Consciousness is the scintillating blaze
alive on a smoldering log,
a flame emergent from complex interplays
of biology and environment.
Consciousness is greater than the cumulative
elements from which it is produced,
a roving free-form swirling cloud,
a wandering storm over the latest landscape.
Consciousness is always emergent
like an undulating flock of birds.
like the windswept grains of sand dunes.
Consciousness is collectively aware,
a normative quest linked to community survival,
a reaching within for a larger knowing.
Our God may be a force outside time and space,
a consciousness of collective consciousnesses,
a vast power offering the ethics of our survival,
an emergent property of our collective minds.

Light comes to heal
The hurts we feel
Learn to allow
Joy to live now
Peace of heart knows
An inner glow
Be beyond blame
In a good name
Each man must live
Works that he gives
There is no pay
In vain display
He hurts the most
Must be the host
Goodwill starts deep
Just where we weep
Hurts and pains sum
To cleanse outcome
Be good to all
That plan your fall
Love ever acts
Blunt healthy fact
Discern and learn
Love what you earn
Being is soul
Becoming whole
Dark is the night
Without true light
Walk your talk well
Dwell what you tell
Too soon, too late
A broken fate
Take time to see
Truth and beauty

Splurge of colours
Sparkle in the clouds
Sun in brilliant radiance
Start of sure light
Sensorial rapture
Streams of heaven here
See the emergent
Sunshine sensations
Sun beams energising
Sense a sudden surge
Smiles that style scenes
Surround simple stance

A silver platter,
It is my sudden clutter,
To spread my bread with butter,
I even use the cutter,
By posting a letter,
I find something better,
I would set my dessert later,
I don't let it into a gutter,
I am not a chatter,
I am like a trader,
I am not a sitter,
I'm in a jitter,
For a more beautiful flower,
Not something as sour,
Turn into an hour,
I am on the floor,
I'm trying to open the door,
I'm running away from a lair,
That does not want to be fair,
I could not even could not stand the stairs,
I will arrange the chairs,
I fashioned myself with Marie Claire,
I put on a gear,
Do not put me in tears,
Celebrate me with all the cheers,
For that, I salute those in Sears,
As I am the voice,
Uphold by the glitz,
Of hit and glam,
I put the media on the slam,
To remember my jam.

The wait I must withstand-
I have a sickly smile and poison in my hand.
I stand strong in the middle of this emergency.
That started weeks ago with my fear spinning urgently.
I feel a happy dizziness.
As I am stricken with voices and hisses.
As the doctors mill around.
I can feel these twitches that confound.
Mumbling and screaming.
The colors of this room are beaming.
I have stumbled-
As I roam the room, the ceiling tumbles-
I may never ride in a car again-
I guess in some way I have sinned.
Collect your fragments- you will soon forget!
Hand over your dreams- it is a part of treatment.
One day you may leave here-
And we will leave you with memories of tears.
From this trauma, you will emerge.
And the liveliness you felt, will never again surge.

Enter and see,
Miracle here;
Explore and be,
Reach lasting cheer;
Grace comes to free,
End waves of pain:
Notice this sea,
Troubles that stain;
Realise clear light,
Emerge with bliss;
Align heart's sight,
See beyond these;
Observe the way,
Now live fond stay.

EMERGENT
By Leon Enriquez
In the emergent light you see
Order and chaos within a hint
That taut poise in ambiguity
A flash of insight in raw tint
The known in the unknown tangle
That shows an unseen point of view
Sore dilemma in triangle
Confronts conflict in visual cue
~~~~~~~~~
Do you now know just what you know?
The plain truth and the paradox
Movement in moments here that show
Thought and afterthought that flip box
Discern the inconstancy there
With the surge of jibber-jabber
In contradictions that craft flair
Where certainty aligns fever
~~~~~~~~~
Two companions sit by my side
Each wears a certain arc of grace
Truth keeps company with the tides
Paradox lures wit in embrace
Drama confronts primal fancy
As truth speaks with silence profound
Paradox casts views contrary
As irony captures odd grounds
~~~~~~~~~
Know the steady embrace of truth
That sits silently by your side
Where you seek the emotive proof
As flaming paradox rides
Yet we toss and turn and lay blame
Seek refuge in the light of truth
As if playing a losing game
When the simple truth channels proof
~~~~~~~~~
I hear the conversations here
Tryst with twin companions of flow
Speak as conscious quivers draw near
Am I certain that I now know?
Silence speaks with profound deep tones
As echoes flood my mortal feel
Truth and paradox match old bones
An enlightening moment spills
~~~~~~~~~
I question the truth with touch strange
Hear truth prompts choice in poise of voice
Paradox answers through tough change
Two options in twist of brisk noise
So we try our best to live grief
Yet cannot leave our mortal veil
So we traverse change not so brief
As human consciousness avails
Pursue the spark of fragrant wit,
To make your mark with style that fits.
Watch wonder frame such vibrant sighs,
As poise now names a perfect high.
Emerge from sleep as conscious feel,
Wise worth lives deep in buoyant thrill.
Sense how the light can tell of touch,
Aware you sight that craft moves much.
From stillness see how senses seek,
Let go and be part of the peak.
Round and round here the strains of pain,
The ground swell steers odd noise in vain.
Soul in pure know comes forth with ease,
Stand still and glow with mind at peace.
See space and time
Create bold chimes
What happens when
Feels certain then
Feel thoughts that swirl
As noise feeds hurl
Be one with joy
Where cheer employs
Sense a sure good
Beyond mere moods
Live well and see
Just what will be
There is a light
That transcends sight
Know your true place
In cast and trace
Leave thoughts behind
When grace you find
