Best Cameras Poems
Evil speed cameras everywhere
but when needed they're never there.
Evil speed cameras often snare,
the truly unsuspecting.
Evil speed cameras are out to rob
people who earn an honest bob!
Evil speed cameras do their job?
That's a load of nonsense.
Evil speed cameras where are they,
when dangerous drivers have their way.
Evil speed cameras don't have a say,
these acts are under speed limits.
Many a driver feels aggrieved
at the injustice they have all received;
They might feel happy and relieved
if you could catch the dangerous drivers!

Cameras
The root of my agony
Lies beyond this dollar store
To my foremothers and forefathers
Shackled by thieves
Stolen from the graces of Africa
Their feet once light to
The drum's rhythmic complexity
Now bound in the west
My feet --- diseased
Prohibited to roam
Even in this
Tiny, dusty, dollar store
This Indian man’s curiosity unveils
Equating me to ---a crime
Or a suspect
My large plastic drugstore bag
Opens in obedience
My purchased 18 pack of recycled toilet paper
And four nightgowns
For mama and grandma to share
The Indian man offers
To carry my school supplies
And have them rung up
Cameras watch me
As do the Indian man
In this closed
Confined space
Next trip to the dollar store
I arrive empty-handed
My recycled cotton tote bag
Folded flat
Into my navy blue Land's End
Water resistant jacket
Plastic man
Paid with plastic money
At the exit I
cautiously bare and clutch my tote
To secure
My heavy notebooks
The black plastic bags
Could have torn

Bad scripts need work, develop plot
With strong clean dialogue
That is hot
Memorized lines acting poetic
Trying to be the
Heroic
Character playing a role
Moving in the show
For the gold
Since when reels unspool
Cinema is cool

Single eyed the cameras,
Talk on click,
Smile on flash,
Save in memory like people,
Speak the truth,
Trusted witnesses,
In camera like their names!

Cameras are everywhere
Some seen, others hidden
Criminals should be seen
Robbery is forbidden
Nothing is infallible
A youth knew this for sure
He took a chance
Robbed a bank
Then walked straight out the door

Hiding Behind the Cameras by Kenny Davis
In front of the cameras
I would flash my prize winning smile
Even for just a little while
Basking in my glamour and style
While under the vile, pile of this world’s bile
Drowning in it as if I had jumped head first in the Nile
You see, behind these cameras, I would cleverly hide
All of the lies and late night cries that I buried inside
Memories of goodbyes, “Oh my’s”, and “Lord, why’s?” behind these pain filled eyes
Holding together the disguise, that my tear ducts have dried, saying over and over
“Lord, I have tried!” avoiding to relinquish my stubbornness and pride
Embracing the flash, as if it would last
Knowing that it was just a mask, for my stressed, depressed ass
Just a blast from that flash, but a way to move on from the past
Flaunting in the presence of paparazzi
Wearing Armani, sipping on Bacardi, Going the way of Gotti, like I was somebody
My whole entire world, caught up in entertainment
Who I really am, struggled in detainment
Behind this smile, if the public only knew what my name meant
All the tears that were spent when I needed to vent
About the real blessings I was sent and then where it all went
Hiding behind all of the glitz and glam
While the public did their best just to slam who I am
Confused by who they knew and who they thought I was on cam
Confusing remarks that made them say, “Damn!”
Putting me in a category with all of the trash and internet spam
I would give them the look, so they could get a shot
Sporting the latest fads and fashions, I even dropped it like it’s hot
It’s where would all of the people come from that stumped me
Surrounded by the masses of those I thought that loved me
Though I was showing the signs
Of the pain and hurt that dwelled deep inside
I would hide this broken line on this withered heart of mine
All to reinforce the strength of my spine
That in time this heart of mine would heal with these cameras I hide behind

Waking unto the lighted tree, reaching towards her waning night
Cast a glance this moon she swings; their thousand crows his child's
Dream these barking dogs and love that brings; questions, what do they
Speak the infant crawling past an open door ? Spoon of hand quest be more
Picturesque, transfigured scenes with golden dolls, about sanctum swings....
While her world outside she weeps they cry another battle song ? Insidious banners
These fireflies which wave their truth amid smoke-stained skies; death as blood, romanticized.

I have been through cameras with films, Polaroids, flash cubes, the lot.
I have enjoyed every camera I ever had, recording people, always a plot.
Most of my first grayscale photos have faded into a weird kind of gray blur.
I once had a dark room in my home, where creepiness of all kinds would occur.
I never felt like I was alone in there, as I was working with fluids at my sink.
Sometimes I could feel another in there with me, always wearing pink.
This house is haunted, I told my husband, after I developed my film into a scene.
There were often flashes of orbs and whorls, most of them pink, one time a green.
My husband said, just get down in the grass and get a good one of the cat.
This is my daughter’s favorite photo of Peepers, who could not be where she was at.
She was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, learning to be a soldier during a war.
I am glad to say she is safe now, and gets to help me sort my photos, numbering 200,004.

New Cars and cameras
New places to go
Another man to comfort you
When you’re feeling low
Remember all the times we spent
Sharing everything as one
Watching sunsets on the beach
Kissing n the fading sun
I thought we were rock solid
I thought that we would never part
I trusted you with everything
My dreams, my hopes, my heart.
New cars and cameras
New horizons to explore
Another man to hold your hand
But this man loves you more
I feel broken and alone
My life’s come off the tracks
I can’t restore the love we had
I can’t fill in the cracks
Our bodies once they merged as one
Our souls were intertwined
I thought we’d found the perfect love
But you left me behind
New cars and cameras
New stories to trade
A love left on the back burner
Cos it didn’t make the grade
Don’t want to join the broken
The beaten and the lost,
Don’t want to be a memory,
Don’t want to count the cost.
I opened up my heart to you
Now I can’t take this pain Love that blossomed in the sun
Now washed up in the rain
I gave you all I had to give
But thats not enough it seems
You traded love for money
You shattered all my dreams
New cars , new cameras
Did I come up that short ?
Can love that seemed so precious
IBe so easily bought ?
The colours have all seeped now
Rainbows fade to grey
If we can’t be together
I can’t face each passing day
New Cars and Cameras
I will never understand
How “bling” would be your thing
And undo all we had planned
I cannot say goodbye
To my soulmate, my best friend
I can’t put out the fire we lit
So I’ll love you to the end.

The mannequins put on skin
pretending to be human
feigning familiarity
with lives they’ve never lived
performing a pantomime
of proficiency in poverty
the wisdom won from doing without
playing the part of people
they consider inconsequential
believe are below them
with whom it would be unsuitable
to be seen socializing
unworthy of a welcoming word
as they parade about
before the cameras and crowds
bedecked in diamonds and gold
silk gowns and Armani suits
whose value would feed
more than a few struggling families
Contemptible creatures
Heinous and hollow

It wasn’t clean at Calvary,
no tidy hill-top site,
neat-kept and swept
where tourist cameras
crowd
wide-angled
in the holy sweat
of multi-pounded package tours.
It was a common place
of cruelty,
and blood,
a skull,
Golgotha death
and mocking hate
and sorrow deep-confused.
In retrospect,
a place of wonder
infinite,
for here
the eternal God,
forgiving,
gave his life
for me.
“The Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20
