Best Clinic Poems
(To my Best Friend)
For you I dream of hope
always for tomorrow,
yet this day one hope’s never to end
although this life without a dream
a reality to pretend,
alas without a lifetime friend.
It’s almost tomorrow
a life sadly coming to an end,
something inside of me tells one
I’d been so wrong
when dreaming of our lives
in streams of tomorrow.
It’s almost tomorrow
this day one hope’s never to end,
tomorrow I know you’ll cease
to be my only friend
this life you live
to come to an end.
Goodbye! Oh no it’s almost tomorrow
this day which will wrench us apart,
“Please oh please
take the good out of goodbye,
there is nothing good,
about a final farewell”

A visit to Doctor Upyers' Medical Clinic was approached with trembling and dread!
Most folks would rather be fishing or have an appointment with their dentist instead!
Oh no! He wasn't trained in the fields of audiology, cardiology or cosmetology.
You see, at his Bottoms Up Clinic he specialized in the practice of proctology!

Man
old
in wheelchair
with a number tatooed
across the back of his hand.
Three rows of numbers.
Were you there?
Germany?
Amsterdam?
His head is bowed into
hand/arm resting on the chair.
Bowed head
sparse white of hair
were you there?
Holocaust man reading.
In boots now he is
the lumber man,
or cowboy man ...
were you there?
Old velcro tennis
shoe men
in the optometry clinic
waiting for glasses
while they
read
pictures.

Narrative
A Doll to the Clinic
Overlooking from the counter
Then I saw her,
With a bairn on the shoulder
Wearing a face that mowed a smile.
under duress she enters
In nexus of tumult,
And couldn't bear the queue run
'Cause she had badly needed to see nurse.
Then was all around me fast and quick stamping her feets
It was vivid the doll couldn't breath.
T'was risky to intake in black and white
so I pointed to the door right.
In array of bermuda triangle hastily she left.
I was playing a second fiddle,
I did smell the rat
But wasn't sure to let out the cat.
Just few minutes in inspection
So scary and unbeary she mewed,
I recalled the doll I saw
And visualized it fall purses.
She thrown herself out of the room
Weeping to flooding floor as
Patients joined her match in gloom,
Marvels and fainted. Then we revive her to comforting.

People flocked round badly hurt Paul,
Ten minutes ago had a fall
While he was playing rough football...
And they had to a doctor call,
Then with chess players in a hall,
Loved more than the card's near a mall
"No! His treatment not in this hall,
For not being ethical at all...
Some First Aid and then my clinic...
At least, it'll save me one cynic!"
And you with a dislocation:
Get ready for relocation.

When my friend fell off a wall,
I phoned up the local clinic.
“He’s got cracks,” I said in the call.
They said, “Bring him for a visit.”
As we parked he looked with fright,
Upon all the men who were dressed
As a bunch of Templar chef-knights,
With spatulas on their crest.
My pal was such the cynic,
Demanding we get out of there.
But I said, “It’s the King’s Clinic,
And there’s none finer anywhere.”
He then asked for other sources,
And really started to beg;
"Coz there’s a wheeled bowl pulled by horses,"
Claimed my friend, H. Dumpty the egg.

I am in the medical clinic
new baby squeaks out a distress cry
sounds like a drowning cat
we are all masked
I forgot to wear mine in
so they slapped a pink one on me
I am the third in line
a young woman comes in and stands by door
tries to sneak to front of line
receptionist points behind me and says “go to end of line”
at least ten people are sitting in the main reception room
two inches away from each other’s chairs
many cough into their masks
germs are crawling up their legs, spilling out their eyes
Invisible baby's cries are getting louder
Someone’s phone plays a silly tune
My phone rings
It is my husband trying to face time me
in a clinic? I press the red button three times
he finally gives up and texts
something he should have done in the first place
An unseen toddler shrieks
MOMMY! MOMMY!
All the women look up
We might be smiling
Hard to say with masks which hide our humanness
tall thin young guy wearing enormous black mask walks in
looks like he is ready to pull out a pistol
if you rob a medical clinic what do you get?
I ask if I can sit in the overflow lobby where no one is sitting
I do not relish catching all these contagious diseases
these people probably have malaria and diptheria
I hear the receptionist’s voice get louder
“Sir, have you ever been here before?”
She is talking to the black mask guy
He says “no”
“Whose card is this?” she asks him.
“My wife’s, it’s a new card for me”.
Three women in scrubs walk in carrying their lunch in brown bags.
the masked guy says “Her phone number? Okay”.
For all the receptionist knows, she could be calling anybody.
She asks the person their name.
I am rolling my eyes now.
The nurses are laughing as they walk by
I want to shush them
Trying to follow the soap opera at the reception desk
It has been twelve minutes since the last patient has been taken back
the doctors are probably at lunch
We are probably all sitting here for nothing
As the main room empties out, I inch my way over there
The man who has his wife’s credit card is sitting in the chair I wanted
I try not to pout

A much-neglected condiment is mayonnaise
for its smooth, creamy flavor, I give it 'all A's'
It perks up a sandwich more than ketchup and mustard
and even on desserts, it can outduel custard

For all those
Who donate blood.
#
So here I am
In the blood clinic
With a needle inserted
Into my vein,
The traffic outside
Passing to and fro
In the busy city,
And someone who is sick
Or dying
Injured in an accident
Or perhaps even a young child,
Will benefit from all this...

Jill lives in a town with a mill,
She loves wearing clothes with no frill,
Though she doesn't mind them made of twill,
She cooks her foods using a grill.
She often climbs high on the hill,
To fetch fresh water with a thrill.
Today, she felt both tired and ill,
Filling the drum, she must fulfill.
So, her mum made her go fetch still.
Jill couldn’t climb despite her skill.
She felt worse in the windy chill,
And fell, spilling the bucket fill.
The valley echoed loud her shrill,
Her fall was stopped by an anthill.
Now her mum'd pay the clinic bill,
Though doing so is not her will.
Why not fetch from a nearby rill?
Now she's stuck taking a strong pill,
Just God knows when she'll take it till,
For that steep fall was a near-kill

We need our "Eyeglasses",or we must learn to function in "Darkness"if necessary, and that is not liked, but can be adjusted to so that we can continue through faith to do what we need to do!"Some Doctors must do that too! They say that "The Eyes"are "The Windows To The Soul: Look in "My Eyes":What do you see: Some say I see someone trying to "Hipmatize Me"? We must realize that when we who wear glasses put our glasses on,whether we be young or old;It seems to me that we are "somehow revived on the inside, and on the inside:We are helped to come "Alive"! We almost died! We "LOVE Doctors Of "The Eyes"! We are changed positively, negatively,or spiritually:We being able to see or not see needs to be expressed verbally,so that "The Eye Doctor",and staff can "Really scientifically realize how "He or She""Helps you and anyone and "ME"! Scientific Reality! We sometimes wear, and some of us have three or four pairs of glasses, and contact lens to let us see more vividly, just to be able to see what is needed to be seen by the eye Doctor ,and by us you and me! If you have ever used a "Microscope" I am sure that you understand, and comprend exactly what I truely mean! We encourage "Doctors to maintain "Happiness an self esteen! They should maintain Love ,Happiness and self esteen at the V.A Hospital like Shoyre Payne, and "Eye Doctor" William Keen"!Gambrella J is "King"!They helped to give me sight when I could not see! Eye Doctors must know and realize that they are just as important,as any "Doctor",and that is fact and a reality that is expressed as "The Soul"teaches "The Flesh"through the "Eyes"about "The composition of you,and me,or any "Creature that is or will ever be! I am grateful to "Eye Doctors",because I am still writing "Poetry",and can provide inspiration to "All Doctors in "Every Nation",because they work to heal, and restore lost will in "Blinding situations"to creation ! Can You Feel Me? I can feel you:because words and eyes, and actions tells what is factual, reality, and true:You can believe me ,and I will believe you by the things you say and what you say and do! I Love You!
