Best Datuk Poems
Today, the local daily papers highlighted a man of honour...
Deserving of his honorific title Datuk bestowed on men of honour...
Given his loud and strident calls for those holding the reins of power....
To better buck up in all matters of governance, to honour pledges while in power..
From relative obscurity, this quiet man has been religiously executing his duties...
As a number 2 man in the high office called the Special Branch, overseeing matters of security...
Given that his beloved nation now staggers under a yoke of suspicion and bad governance....
He is steadfast in his intergrity pledge of topmost quality service to the king and nation...
Loud is his urgings for civil servants to uphold pledges of intergrity and loyalty...
It is obvious his strong conviction is born out of a man of the highest principles...
Befitting the post of the Special Branch deputy director....
Today's interview in The Star provides an insight into his character...
Clearly it shows he is not easily cowed under political pressure..
And most admirably, not seduced by subtle promises from political masters...
Headlined as From Special Branch top cop to enemy of the state...
His candour in this news piece is credit to his character...
He knows where his loyalty lies and he is highly principled...
Admitting that he deliberated well and hard before he launched....
Some very personal and opinionated statements that jeopordised his career.....
When in fact he has merely 1000days more to see the tail end of his career...
What a ignominous exit for the country's top cop because of his stand on integrity...
How many other officers in the goverment dares stand up to uphold such integrity....
This dedicated man daringly calls each spade by its name and no other names will do...
Even as in this complex society we live in, a wrong can be whitewashed with blinded loyalty...
If only there are more politicians and statesman of this datuk's quality...
Our country will not be suffering from escalating racial prejudice...
Or economic ills that is plaguing our posperity and currency...
Are there more men of integrity and high principles..
Are there more such men to help steer this troubled country...?

As a nation, Malaysia is but a mere 28 million strong..
Diverse as she is, we as citizens sing together her national song...
Entitled Negara Ku or My Country, we all arise to pay homage as we sing...
With nationalism in our hearts, many a stellar citizen stands proudly...
Every time the song is trumpeted in any prize giving ceremony...
We are but a small country yet we all have big dreams...
How else can you explain our presence in the world stage ...
In Datuk Lee Chong Wei, the badminton world sees a supremo...
His skills and flair for his chosen game is second to no other..
His counterpart, Datuk Nicol Ann David, is just as stellar....
9 years of world status as number one in Woman Squash...
Her achievements eclipsed all other woman players in squash..
But what is this, what disaster brings upon us this latest atrocity...
Our democratically elected Prime Minister from the Razak family...
The venerated Najib Razak Prime Minister Elect and Finance Minister...
Voted and fingered in the whole of Asia as the worst finance minister ...
Decades of painstakingly brand building of the nation of Malaysia...
Many have witnessed how Malaysia emerged stronger in turbulent Asia..
After the ravages of the severe economic crisis back in the nineties ...
The colossal quagmire of an entity called 1MDB, touted as a sovereign fund...
On the back of government guarantees, it secured billions and billions in funds..
After many a mysterious and incomprehensible dealings and wheelings...
1MDB is now a hot potato under suspicion as a conduit for money laundering..
Worse still it is widely perceived to swindle a nation of her citizen's money...
And horrors, the financial minister may have ill gotten gains in his accounts...
With a 50billion deficit and counting , 1MDB is set to be a colossal disaster....
Who is that Finance Minister? He has to be the worst in the whole of Asia!!!

Tears Of A Champion
It is out there on the internet, one can easily come by it..
A spirited display of championship squash, this was it..
The Queen of squash, Nicol David, recently dethroned...
Going up against Laura Massaro, the squash queen from England..
There has been many hard fought battles between these two..
But for the last 9 years or so, all world class rivals are kept at bay..
A phenemonal record of dominance in this modern gladiatorial sport..
Occassionly there was a stumble or two, but Nicol made sure her spot..
So, here again these two established queens of squash, they clashed...
It is the long awaited final event, Nicol against Laura, in a glass court event..
Laura had just won US Open title last month, she was on a roll...
Here in Hong Kong Open, it is another final on the trot, the trophy beckons..
But being 8 times world champion and 9 times world number one..
Nicol David was focused and all afire, speed, power and precision are one...
As she contained all the shotmaking prowess of Laura, and she was more...
For she is a duracell bunny to her very core, tirelessly piling on the scores...
When the final rally point was played and scored, Nicol was victorous...
As she shook Laura's hand, she was all smiles and ever so gracious...
As was the norm, there was a short segment of live interview ..
Then it happened, the floodgates of emotions gave way to tears......
Shedding away tears of self doubt and frustrations....
When a little slide in ranking brought out many naysayers...
What was hurtful most were those comments about her age...
Despite her stranglehold of 108 months on the world stage..
Nicol rightly deserves a better appreciation of a lion hearted champion...
Look at Gregory Gaultier at 33, finally world champion from his 5th final..
Hey people! Look at Nick Matthew at 35, he's is top 10 still...
So welcome back, Datuk Nicol, the years you've had are there still..
So happily she shed a few tears, there are many more almighty roars...
Let women squash world sit up and watch each time again you roar...
Go and get 'em, Nicol David, squash queen from Malaysia only....
Que sera sera...whatever will be, will be, such is your destiny...

Gold Medals Wanted...
At this point in time, it is a worrisome time when Malaysia as a country fumbles....
Economics, politics and a divided people are part of her myriad set of troubles...
In sports Malaysians generally sought relief and belief, and a little pride...
It is shocking but the facts are out and Malaysians need to quicken our strides..
We are devastated, we were shamed when UAE soccer boys hammered ours 10-0....
Our bastion of pride, Datuk Nicol David the ever energetic Duracell Bunny....
Was dislodged from her record 109 months' reign as Woman Squash Number 1 recently...
Our aging Datuk Lee, despite his playing years battle in badminton still for our country's pride...
But the years have taken its toll on his invincibility and Malaysians must accept he is on a downward slide....
Together with the our Bunny squash queen, they each try their very best to honour the country....
All Malaysians take awesome pride each time the national anthem is played loud and clear...
The anthem proudly proclaims a patriotic Malaysian who has battled tooth and nail to ultimately prevail..
Everytime a sporting son or daughter of Malaysia makes it to the winner's podium..
For now , Malaysians have heroes and heroines in squash, diving and badminton...
But our nation demands many more from its citizens, for the country to forge on...
For the elusive quality of a unified people is achievable and obvious in sporting glory...
Unified in spirit, pride and fame, Malaysians can pull together and weather all storms....
So, children of Malaysia, go for gold in all kind of sports in order a troubled Malaysia can reborn...
Go, Malaysia, go, go for gold! With your exploits, Malaysia is again a nation whole!

It is amazing yet so true about top notched sports stars...
There is always a time when they're the undisputed stars...
They'll be top seeded in all the major tournaments they entered in...
And unsurprisingly and unceasingly they perform to cement their top billing....
At such periods in time, their reign is sublime and they're the ones to beat...
Probably their aura of being top seeds quelled the fight out of many a lower seed..
Only in such periods when time seems to stand still as they reign supreme....
Best exemplified by Datuk Nicol Ann David who was 109months queen supreme ...
Like any other champion, she gets dethroned but she'll soon regain her top ranking...
But as age catches up, her subsequent reign is not going to be smooth sailing...
It's impossible for her to equal ever again that record setting 109months reign....
It took years for her exorable climb up to such a pinnacle of excellence...
For a champion, long hours and back breaking training sessions are unseen ......
And a professional teamwork are in place to ensure such perennial dominance...
But the fact remains, after a period of unceasing dominance....
All champions, whatever their game, will fade into the distant horizon...
Makes you wonder, stars of yesteyears, if age is not in the equation...
Will their mastery, skills and experience match new and upcoming champions?
Take a look at Datuk Lee Chong Wei in badminton, he was once the top honco...
Losing was never an option and his invincibility was an aura lesser players yield pronto...
After an unfortunate enforced lay off from badminton due to suspected drug misuse....
Therein lies several episodes of labourous climb back into the world rankings...
These days yesteryear champions are unceremoniously chucked out of rankings...
Each time an eager young turk charges into the finals and resets the ensuing rankings...

Political Cartoonist
Political cartoonist extraordinaire that is Zunar the man...
Look at the sheer brilliance in the works of this this man....
A cartoonist long considered an antagonist for BN....
He is talented enough to rival the Datuk who created Lat the cartoon series....
An iconic cartoon all Malaysians readily indentifies with......
Lat brought worldwide fame and fortunes to its creator...
Heck, he was duly rewarded with a honorific Datuk title...
And as fairy tales ending go, he basked in the occasional limelight...
Keeping a low profile and do whatever was politically right...
But for Zumar the cartoonist, holding true to his political stand...
It has been a long running saga of persecution over the works from his pen...
He is up to his nose in charges brought up in the court of justice...
And some of his creative works are deemed seditious...
He has acquired international fame and status...
But in his countryland, the political masters reduce him to pariah status....
It is a tribute to the man that he still churns out satirical cartoon pieces...
Any lesser man would have folded or changed his political stand....
Given the myriad charges and persecution he has to withstand....
But for the artist in cartoonist Zunar, he persists unflinchingly....
To pursue his noble art of highlighting political wrongs in his cartoons...
Make no mistake, he is a genius at odds with the political masters...
He could have been even more famous, a high flying Datuk .....
If only he sell his political soul to the Devil and revel in the adulation....
Should he decide to change his alliance and be true to the establishment...

A perfect example why to some people age is just a number...
You feel your age only if you choose to buckle under...
All those hype and negative comments once your age is 30 and over....
Of course just like a battle scarred lion growing up to be a lion king...
You will carry battle wounds and scars from the battles you've been....
What a great weekend it has been, Datuk Lee as a well bandaged veteran...
Shredding to bits the golden dream of his young opponent with the killer reputation...
Age is just a number, you feel old if you choose to be...
Look at Datuk Nicol Ann David, that's another old ginger of a player...
She has just secured a PSA win over there in mountainous Columbia...
After a hiatus of one and a half years in uncharacteristically lean times....
She gets to savor winning the grand prize one more time....
And at the age of 34, she's now one of the old dames in woman squash....
The fires of ambition still burn strongly in both of these Datuks....
Malaysians in Bolehland, stand up and applaud these 2 vintage Datuks....
Their latest victories are the epidomes of hard work, perseverance and ambition...
Despite wearied limbs and muscles screaming for their retirement....
Bolehland, stand up and lustily hail these 2 heroes for their latest achievements.....

Honorary Title At A Price
Here in Bolehland, many a individual hankers for honorary titles..
Typically those who have it made, they wish to announce to the world...
They have arrived, money in abundance, recognition now they crave...
By Maslov theory of human behaviour, it is but a natural progression...
For being human, we all welcome peer admiration and recognition...
Here in Bolehland, questions abound about one getting a Datukship ...
For there is just one Datuk too many, even when it does not come cheap...
What one needs is big bucks despite less than exemplary character...
You and me, with the right amount of bucks, a Datukship can be odered...
If Datukship is what you want, just make ready some sizeable money....
The award used to be a deserving honour only to individuals...
Who has contributed greatly and honorably to society in general...
But nowadays the honorary title is available for a price...
Money talks and royal honors can be bought, if one meets the price...
With royalties in so many states, you can be a Datuk multiple times over..
Now there has been a shooting incident, a young Datuk of 32...
Meeting an untimely shooting death at the hands of his bodyguard..
At the tender age of 32, somehow he had a Datuk title...
And obviously money, for he had need for personal protection.....
Which is rightly unusual in this Bolehland, with peace loving people...
Maybe in the end godly justice was served for this young Datuk ....
For his new bodyguard was an executioner out on his 1st day at work...
Is it poetic justice that one so young, honorific title Datuk bestowed. ..
Should meet such an inglorious and premature violent end .....
Brings acutely to mind the wisdom in the English proverb...
This departed Datuk must have been involved in crimes...
For being so young, needing and buying protection from armed men...
He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword....
Higher justice was at work, and here on earth, justice might have been served...

Guilty Via Paymen
Hohoho.....
Here in Bolehland, a murder case is being heard in High Court...
A very intriguing case where a deputy public prosecutor ended dead in a cement drum ....
The seventh accused, Ravi Chandran, if he is to be believed...
Was an instant millionaire seven times over if promises of payment were realised....
His price for freedom in exchange for wealth promised to the tune of RM7millions.....
A prison officer, reportedly on behalf of then PM Najib, he offered 3.5m....
Dr Kuna, military pathologist and one of the co-accused, reportedly promised RM1.5m....
Most incredibly, the victim's brother himself, Richard Morais....
A datuk no less, and a self confessed hard core gangster on top of that...
He offered RM2m in money in exchange for a guilty-as-accused plea....
A massive total of RM7m was promised in money......
If only the hero Ravi Chandran admitted to a guilty plea...
Makes one wonder, here in Bolehland, real life drama can outstage any Bollywood screen drama...?
Hohoho....
